its getting better and better , as you say exciting times for sure , love to see it remove glare from leaves in woodlands and reflections in water , polarisers could be a thing of the past soon enough
@glyndewisАй бұрын
TBH I'd always consideer using a polariser for the fear of the software not 'fixing' the issue when it's too late. This for me is an incrddiblyuseful piece of technology for times when I simply didn't have a polariser.

What's more impressive to me is that you can view the complete isolated reflection without the actual background.

Thanks for the great explanation and video. Everyone is giving this a standing ovation, and it is amazing. I do understand it is a Technology.Preview and hopefully they will fix a problem that I have discovered, that no one seems to be talking about. If you use Denoise on the same image in Camera Raw before or after doing The reflection removal some of the reflection will return. I wonder if anything else in Camera Raw breaks this tool.
@glyndewisАй бұрын
This is probably because very few people are experiencing this. I have just tried Denoise on one of the Raw files I show in the video (the garden image) and then Reflection Removal and it worked exactly the same. More than happy to post a video showing this.

Be interesting to see how this works on images with lens flare! Pretty sure it would work 😊
@rogerbeltz2370Ай бұрын
Definitely a "WOW factor" in advanced technology...........but gee, it takes all the tedious, meticulous time consuming efforts we used to have to do. It is, however, still in the "sneak preview" stage of development. Unfortunately I won't live long enough to see or use these amazing developments.......... Actually I jumped on KZbin to find a quick and effective way to remove annoying reflections on a car's shiny paint but no amazing "point & shoot" solutions found. Something for you to work on Glyn when you're lying awake and unable to get to sleep - lol.

I not able to to remove reflections on my RAW files even with the technology switched on not sure why?
@trevagerАй бұрын
Amazing how this technology can even work out what is and what isn't a reflection It would take hours in Photoshop to manually get anywhere near these results.

Absolutely mate. Very clever stuff.

Using the newest version. Function shows but it won’t work with Canon .CR3 raw files

Try converting them to DNG for now and try that
@greatphotos62Ай бұрын
@@glyndewisWill try, thanks!
@stevenanthony578Ай бұрын
Given that window reflections are similar in light quality to lens flare, I think you'll find "remove reflections" also reduces lens flare.

Tried but got error message: "unable to remove reflections." Any suggestions?
@peterstewart7004Ай бұрын
When I tried to fix a Nikon NEF file I get the error that it is an incompatible format. I then used Adobe coverter to a DNG file, that worked, but the fix was very little and most reflection not removed. .
@glyndewisАй бұрын
Have you read the Adobe Blog I mention about limitations of use ... at the moment? I wonder if your image was not compatible yet because of what was included eg window frame, window too smallm window far away etc... ?
@peterstewart7004Ай бұрын
@@glyndewis No Glyn I don't think so. The window is about 70% of the image and about 30% of the window has a strong reflection. Maybe that is still not be enough for Photoshop to fix it but why does it tell me the NEF file is of an "incompatible format". Maybe just a wrong error message. Anyhow, seems at this stage the photo must perfectly fit the Adobe requirements or it won't fix it. Trust that will change soon.

I'm very much looking forward to when the reflection in eye glasses can be removed.

Yet another great feature, but I'm a club photographer so can't use Gen AI, so need to better understand the difference between AI and Gen AI.
@glyndewisАй бұрын
Gen AI populates with pixels from other images; this AI is inteligently analysing the image to identify cotent that should be present and that which shouldn't (the relfection) and then applying an edit to remove the reflection
@MajMin7Ай бұрын
This is not Gen AI.

@glyndewisАй бұрын
Nice one
@SuperbustrАй бұрын
Yes quick reflection removal is a nice feature. But honestly, Photoshop needs to get their act together and fix all of the software glitches and crashes first. I can't use the latest version of photoshop with this feature if the menu bar keeps freezing on me....
@glyndewisАй бұрын
To be fair when issues aren’t widespread it is a challenge to fix them straight away. Issues do and will get resolved but in the mean time for the majority, new technology is very welcome.

To go against the grain slightly here. While I would agree that the technology is very clever. It seems to me that it could make a photographer become very lazy and unskilled. Accepting any old rubbish knowing that the software will fix it?
@glyndewisАй бұрын
If that's the case then I would suggest "that" photographer was lazy and unskilled anyway and this would have been evident in other areas of their work. If anyone accepts any old rubbish and just expects software to fix it then they are not long for this 'creative world' 😉
