It's in this season your going to realize exactly how much positivity and happiness Susannah brought to the show. Not that we didn't already know that but this season really put it in prospective since this season is has a way more serious tone and not at light-hearted and happy as season 1 because of the loss of Susannah.

I don't really understand when people compare the reactions to the kiss and try and say Conrad was more mature etc. The situations are completely different. Conrad has no reason to be mad at her, because it's pretty obvious that Belly is choosing him. Jeremiah's reaction is completely valid because Belly is yet another person choosing Conrad over him, that and the fact that he found out his mom had cancer less than a day ago pretty much everything has gone wrong for him in the space of a day. Both reactions are completely valid according to the different situations.

exactly, Jere's feelings are overlooked. Belly is the only person that truly sees him. She did betray him and he lost the trust of his best friend and the girl he's in love with in the same person hours after finding out his mother has cancer and is dying. On top of that he has felt like second best to EVERYONE in his life and now suddenly he's losing the one person he thought really understood and cared for him to Conrad, "everyone's favorite and the most favored". I will always love and appreciate Jeremiah Fisher. And he was right for that Cancer comment because it was just bad timing to tell him something like that. He was not guilt tripping here. If her were, what did he guilt tripping her into doing lmao? People don't wanna admit it but 95% of the time Jeremiah states all facts in his arguments (the party, the flat tire fight and the one I spoke about before. He's mostly always right. They just don't wanna hear the truth. I say this all the time, he really doesn't have a lot to apologize for honestly. His heart and soul are precious. He gives so much and gets nothing in return. He also knew that Conrad would break Belly's heart. He's her best friend and he loves her with his whole heart. His reaction was 100% valid.

The person Conrad is actively dating and probably sleeping with when he was about to kiss Belly. We can’t assume Conrad felt the same way as Belly when he’s also involved with someone else. Lots of guys cheat on their girlfriends and it means nothing to them. My guess is that Jere knows how fickle Conrad is and didn’t want Belly to get hurt and hence set off the firework. Conrad may be his brother but Belly is his best friend and not for nothing if I knew how shitty my sibling could be would I let someone I truly care for and are best friends with get involved with them…the answer is no…I would tell them the real deal and let them make their own decision from there. I think Conrad fans are a little too mesmerized by those pouty lips (although I think Chris Britney is a phenomenal actor and genuinely like his real personality).

They really did show us three very different ways of grieving. Steven is trying to move past everything, he's a valedictorian, he's going to prestigious college, great grades. Belly is opposite (remember how passionate she was about volley?) - she's off the team, her grades are down, she's living in the past. Laurel is in complete denial, neither here nor there, she can't read Susannah's letter right away, and at any notice of Susannah she tries to make herself busy with something else.

Love your reaction, I agree that Jeremiah's reaction wasn't right. My problem always with Jere is that he knew, always had known, that Belly has a thing for Conrad for years and then found out Conrad liked her back (the firework scene), but still hooked up with her. To me it just seems like he's insecure and competitive towards Conrad. (Yes, I know Belly chose to go to Jere after rejection but isn't there some sort of underlying code that if your brother likes a girl, she's off limits?)

Everyone has known belly liked Conrad SINCE SHE WAS 10 and yet Conrad never tried to make anything out of that. So Jere decides that he wants to take a chance and ask her if she could ever like him back and she said yes and kissed him. Was the firework petty… yes but he’s a teenager and jealous. It was up to belly to say no or at least talk to Jere about how she was feeling. His reaction was totally valid.

People crucify Jere for bringing up his mothers cancer when he literally found out like 15hrs ago. It’s totally relevant and he’s totally valid for feeling and expressing that. Everything went downhill for him in the course of 24 hours. Also why would conrad react the way Jere did when he’s GETTING the girl. Conrad didn’t start anything with belly before hand so it’s not really a betrayal. But besides that I always look forward to you guys reactions! I have many thoughts on the behaviour of all characters this season and i just try to remember at the end of the day, they're all still kids, and they're all hard core grieving, they should be coming together but sadly they dont have a strong support network of adults to help them through it. We all know Adams frigging useless. Laurel would be amazing if it was anyone other than Susannah who died, but she's not coping enough herself to be able to adequately support the kids. We dont see much of John & hes obviously pro therapy, yet none of them seem to be actually getting therapy which they all desperately need. Belly makes a number of decisions this season that had me screaming "No! Stop! What are you thinking!!" But shes only 17 and all those huge feelings of familial love and loss, romantic love, normal horny teenager stuff, intense friendships is all mixed in to one big messy ball right now. I know i wouldn't have handled her situation amazingly at that age either.

This season is so good! It’s definitely Jeremiah’s season. I think you’ll end up understanding him a lot more as it goes on. He’s gone through a lot. I think he had every right to react the way he did in this episode. Belly betrayed him big time. He had just gotten the worst news of his life about his mom, then the girl who he thought he was with, immediately dumps him for his brother. He loves Belly, not just romantically, but as a best friend too. To add onto that, he’s always felt second best to Conrad, and now the girl he loves is choosing Conrad over him as well. I would be just as angry as him if I were in his situation. A large section of this fandom has a habit of not taking Jeremiah’s feelings seriously and holding him to a much higher standard. It’s very disappointing and disrespectful. I’m sure you guys won’t do that, but I’m just making you aware.

