Virtually every group or singer had a different sound in the sixties . Everybody doing their own thing . There wasn't much copying going on , and if they did other people's music they did it as Frank Sinatra sang - " My Way."

I spent the 90’s living out my obsession with the 1960’s. I was 16 in 1990. From 1990 until 1999 i grew my hair , walked about a town in Scotland called livingston wearing mostly vintage clothing, paisley shirts , beads cords , flared jeans of different colours and velvet trousers, beatle boots, suede jackets , velvet jackets … the list goes on . Lots of denim shirts from the early 70’s. My basic look was based on 1967 . I still love all this music deeply age 50 in 2024. I was still rocking the fashions in the early 2000’s polka dot shirts ect . Now i’m just short haired boring and sometimes i miss those dazes. But i’ve got the music. Straight to heaven in 67’

@jeffburnham66113 жыл бұрын
CSN wouldn't have been successful without Nash, both Crosby and Stills realized this right from the start when Cass Elliot introduced Nash to the others. They were having difficulty with a certain song, and Nash jumped in with the harmonies and that solved everything. Still, The Hollies did quite well for themselves when Terry Sylvester came in to replace Nash.

This is definitely my favorite Hollies song. This song always reminds me of Spring. Putting on a windbreaker and go to Kiddie Land with my parents on the weekend. God, what fun. Fun fact: The Hollies, at one time, had a fanzine called "The Carousel". Perhaps that's why you can hear Allan, Graham and Tony sing "On a carousel" and "on the carousel" during the chorus. Love Bobby's drums on this track as well.
