I thought it was so crazy how Walt says “Thank God” like that when Jesse tells him that Brock is going to be ok. You think, at first, that he’s relieved that Jesse won’t have to deal with it…but then you realize it’s because he’s so relieved that he didn’t murder a child to try and get Jesse to side with him. Such amazing layered acting and writing in this story 🤯

He did it- -mostly, I think- -to motivate Jesse to side with Walt over Gus. Without poisoning the kid (savage as it is), he wouldn't have been able to kill Gus. He also could've used different means to motivate Jesse instead of playing with a child's life (this is where morals start getting questioned), but it could be argued other methods wouldn't have been as effective. It was very clever, and also pretty horrible. Walt is essentially becoming more like Gus: Willing to do the horrible for the end goal, or survival.

My understanding is that, in the writer's room for BB, there was a note card pinned to the top of one of the bulletin boards with the words "Ding - Boom" written on it. Even before the plot for season 4 was broken even before season 3 was finished, someone had the idea of attaching a bomb to Hector's chair that would be triggered by him ringing the bell. As the show progressed they realized that it had to be used to kill Gus. Likewise in season five there is an element introduced early on that the writers, when they wrote that early episode, had no idea how it would be used later. It was a point of pride for them to write themselves into a corner, and then figure out how to escape the trap they'd written for themselves.

The Gustavo Fring character is in my opinion the most evil, accurate persona of a true sociopath. He is not a psychopath like some people say. @@itsyoboyb6314 You've got that exactly backwards. Sociopaths thrive on their ability to blend in and manipulate people. That's the "socio" root of the word "sociopath". They are typically the kind of person no one would suspect of horrible acts. They are con men in the truest sense of the term. Gus is exactly that kind of character, though likely with strong psychopathic tendencies. Psychopaths have a hard time experiencing even the most base of emotions, such as fear, which makes them seek out anything and everything that might make them feel something. Which is why they are often impulsive "adrenaline junkies". Should be noted here that most people who fit into either of these categories will not actually commit violent crimes in their lifetimes. They're simply more predisposed to it than your average individual who doesn't have a "cluster b" personality disorder. CEO's, surgeons, extreme sports, and high intensity combat units are three vocations where these individuals might hide in plain sight, whilst never doing anything explicitly illegal. A more accurate, clinical term for those who would fall on the psychopath/sociopath spectrum is Antisocial Personality Disorder, which contrary to the name, does not mean a hermit or recluse, but rather someone with a predilection towards activities or behaviors that society at large might deem wrong or deviant. Clinicians will use this diagnosis, rather than placing much emphasis on whether or not the individual is a sociopath or psychopath. The hard fact of the matter is that they are stating that the patient is potentially dangerous, and incapable of rehabilitation.

Walt probably waited outside Andrea's house and gave that to Brock when she wasn't looking or something like that, and Brock being a child probably thought that was candy and ate it. He also made Saul make Huel steal Jesse's ricin cigarrete when he patted him down, when Jesse went into Saul's office. He did that to make Jesse think that Brock was poisoned by ricin. Walt did all this to fool Jeese into thinking that Gus poisoned Brok to make Jeese want to kill Gus and trust Walt and it worked. It was a genius but evil plan that ultimately saved Walter's life. Also BJ was right, Walt thought of that when he was in his backyard spinning his gun on that table and the gun ended up pointing to the flower.

You guys forgot that Walt went over to Jesse‘s girlfriend’s place and had dinner. Therefore he had access to the little boy. he was sitting right next to him on the couch. plenty of opportunity to poison him with the lily-of-the-valley in some way shape or form.

Listen y’all. I think Asia and BJ are the most fun, most sincere, most surprisingly wonderful reactors on KZbin, and I watch a lot. But when I catch them rooting for Walt!?! I giggle and shake my head. I love you all but Hank is the hero. Walt is fascinating. Jessie is me.

Walter gave the boy the flowers to manipulate Jessie into helping Walter kill Gus.
@clonexx

It’s not a coincidence that the same flower that poisoned Brock, was in Walter’s back yard. You got it right about when he was spinning the handgun. When it landed pointing at the flower, it gave Walt the idea to poison Brock to turn Jessie against Gus. He couldn’t use Ricin, as that would have Killed him and Jesse wouldn’t have believed it was Gus, because of the cigarette. Lily of the Valley wouldn’t likely kill Brock, and then Walt can deny he ever poisoned Brock, it looks like an accident, after everything is said and done. You have to remember that Walt is written at a genius level far above even your above average intelligence. He’s basically an evil genius. By now, it should also be pretty apparent, that there’s no lengths he won’t go to when it comes to saving his own ass and supporting his family.

They’ll see next episode when they see Walt throw it away. For those of you who don’t know they have seen the whole series and finished a while back so this isn’t spoiling anything for them. Apparently all the videos are on their patreon. I don’t have it but that’s what one of their comments said.

I was liek you shocked beyond shocked when he was standing with half of his face off! I think BJ mentioned a previous episode when Walt was sitting at teh pool spinning a bottle and it spins and points at that plant. I did nto notice this until I had seen that epsode three or four times! :)

100% Walt purposely poisoned Brock. He did it to gains Jesse's support in the murder of gus. Also, Walt went to brocks house remember? Walt even commented on the cereal Brock was eating. You're starting to see that Walt is not the hero/good guy of this story.

They did! They couldn't get enough, just like when we all watched it the first time, years ago. They just have soooo many other series ( hmmm Asia and BJ ?🤔😂) that they don't get around to editing them as quickly. Hopefully, they'll just buzz through the final season. 👍✌️🎬

Ya when the gun landed on the plant walt came up with the plan. Also they give a foreshadowing of Gus getting half blown up in the previous episode where he is standing and talking to Jesse at the hospital you see the shadows cover up the the side of gus’s body that gets blown up. Literal foreSHADOWING.

Walter knew he had to kill Gus. The only way he could kill him is if Jesse turned against Gus. Walter poison Brock because Walter knows how much Jesse love's children. Walter needs Jesse and knows all his weaknesses. Walter and Jesse have a screwed-up father-and-son relationship. They have always looked out for each other.

Jessie figured out it was Walt at first, then Walt framed Gus for it , this way Jessie would help him locate Gus . not only that but it helped save his skin . Jessie would have probably shot him knowing he poisoned Brock , he surely seemed pissed off enough to do it when he first found out the kid was poisoned .

Yeah, it's a burning question as to when & how Walt was able to poison Brock. Rumor has it said by Director Vince Gilliam, Walter eased his way into Brock's school by knowing one of the teachers and snuck the poison into a Juicebox Brock drank from. We all know Walt by now and his techniques to manipulating situations in his favor so I can believe that.

At this point, Walter will do just about anything regardless of how crazy and dangerous it is. He proved that by sending his elderly neighbor into a house because he suspected that there were hitmen waiting for him. Look how easily he blew up a nursing home and gunned those men down. No remorse. Hard to believe that this is the same nervous man from Season 1 who cried after killing Crazy 8.

Sending his neighbour into his house & poisoning Brock put their lives at risk to be sure. He certainly didn't intend any harm to either of them. As for those that Walt killed (Gus, Hector, Gus's enforcers), why would he feel remorse? They're all scumbags who wouldn't have thought twice about killing him, his family, Hank, Jessie, or anyone else who Gus thought was a threat to the business. This is how the business works, and at this point, there wasn't even any way out other than killing or being killed.
