Refinishing Companionway Slats on a Catalina 27

These slats have been long overdue for some love. One day just decided to do it. I think they came out pretty good. Now will have to do the remaining trim on the boat, so it looks as good.

Can "Spar Varnish" be put ontop of Teak Oil to protect it?

I did that one year and it turned black after about three months.

Teak oil does pretty good in the Puget Sound area. Lasted a couple of years but I’m not that picky. I going to do the same as this but put spar varnish on the exterior side. Looks really good.

@@princeelwood, One of my 3rd generation boating friends told me all about using multiple coats of Oil, as in like 7-8 coats. He says it lasts forever... sort of, but looks like shiny varnish and self levels and everything really well.
