Im a fan of gemmo and his a very good refinisher and love watching him do a very nice job. the diffference between me and all the painters around the glove is, i do spot repainting all types of metallci colors without wet bed. no motling , no halo . thumbs up for the auto refinishing network guys.

When blending into adjacent panel would that whole panel be sanded off as a key for the top coat which would be applied to the whole panel. Or is there a clear base coat that etches to the OEM paint.

Why go through all that trouble when the bumper probably doesnt match perfect anyways and insurance companies aren't going to pay for that. I thought it looked good. When you're a production painter in a busy collision center you have to keep cars moving or you won't have a job. Yes colors have to match but bumpers don"t have to be a perfect match all time. Didnt you hear him say he wasnt happy the door handle wasnt removed? See a lot of you guys dont realize that the painter has to do what the boss wants in order to keep his/her job. He even said he would rather have had the bumper removed or loosened up. I think he did a killer job in my opinion.

It seems like most body shops from my experience, even the luxury brand owned, really do shit work. I recently had a new C63 with a bumper repainted and there were still sand marks visible that had been clear coated. Most painters seem inexperienced, poorly trained, and not supervised.

Se que el poder cubriente de la pintura a base agua es exelente,con una mano húmeda y luego una media para uniformar el color en este caso habria bastado, pero no fue asi. Quiza entonces dos manos húmedas y una tipo neblina y listo, pero no fue asi. Cada quien con su tecnica. El sistema value shade, ( base o primario)aún en pinturas a base agua sigue siendo importante, un tono mas gris oscuro habria ayudado para igualar el color difuminadolo sin tantas manos como en este video. Lo demás, bien echo... Bien!!! Sagola.

There are different type of blending products like where I work we use dbc500 it’s a color blender but don’t ever spray thinner onto a car you’ll ruin it, only use thinner to clean out your gun

Very often the bumper comes from the factory a different colour. So you have to maintain that difference.

wetbed its basically a blender so that when you spray on top of the wetbed its making it reduced and helping the panel to lose any color difference honestly i barely ever use a wetbed what i do with difficult colors is my first coat i would spray normal 2 coat i would reduce it 25% and 3 coat would be my effect coat and i reduce that by 50% idk if that helps your question

If you put it on too wet, I've seen it. It's also very sensitive to how the panel is cleaned and dried after. The newest Glasurit one is way more forgiving, it's called M50.

@@haughteyify i usually reduce the paint as i go on meaning 1 coat i would apply the paint 2 coat i would reduce it 25% and the 3 coat 50% applying it as an effect coat that usually works great for me

Steven Citizen I barely started painting about to complete a year but when I went to the course of ppg they teach to do that on the last coat effect coat but I was talking to another painter and mentioned this to mean so I tried honestly never do I get cloud spots or lines. Ppg is super delicate paint and hasn’t so I think it should be fine you might be right cus they didn’t teach to do it like that but I notice with this method it was coming out even throughout the job give it a try what brand do u paint with?

Always been a Devilbiss bottom feed guy myself. Still have my 32 year spray guns to this day. I dont want to criticise but this was not the most efficient way to paint this job. Why you are spraying the top of the quarter panel and along the top of the door frames? such a waste of paint. It is such a small area of primer that you should just cover and flick out with each coat. Next coat same except expand that coat a little wider and again flick out. Spray your lacquer and expand this a little again on the final coat. Spray fading thinners between wet coat and where you have not painted to fade. This avoids a difference in colour between panels although the masked bumper if painted might (or might not) match. Oh and try and spray uniformly. Second application of base has you spray base on the door and at various angles before then spraying the quarter panel. Instead spray the area as one area and in a left to right, right to left movement.

That was wet bed he sprayed on the door and quarter. You sound extremely inexperienced. NO ONE in the industry uses a suction feed guns because they waste paint . He painted the whole tail because you don't want to burn in the clear . Just sit and look dumb but don't open your mouth and sound dumb.

No need of using Blending coats if you fully understand automotive or industrial match painting. And guns make no difference. Painters make the difference. I would use any clean spray gun and achieve the same results.
