Yes, I was coming to the comments to answer the question about Jon killing a white walker with his sword (not dragon glass). No one knew, until this moment in the show, that Valyrian steel could kill white walkers like dragon glass. However, it makes sense when you know that Valyrian steel swords were embused with magic when they were created. I think the white walker and Jon were both surprised when the sword didn't just fall apart like the regular swords do. Then we see Jon hit the walker and he shatters just like they do with dragon glass.

I knew this moment was coming from the moment Cersei gave the High Sparrow his power because the righteous don't care who you are or what you did for them, they only care for their beliefs. Hey guys I’m so glad you finally got to this episode it’s my favourite of them all. To clear up some of the confusion on the things you asked. The guy with the spiked head is the night king. He is not a white walker he is a powerful evil ancient wizard. He creates the white walkers which are the big powerful guys with the white hair. You might remember in the previous episode where the nights watch stay with a wildling and kill him and they take his baby to the woods. You see a white walker taking the baby to the night king and he touches his face and his eyes turn blue. So the white walkers are the little babies that came from the wildling house and Sam’s girlfriend her baby is actually their brother. To answer asias question on the winter. The saying “winter is coming” refers to the people of the north knowing the night king will eventually get through the wall and bring winter with him. He’s the reason they built the wall to keep winter locked in the north. And lastly BJ is right in that the dead who die in the battles are completely resurrected so the night kings undead army gets all the original zombies plus all the new ones so in this episode it just gained like 100k wildling that the night watch needed to stop the night king but it’s about to get a whole lot crazier I can’t wait till you see the next few episodes.

Hardhome was the first Game of Thrones episode that sent shivers down my spine. Up to this point we’d heard and seen a little bit about the white walkers but this is the point everyone finally realised how big the threat actually was. Seeing the Night King resurrect all the dead was very sobering.

Hardholme is one of my favorite episodes just on sheer creation. It’s not described in the books on what happened but all you know is something really bad happened. The part that really messed me up was when Karsi, the woman wildling that spoke up at the meeting to go with John, saw the children. And you can see the absolute horror on her face as a person and a mother. That an enemy you don’t even know how to fight is killing children and then using them for the horrors that you are seeing around you after you just got your kids to the docks and you don’t know if they are safe or not. The entire episode since the wights start slamming into the doors and walls is absolute chaos. And THE most badass part, in my opinion, is when the Night King walks out on the dock, looks John dead in the eye, and raises his arms and ALL the fallen… wildlings and dead, without even breaking eye contact. An example of what he is capable of, the forces that he has, and the pure attitude of “do something. I dare you. You took out one of my captains… does it look like I care?” And the absolute silence in that moment, and all the way through the credits just… chefs kiss

I could be wrong, but I think the white walkers and the thralls are killed by Dragon Glass, Valyerian Steel, or fire. Jon's sword that he got from Mormont is Valyerian steel (magical steel...may have been infused with magic/dragon fire?)

And, just a little extra trivia, the Wildling society we see is based on the prehistoric Scots, Picts, and Arctic Indigenous Peoples. Physically, Wildlings are supposed to resemble stereotypical Scots as the Roman historian Tacitus described them, having "red-gold hair and massive limbs." Doesn't that sound like Tormund? ❤

Asia is the first reviewer that I have seen who noticed all the red headed wildings. It's be because the wildings are supposed to be the Scottish, lol. The Romans built a wall across Britain in the same place to keep out the "widmen" of Scotland. Unfortunately their wall was only about four feet high, it's just slightly exaggerated for the show.

39:00 Valyrian steel is forged from dragon fire. Dragon glass is glass made from dragon fire. Dragon fire is basically the magical counter to the white walkers and their ice nature. It is interesting Jorah Mormont and Tyrion Lannister were passing through old Valyria when they see Drogon flying overhead and they encounter the stone men.

Asia & BJ - Jon Snow was able to kill the White Walker because his sword was forged from Valyrian steel. Along with dragonglass, Valyrian steel is one of the few known substances that can kill White Walkers, although this property is not widely known, apparently not even to the White Walkers themselves. Since the destruction of Valyria, the majority of the surviving Valyrian steel weapons serve as heirlooms in the various noble houses of Westeros. Also, Theon's new name is "Reek" not "Rick". Ramsay called him Reek because of the stinky smell he gave off after all the abuse from Ramsay Bolton.

The show isn't very clear on Roberts death. But in the books, its pretty much stated that Cersei purposefully had her cousin Lancel get Robert drunk before his hunt so that he would get killed by that boar. So she indirectly had him killed.

This is where White Walkers really go in to the "oh shit, we f'd" zone. One of my favorite episodes of the whole show. Things are put into perspective with a magnifying glass... All of a sudden who sits on the iron throne really doesn't matter all that much. You all gonna die unless these guys are stopped.

The army of the dead are called the Wights can be killed by any weapons but they have to be burned afterwards so they won’t be able to be brought back to life by the Night King the Walker with a crown on his head, the White Walkers are generals of the Night King that is why they why they usually sit on sidelines with their King while they army kills people, the White Walkers and Night King can be killed by either dragon glass or Valerian Steel and this why Jon could kill that White Walker because his sword was a Valerian Steel, did you know guys that the Children of Forest created the Night King and first White Walkers, plus when the Night King brings dead people back to life they became Wights not White Walkers ❤

I'm not exactly sure why Valyrian Steel can kill White Walkers the same as the dragon glass (Obsidian), there may be an explanation somewhere in canon like in the anthology books, I wouldn't know. My best guess is something to do with Old Valyria blacksmiths mixing the Obsidian in with their steel, and/or they used Dragon-fire in the process, possibly. Anyway, it's one of the best scenes in the entire show when Jon finds that out.

I felt soo good when Cersei finally got hers,for every sin she had done,and how she carried herself after doing it,she is just pure evil on 2 legs. Yeah what BJ said about the whitewalkers,when the winter is coming the whitewalkers are coming,and thats why everyone else fears what is coming. Because noone has managed to fight them off. And each time theyr own people fall,they turn into whitewalkers. And this last episode here is when you got to finally see theyr King,see how the top of his head is almost spiked as a crown on his head? Thats the big man right there,the whitewalker that controls them all and is the most powerful of them all. I still dont handle too well seeing Sansa under physical and mental discomfort and pain with Ramsay,that really twists and turns emotions inside of me. No matter how many times i have seen Game Of Thrones over,i still cant get over it. Sansa is one of my absolute favourites. I like how BJ thinks regarding Daenerys/Khaleesi and Jorah Mormont,i also believe that shes still hurt and disappointed towards what he did. That its simply difficult to just forgive and move past it,at least for now. He probably has ways to go before she has trust in him again. Also interesting to see Arya under full training right now,not just training for the body but for the mind. You got to wonder what this turns out to be for Arya in the end? Because her mentor right now seems to be a S tier assassin,based purely upon what you have seen up till this point,every problem Arya mentioned to him,he pretty much solved. And he changes identity like its nothing,with the "many faces". He granted her like 3 wishes or something,and he solved whatever problem she had,wich has me believing that he saw great potential in Arya from the moment theyr paths crossed. This tv series really has you locked in! It makes you mad,it makes you laugh,it makes you happy,it makes you sad and teary eyed and it has you fully locked in because of the thrilling action and suspence.....it just has it all!
