One of the impressive things about John Wick is that he didn't escape harm, he gets hit, shot, dropped off a balcony, sideswiped by a SUV, choked, and stabbed, and he gets back up and keeps going. He's smart enough to get medical help and go to neutral ground while the whole mess is going on. He's tough, smart, trained, experienced, focused and determined. That is the sort of combination that can be disastrous to cross.

@@Brooklyn_Bleek It looked as though they shot the dog in the head, so most likely they dragged the dog’s body to be in front John. They don’t have to know the meaning of the dog, they just did it as a “Haha, we got your car anyways, beat you up, and killed your dog”. The son was very cocky and even saw John as a nobody. So he was being a d-head when they did that. I see the symbolism of the parallel between the dog being besides John as his wife died in his arms (what it looked like from flashbacks). But it’s obvious they killed the dog for yapping to much, shot it in the head, and put it by John to taunt him when we woke up.

There are so many details in the movie... like Aurelio's chop shop. When John walks in, you can see that everyone working there notices him and likely knows who he is. When Aurelio punches Ioseph and Gregori pulls his gun on Aurelio, you can see Victor is looking around and notices everyone in the shop has stopped what they were doing and picking up tools... big wrenches, hammers, etc. and decides to back Gregori down. The dog John Wick takes at the end was scheduled to be euthanized so John saves the dog, to give him a second chance (as well as wanting that second chance from the original dog his wife gave him). John's wife's favorite flower was the daisy, you can see images of daisy flowers all over the house, including the bracelet and dog collar on the night stand as well as the card that came with the dog (named Daisy), etc. This is my favorite action movie of all time... beating out even Die Hard :)

Also if you look close at John's hair when Marcus has him in his crosshairs you will see his hair blow with a puff a wind from right to left. Marcus definitely missed the shot on purpose. Also in the final scene where John is walking away from camera with his new dog, it's the same spot his wife collapsed at during the flashback. Why did he agree ("Consider it done") to the contract with Vigo? It doesn't make sense to me, because both he and Vigo seem to be honest (relatively speaking) characters in this universe. Apparently, it happens for the sole purpose of throwing the audience off -- so I think it's a cheat. And later, why was he obviously so unprepared for the logical retribution he faced for his betrayal of Vigo? This makes no sense to me and detracts from the movie. I guess the writers decided he had to die in order to create a new motive for Wick to go after Vigo, since he'd already made an agreement not to kill him in exchange for the whereabouts of his son.

HEADSHOT!! 😎 Fun Fact: Bacon grease was placed on Keanu Reeves' face to attract his dog to jump on him when he wakes up in bed. Action Star Fact: According to Keanu Reeves, he did 90% of his own stunts in the film. Of course, Reeves learned and memorized the nightclub fight sequence the day that the scene was filmed. Stealth Adaptation Fact: The security guard who waves Wick onto the airport runway is reading the 1970s thriller novel "Shibumi" by Rod Whitaker, under the pen name Trevanian, also about a retired master assassin dragged back into the game. The story Viggo tells about how Wick once killed three men "with a pencil" is describing a crucial scene from the same novel.

You really have to pay attention guys! The Continental is a hotel like no other. In this world, it remains a safe place where no contracts can be carried out. They made that clear in the movie. That’s why Viggo offered Perkins twice the payment for Wick because he was staying on Continental grounds and killing him would be breaking the rules. In order to stay at the Continental you have to be a member and as a member, you understand what the rules are, what the code is. Perkins knew what she was doing, she just thought she would get away with it! She was wrong!

The reason he took the knife to the abdomen in the end is pretty simple. With the punches on his shoulder he’d soon be unable to control the knife. Now he can guide it to a mostly safe area for it to land in. If you look closely it enters quite far into his left side which is mostly safe. It also allows him to break an arm, and get control of the knive, giving him the advantage and nearly assuring the kill.

This trilogy is completely worth it!!! Keep going, PLEASE!!! 😁 A little behind the scenes... Keanu trained for a few months to get really proficient with the guns and fighting, much like he did for the 'Matrix' films. There are videos of him training and he did most of his own stunts in all of these movies, as he did with the 'Matrix' films. In fact, there are 'Matrix' easter eggs all over. Chad Stahelski, who has primary directing credit on all the 'Wick' films, but shared duties with producer David Leitch, is good friends with Keanu and was Keanu's stunt double on 'The Matrix' and stunt co-ordinator on 'Matrix 2 & 3'...he even turns up in a small role in 'The Matrix Ressurections'. The doctor who patched up Keanu in the Continental is Randall Duk Kim, who played The Keymaker in 'The Matrix Reloaded' The main bodyguard to Viggo and Iosef, who threw Keanu off the balcony in the nightclub was Daniel Bernhardt, who played Agent Johnson in 'The Matrix Reloaded' More 'Matrix' easter eggs happen in the next 'Wick' films. The Continental Hotel is a safe space where the hit men and women are not allowed to fight or kill each other (no business on company grounds)...because Miss Perkins broke that rule, she paid for it with her life. This is important to remember throughout the franchise!!! I love your reactions! Keep up the awesome work!!!

