All your videos are great. Tip when you are caulking a seam, instead of pulling the gun towards you try pushing away. I know this sounds counter intuitive. but i find I get a better fill and much less clean-up.

Hi Larry, not sure if the supplier I used in the video (Teak Decking Systems) sells their panels retail or not. I'd try giving them a call. Otherwise I know that there are suppliers that will do this. If I remember correctly figure roughly $60/SF for the materials (ouch). It would be much less expensive to look at a teak and rubber plywood rather than using solid wood..

I appreciate the method of trimming the bungs. I have always sanded them and it takes forever. I was surprised to see that you can sand the caulk and then get the finish to adhere. Is that a non silicone based caulk?

Great channel! I have a sailboat that has teak seats(it's the solid plywood teak that is glued in place) in the cockpit. It was not installed properly and is lifting in the corners. Do you have any recommendations for pulling the teak off and re-bedding it properly? What material would you use? Many thanks and keep on posting!!!!

Nice job. I used to work for a company that made deck panels for yachts around the world. We had the deck patterns sent to us in wooden crates, we made the deck panels, then crated them up and shipped them back to the boat builders. Quite interesting work really.

Nice work. Interesting and informative, but don't you need to wear a mask when working epoxy? Many years ago the supplier ran out of PUR casting, so we had to cover those circuit boards with epoxy. That gave me the most magnificent head ace I ever had.

Great Video. Very informative. Can you elaborate on sealing the perimeter border to the deck? Curious about long term weather tightness at perimeter. Would it serve to use the same black sealant at the edge of the border to fiberglass location? Also how does thick pre-fab deck system lend itself to a contoured surface that isn’t so flat? Thank you.

The chisel I used is a Japanese style called a crank neck chisel. The other tool I used is called a rotary sander or random orbit sander. Some sanders are able to be hooked to a vacuum while others just use a small filter. The ones that hook to a vacuum work much better at keeping dust down, but they also cost a lot more :-( Hope this helps!
