Tommy was messed up for NEVER contacting Joel back, even if he followed the community "rules", he could've at least left word that he was ALIVE without giving away his location. He should've known if that after 20 YEARS of this apocalypse with his brother, if he just stopped responding out of nowhere that Joel would go looking for him, so that was a HUGE dick move. He was surprised when Joel showed up, so that means the few months Joel has been looking for him, Tommy STILL hadn't made any contact, because they would've told him that Joel left the QZ to go look for him months ago. Not a fan of how Tommy had basically written Joel out of his life, one day out of the blue just stops responding, and nobody seems to address it.

We don't really know how they parted ways to start with so maybe Tommy was justified in eventually cutting contact, they show that Joel was pretty dark and ruthless and probably wouldn't have changed if Ellie hadn't come along.

@@Shibby3k When Joel goes to the radio operator in episode 1, he said that Tommy never takes more than a day to respond, and that it'd now been 3 weeks. So obviously they'd been in regular radio contact, and I doubt they had an argument over radio messages that would cause Tommy to stop responding and cut Joel off cold. Tommys only reason was he wasn't supposed to use the radio because the "wrong people" might show up, no excuse to write your brother off after 20 years surviving an apocalypse together.

This part made more sense in the game. Because in the game, it had been years since he had seen Tommy, and they had a falling out. They had basically written each other off and Tommy was surprised when he saw Joel show up. But yeah, Tommy acted like a dick. However, it is "explainable" with what Joel said in the car, that his brother is a joiner. I get the feeling that when he joins something, he joins 100% so this group said don't use tje radio, he didn't use the radio.

joel's disappointment when meeting his brother is understandable: all these risks and losses, especially tess, and for what? for someone who lives like in a fairy tale, and did not even try to contact him? the episode with the mall I liked even more. we found out two important things: 1 how Ellie was infected, and 2 that she likes girls taller than her haha😊

Marlene and the Fireflies found Ellie when they went to look for Riley. Riley didn't show up for her transfer to Atlanta. Marlene had posted Riley at the mall so she knew where to look for her. They found Ellie after she had already killed Riley.

Marlene and The Fireflies were due later that day to pick up Riley from the mall and escort her to her new post in Atlanta. They would've found Ellie bitten but not turned. Ellie gave them a fake name 'Veronica' (Marlene knew her real name cause she was the one who'd placed her in FEDRA School). They didn't kill her and kept her locked up for the next 3 weeks testing her daily until they discovered she was immune and Joel & Tess enter the picture.

Pedro deserves an Emmy for episode 6 and Bella definitely deserves an Emmy for episode 8, which is the heaviest episode of the season.

But when I say episode 8, it's because to be nominated, the production company/network usually submits one episode to highlight the actor and IMO, Bella crushes episode 8. Have you seen it?

If you go back to Ep3, when Joel & Ellie were about to leave in the truck, Joel told Ellie that he was heading to Wyoming to find his brother. Then he told her that Tommy was a firefly and he would probably know the place where Marlene wanted Ellie to go. It sounded like to me that he was planning on handing Ellie over to Tommy, but that was before Ellie and Joel started bonding.

Yes Marlene put her into the school to keep her safe. She knew Ellie could get killed if anyone found out she was immune. ETA I was wrong in my second sentence 😅

Marlene was unaware that Ellie was immune until the Fireflies went to check on Riley's post and found her there waiting to die. That's why she had her locked up for a week while they ran tests to see if she would turn in episode 1.