Fun Fact: When John goes to the Club to kill the kid and starts with the bodyguard outside, He says, "You've lost weight" and Francis Replied "Over 60 pounds". This was actually a test AND a code between the two. John was testing him to see if he would help him (which is why he lets him go and tells him to take the night off) and Francis replies Over 60 pounds (or 27 kilograms), a code for nearly 27 security guys/henchman protecting the boy. This is also being used in the military forces around to world too. VERY cool way to again show us how much of a badass and how respected John Wick is. Also thee one thing I like about Keanu Reaves is the amount of effort he puts into a role. You can find videos of his training sessions for these movies where he spends countless time at a gun range training with all sorts of guns to the point where he knows how each gun he handles will behave IRL and will actually handle them accordingly for things like checking to ensure the weapons are not jammed. You will see him handle a pistol in the second John Wick movie where he will kinda toss the gun in his hand a little to press down on the chamber because the pistol he is using at that time is known for having bullets getting jammed and is checking the chamber to make sure it is clear enough to fire. Keanu also went through 4 months of training, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day to bring his character to life. He also went through Judo, Japanese Ju-Jutsu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. So Keanu is that accurate and deadly in real life. You can find a few videos of his trainings with a company known as Taran Tactical. Keanu also had help from former Navy SEAL and CIA Contractor Shawn Ryan.

Michael Nyqvist's play is great at this point (when he telling the story of John Wick). Listen carefully to that "Ow" when he finds out what his son has done. It is very enjoyable to see people having the same reaction to seeing John Wick for the first time that I had. About the training for the movies, there are YT videos of Keanu Reeves and Halle Barry training for John Wick 3 at a business that does that type of training. They are doing live fire drills on a timed shooting course. Halle Barry does a very impressive job on the range, but Keanu Reeves does a complicated course in times that are right up there with top level shooters. He is legit doing it with a real gun firing real ammo and he is so good that it is terrifying. On a lighter note, there is a comedian who does short videos called Pitch Meetings where he plays both parts as a screenwriter pitching a movie to a studio executive. They often make fun of the sometimes idiotic things that happen in movies. There is very little of that in John Wick, but it is still my favorite because the writing is so clever, even making fun of its own catchphrase of 'Wow, wow, wow. Wow." Any time you want to end up rolling on the floor laughing, especially if you have just seen John Wick, do a YT search for 'Pitch meeting' and 'John Wick'. Now I want to go watch it again! 🤣

Such a great series of movies! Keanu and the whole cast KILLS it (pun intended)! I love the mythology of the underground assassin scene in these movies. I love the respect they give to each other...before throwing down. I love the rules that exist in this world. The whole reason that Miss Perkins was killed by the Manager of the Continental was because she broke the Continental rules. You can not conduct business on Continental grounds, but she tried to kill John Wick in his Continental room. Also, Marcus (the sniper) was never trying to kill John Wick, he was watching over him. He didn't miss the shot in John's room...he shot on the side of the pillow where Miss Perkins was sneaking around the corner to kill John...gave him the warning he needed to survive that encounter. So many great moments! John Wick 2 & 3 just build onto all of this world. Check them out!

A little clarity on the injuries inflicted, especially towards the end: John got stabbed with the broken bottle in the fight scene with the bodyguard, right before he got thrown over the railing. That's the wound that was getting stitched up during the doctor scene, and the one Ms Perkins was smacking during the hotel room fight scene. During his fight with Viggo, John allowed himself to be stabbed in the same area as his existing wound by Viggo because he knew he'd already taken a stab there and sustained non-fatal injuries, or at least ones not immediately fatal. This allowed him to snap Viggo's arm and get control of the knife, cause why make two holes when you already have a perfectly useful one? When john got the knife, the area he stabbed Viggo wasn't simply his shoulder, but more particularly right behind his collarbone, where a major blood vessel called the subclavian artery sits just underneath, pretty close to the surface. It supplies much of the upper body with blood, and damage to it is very hard to manage and repair. Viggo would have bled out internally before he would have ever made it to a hospital, even if he'd been across the street from one... unless he was incredibly lucky.
