Great interview, it's a shame that the media hounded Mark out of a job at Forest, he seems a really good guy
@thesedreamsarefree4 ай бұрын
I don't see what the fuss was about. If you want advice on a legal issue you hire a lawyer, if you want advice on a refereeing issue hire an ex-referee. He was advising the club about refereeing decisions, he had no power to change those decisions or influence any of the referees involved. Gary Neville was ranting about bringing the competence of referees (and VAR) into question, yet TV pundits do that week in week out and the influence they have over public opinion and maybe the way referees view themselves through the public spotlight, is far greater than any Clattenburg had. Referees probably feel more pressure from week in week out media scrutiny than they did from Mark Clattenburg. Neville had no right to tell a football club who they should or shouldn't employ. If Forest were breaking any rules then it's up to the football authorities not Gary Neville to question or sanction them about it. As it is Gary Neville doesn't speak on behalf of either The Premier League, The FA or PGMOL. If Forest fall foul of either of those organisations, which they may have with some of the post Everton comments, then I'm sure they'll know about it. It's good that this controversy has been created because without it would have been business as usual. At least now refereeing standards, as well as how clubs are allowed to conduct themselves, will be examined and hopefully improved on. Forest and Wolves have done football a favour by kicking down the door and letting some air in. The introduction of VAR and its inconsistencies has been a failure.

What would happen if social media starting asking for Neville and Carragher to lose their jobs ? Neville is a disgrace.

Great interview. Integrity is everything and perhaps the likes of Neville should question themselves. Little wonder Forest are taking legal action here. On the pitch, the decisions were an embarrassment and Forest were spot on in highlighting the massive issues at the heart of the game here

Id love to know who he thinks these "very good referees" are, I saw Hackett earlier in the season he was asked if he'd help PGMOL if asked, his reply " I don't think so, id struggle to stand in front of the current PL referees knowing most of them aren't good enough o be there "

Refereeing in Egypt 100% directed, I've made a clip of the referee's bias to Zamalek at The Classic derby with al ahly, the clip went viral on Facebook After 3 months Mr Clattenburg announced as a head of refereeing I replied instantly to his tweet with the clip link to show him what he is about to work with They reported the clip for copyright claims in less than an hour 😂 after being viral for 3 months Who manages the media is the same guy who runs football in Egypt and it's pretty ugly Zamalek went to win back to back domestic double while can't go through the group stage in African CL for those 2 years He made a huge difference in refereeing performance so they pushd him to leave I have a question to Mr Clattenburg, Leicester vs United 5-3 game... What happened that match ? You and your assistances were too biased against United

Clattenburg is a good guy. But he is talking nonsense about the Forest stuff. The whole world hates referees and being employed to whip up further criticism of them represents a betrayal of his profession.

Really poor interview from Ben. Really bad. He even looked totally disinterested at times. Such a boring interview too - just recycling the same stuff again and again. I stopped after one hour. That was enough.

Staggering lack of awareness to take that role in the first place, the most ridiculous job title and role ever in football, why do Nottingham forest need you to tell them what should have been a penalty or not afterwards 😂 what difference does it make? Or to tell them to hold on to the ball for drop balls!! I think these pros these days know every trick in the book anyway mark you tool
