In fact the british invasion and genocide attempts of the Irish people involved banning Irish names. Ali mentions 'O'Connor' , 'Grady' , 'Kennedy' all of which are altered into the english versions. This is the best Ali interview I have ever seen. What other guest could relate so brilliantly with the Irish people of 1972. Whenever I need inspiration, this is who I take council from. And the interviewer was excellent, I’m sure he’s well known in Ireland but truly excellent interview.

It’s so nice to see how relaxed he is in Ireland, and the interviewer is so much more respectful, as he should be, as he’s in the presence of greatness. So true. Plenty of other opportunities to showcase the man that they missed as well. Actor, scriptwriters, director, all of them. The charisma, the evocative poetry, that quiet steel when he talked about black history and the current reality, the way he watched people and gauged them out of the corner of his eye, his speed of thought - so many times in this interview he was way ahead of the interviewer on humour. The interviewer mostly missed it but Muhammad just let it go (except for that little jibe about how much more intelligent he was than the interviewer). They missed so much.