I absolutely agree with everything you said here, I mean I've been team Jeremiah since book 1 and so I think I've seen every argument used against Jeremiah ever lol. You're right, a lot of people think only Conrad is allowed to have feelings. Jeremiah's feelings aren't only overlooked by by the Bonrads but also the characters in the show. Conrad, Steven and even Susannah does it. Both the Conklin and Fisher families favor Conrad. Jere is neglected and underappreciated. Belly is the only person that truly sees him. Conrad is the one who acted like a dick to Belly after they almost kissed and pushed her away. Jere even waited until after she broke up with Cam before admitting his feelings. He was completely honest with her and asked if she could feel the same way. Belly said yes, and pursued something with him. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Jere having fun and hooking up with people when he was single. Jeremiah had deeper feelings for Belly, which is why he never pursued anyone else seriously. Jeremiah is actually the only person who hasn’t basically cheated on his partner in some way. And I also don't wanna hear this argument that they weren't "together" because in reality if you started something romantic with your BEST FRIEND and then that person turned around and suddenly started dating your BROTHER hours after you found out your mother had cancer you'd be pretty hurt and pissed too. He told her his feelings and she accepted they kissed for several days and then she kisses her brother a few hours after Jere learns that his mother is sick and that same brother she kissed behind his back, and just before she kissed Jere which is gross, hid the truth from him. And the fact that Belly didn't even come to comfort him after. And yes Belly made a mess by going towards one then towards the other. If you don't know what you want then don't be with anyone rather than going back and forth. That's why I hate love triangles, especially when it's with a girl who is hesitant because there's often cheating and everyone finds reasons to justify it.

Conrad really didn't care about Jeremiah's feelings and it shows a lot this season. "It's Jere he never takes anything too seriously". Sadly, this is also a trend with other characters in the show like Steven and so on. Also, what did people expect Jeremiah's reaction to be? People expect him to just smile and move on like nothing happened at all. They treat him as if he has no feelings at all. Only Conrad is allowed to have feelings and it's so sad to watch. Honestly, it makes me upset. Jeremiah's feelings are overlooked so much. Belly was HIS BEST FRIEND WHO HE'S IN LOVE WITH and she told him she kissed his brother. Jere's better than me fr. I could use the same argument in reverse. Jeremiah didnt care about Conrad in the first season when he saw they were about to kiss and made a move the next day? What kind of brother does that? He was aware of their feelings and he still decided to get in between them. If I saw my brother about to kiss a girl, the last thing Id do is pursue her. Even if I had feelings before, because thats isnt right. Jeremiah knew all of that and acted so selfishly with his brother. He invalidated his feelings first. And now hes hurt? Also Jere always hooked up with people and never committed so thats why after Conrad found out they kissed, he said "Jere never takes things too seriously" (valid honestly). I know everyone loves to talk about how Jere’s reaction was less mature than Conrad’s, but Conrad’s reaction is kind of messed up. If I liked a boy and we kissed and then I found out that he’d been flirting with my sister and kissing her, I’d be pissed on my sister’s behalf. Like that’s messed up, you don’t treat siblings like that. Conrad immediately moves on to “be with me” and let’s ignore my brother’s feelings about all this, I don’t know that says a lot about Conrad’s character to me, and his respect, or lack thereof, towards his brother.

I think you need to reverse that lol. Conrad didn't realise they were kissing until Belly told him and when he found out Jere was upset he stepped back. Jere however saw that they were getting together, decided to shoot them with a firework and then gaslit Nicole into making plans with Conrad to get him out of out of town, and then he went after Belly himself lol. After all this he still acts surprised when she says she wants to be with Conrad? I mean it wasn't exactly a secret, the whole blasted family knew 😂 How do people seem to overlook these facts? Remember until Belly everyone's description of Jere was fun, flirty, carefree, un-bothered and just enjoyed life with a smile. Even Belly didn't take him seriously at first. Conrad probably didn't think Jeremiah was that serious or that he'd really care too much. He may have not liked the idea of stepping back but he did it and he did it without an argument. He gave her the necklace and stepped back.

jere's reaction was totally appropriate, he found out his mom had cancer and went straight to his brother to only find out his brother knew but kept it from him and that same night, THE SAME NIGHT Conrad kisses belly and then the next freaking morning Belly tells Jere she kissed his brother like obvi he's gonna be mad, and comparing Connie and Jere's reactions to finding out belly kissed them both are completely different, belly kissed Jere before Connie, obvi he's gonna feel betrayed she kissed him first, led him on to believe that they might become something and dropped him the morning after he finds out his mom's cancer came back.

To be fair, im team Jare here. He just found out his mom has cancer again, he is upset still that his older brother didn't told him about it, he thought his best friend was into him too. Belly and Conrad were very disrespectful here. He gets jealous and prevents a kiss and pushes Conrad and Nicole together. You can't really compare Jeremiah's and Conrad's reactions though. Conrad found out Belly was seeing his brother BEFORE him. Jere found out Belly kissed his brother WHILE DATING HIM. She cheated on Jere, she didn't cheat on Conrad. The reactions make sense. Conrad was feeling like the chosen one, and Jere was betrayed not only by the girl he loves, but also his best friend and his brother. Very fair reaction if you ask me.
