Thanks for sharing this brief but powerful clip from 1991's "The Man in the Moon". Very good film. Strong story and excellent cast. And Reese Witherspoon's impressive film debut ! Reese's character was lucky to suffer only four licks after what she'd done (causing an accident that put her pregnant mom in the hospital). Later in the film she talks about it with her dad, apologizing for her actions. He gives her a huge hug & it's clear they've forgiven each other. The father is somewhat strict & a man of few words; but he's a hard worker, good provider & clearly loves his family deeply. Thanks again.....and spanks for the memories ! 🙂

I know everyone has their opinion on discipline I don’t find physical punishment is. You are actually teaching your child to hit and beat out of anger especially if it’s your own pet. I remember being beaten with the belt to where I couldn’t even move I had marks all over my arms and legs I had trouble focusing in school cause of the beatings cause I would think about it constantly. I do not miss being a child but the memories still hurt today.
