She most likely also had pitch correction. Technically auto-tune is everywhere. It is needed because not everyone can sing the same notes each time. Most people use lip syncs in live performances when they need to dance a lot and wont have enough breath support as they had when in the recording booth. Plus, what you percieve as autotune akin to keisha's tick tock was a conscious decision. Singers with songs like that intended to have that effect. Also, maybe sometimes people lip sync because they need a vocal rest to not permanently damage their vocal chords. All in all, singers are also people, you cant expect them to churn out the best they can for hours on end without them degrading in quality little by little till there is none left to wring out of them. A good example of what happens when people like you actually think that pitch correction and lip syncing is less superior to singing au natural should rewatch the les mis movie. That movie took singing live and naturally to the whole level. Yes theyre acting was fantastic but listen to only their voices by themselves. Hugh jackman was in flipping broadway and he sounded like a donkey throughout jean valjean's soliloquy. That is the result of having people without pitch correction do takes for 8 to 10 hours at a time when they couldve finished it at 3 and added slight pitch correction in very minor key mistakes. Sorry this took way to long, but im sick and tired of people always saying that lip syncing and pitch correction is wrong, when its there to give you a better performance. Tldr: yes singing au natural is good, but also, lip syncing and pitch correction arent the spawns of the devil himself and you should appreciate it more for the sake of our entertainer's well being

I am a GenXer and know that the masa crowd did not like her then because she was seen as arrogant and burgis, being part of Repertory Philippines as well. However, my sis was and still is a big fan of Lea. I was not into Filipino showbiz then but I recognized Lea's talent and felt bad for her when she was boo'd as the opening act of a Menudo concert. I was happy for her when she did Miss Saigon because I knew it was a perfect fit for her talent that will never be appreciated in the Philippines because pinoys tend to favor the birit style.
