Refitting a small boat.- introduction

This video is the first of our new series on refitting a 1973 Colvic Atlanta. She is a 31 foot long Ketch sailing yacht. Stripped out by her previous owner, I purchased her as a project in May 2023.
This will be a ground up refit with pretty much every system on the boat needing a complete replacement.

Glad you’re doing some more videos, thought it might be the end with selling the boat, we’ve just bought a boat down south keeping at Chichester marina, live up here, work on the lock at south Ferriby every now and then. Looking forward to the new series.

Oh she's solid alright. Put a hole saw into an internal bulkhead to make a route for some new cabling... 25mm ply epoxy bonded onto the hull... For the wardrobe!!!

Its a shame we never got to sail together Szymon - but at lease we did get to meet face to face.. I'm planning to sail the new boat all the way round the UK when its done - and a stopover at Haslar will almost certainly be on the itinerary.

Great Video. Looking forward to how your new project develops . Just a pity there won’t be any of your, very useful, pilotage videos. Oh well there can still be more best sarnie competitions as you both work on the new boat. Good luck with it. Is it your aim to get the boat in the water for the 2024 season ?

42hp from a 1.7l diesel. How on earth did they tune it so that it could produce so little power!? 🤣
