When a man who had no friends was asked why this happened, he responded, "Friendship is like a diamond. It's rare, expensive, and there are a lot of fakes. If you made one mistake, then a second and a third, at some point you would say, 'There are no real diamonds in the world. There are only fakes."
And another man added: "A friend is a person to be valued and treasured, but unfortunately there are rarely any friends in life you can really value."

no offense but this sounds like cope, isnt it like a basic human instinct/desire to want to socialize? Edit: y’all are disagreeing with me so I feel like ur not understanding. For those of u who have been outcast or put down by “friends” in the past, grow up, life throws shit at u, just get up and keep walking, if u have had bad experiences with trying to have friends that doesn’t mean u should give up on trying to make friends. Finding the right friend group that’s filled with quality friends is only a matter of how hard u try. Having real friends does not make your life less peaceful, and if that’s the case, they’re not your real friends, don’t be content on being a loner just because no one wants to be your friend. Having true friends is one of the most beautiful things in life, and yes it’s hard to achieve that, but don’t let the difficulty discourage you from trying to make friends, it is very possible to have perfect friends, just look in the right places, and in some cases, own up to the fact that maybe you are the reason your friends of the past dropped u, everyone has issues and if your issues caused u to lose friends, then you should work to solve your problems rather than just saying you’re okay with being alone, because no one likes loneliness, and whoever says that they are fine with being lonely clearly hasn’t experienced loneliness.

@@niqk8712 I was extremely social all my life until I got to my 30s. Then I began craving the peace of just being home alone. I really actually enjoy being by myself, and I believe quite a lot of other people do to. Once you go to work and are forced to interact with people, or go to appointments or meetings or whatever, it's a wonderful feeling to come home and just be peaceful and quiet. You're only your absolute true self when you're alone. But, I do know people who need much more social interaction. Seems exhausting to me! 😂

I had a best friend since I was about 7 yrs. old....like a brother to me (so I thought). I went thru a divorce in my mid-30s and I used to call him almost everyday, often in the middle of the night for solace (he lived in another state). He was always there for me getting out of bed at 2am to listen to my mental anguish. He died at 43 yrs. old about 4 yrs. after my divorce and his death took me to my knees once again. Time moved on and many years after I began to put complicated pieces of the puzzle together, piece by piece and I then saw it all. He was a instrumental in "orchestrating circumstances" that resulted in the divorce --I never saw it or conceived of that possibility at the time. He answered my distress calls because he was loving to hear the pain and sucking up the negative energy---he fed off it. He was a Freemason which meant nothing to me at the time but opened the door to reality once I learned of the "brotherhood." In retrospect he actually did me favors. His lies separated me from a narcissistic wife and his death liberated me from "medicated pain."

Solitude is golden and not to be confused with loneliness.
@warthogA10
@warthogA10 6 ай бұрын
It's so bizarre the number of people who are concerned that I'm "lonely" They're so concerned that they insist I'm lonely and just won't admit it, or I'm in denial. They'll say they feel so sad for me, knowing I'm alone 🤔 This is due to the constant brainwashing of the general population that they have to be constantly socializing, around people etc. There are even studies and "scientific documents" stating that humans are social by nature. All to the point where those who prefer to be alone are viewed as odd, or someone to be suspicious or wary of... "What's their deal?" It is labeled as a "social disorder"... The reality behind this, is that people who are a true introvert, or who aren't easily brainwashed, manipulated and controlled on a social level, tend to think independently, and clearer than others who are drawn into the trap, and the fog of constant propaganda. and propaganda isn't just about or related to only politics, it can be used to create a desired society for elitist types. a society which is easily mass manipulated and controlled. We're basically potentially dangerous to the overall program, which is why we have to be placed.in and categorized in a certain way which makes others feel uneasy and untrusting of us. If anyone reads all this, most will view it all as "crazy talk", because that's what they're programmed to think. The entire subject is all about creating an easily manipulated and controllable general population... regardless of how long it takes, the goal is set, and those involved want to be a part of the group which succeeded in that accomplishment. It is part of the driving force in their lives.

Once I was out of hospital the common excuse was "I hate hospitals". Yeah well try staying in one for a length of time. It made me realise that these weren't true friends, just those who hang on for the benefits of someone who's always there for them. No thanks. Now my best friend is my German Shepherd. He has a terrible history of abuse and neglect. He never had a friend who cared for him. Now he does and he appreciates me. My only hope is that I outlive him. This can be easily influenced by current circumstances and not necessarily an accurate reflection of reality or our worth. Everyone at some point will experience moments of self-doubt and feelings of not being valued. But remember this: your value does not decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth!!! We all have intrinsic value, and sometimes it takes time for the right people to come into our lives who can truly appreciate us. Use this time to explore and understand your own worth, develop self-love and self-respect, pursue the things you are passionate about, surround yourself with positivity, and do what makes you feel happy. And always remember, it's okay to ask for help if you're feeling particularly low. Reach out to someone you trust and let them know what you're going through, it could make a huge difference! Exactly! I'd much rather be alone (not lonely, BIG DIFFERENCE). I can focus all my energy and time on the things I want, without having to play mind games with "friends". The older I get, the more I realise most people deep down don't give a shit about you. There will be some people who do, those people I absolutely keep in my life. But it's VERY RARE. If you ever have a bad feeling in your stomach about your friends, it's probably true. Listen to that gut feeling people. I should've done it sooner, so many times, with so many people. Learn to enjoy life on your own, if you can pull that off, like I finally have, NOTHING can fucking stop you. 💙

I had a friend like this. Called him my best friend and so did he. I helped him through the death of his mom, an always lingering drug addiction, talked him out of psychosis more times then I care to remember, made him a bed, renovated his house, .... He never did anything for me, but I didn't mind, always thought it wasn't necessary. He needed peptalk after peptalk and I was there. Gave him good solid usable advice to get his life in order. He always went back to his old ways after promising he d follow the advice on his mom, dad, life,... After years I finally admitted to myself that he was completely self centered, bit crazy even. He lied all the time, believing his own lies. I cut him out of my life. He was using so much of my energy my own life fell apart. If you want, take my advice: act sooner.

But then there's the question: do you need a friend on whom you can depend to be friendly and supportive in the emotional sense, but who can confer you no tangible benefit at all, no "apples", no "branches", no nothing - a friend who is poor themself but IS still a good friend? A friend like that could only hug you and offers words of sympathy when you need money, or house, or a boat - but nothing to help you with your woes. @@SilosNogatte can you stop yourself from beating yourself and blaming yourself for being unable to help a friend in a genuine need, when you have no resources to, though? i sometimes think that things like "friendship" evolved in human society when people were much more equal in their access to resources, so it was "either you can count on your friend, or you're in such a trouble that no one could help you anyway." If you are beaten by bandits, a friend can oil your wounds and help you get to place of healing. If a crocodile bit off both of your legs, your friend can hardly help you - but so hardly can anyone else. Nowadays it seems natural to either feel your own guilt, or anger at a society, when your friend is in need, buy you are empty-handed. Dealing with that sort of guilt, it's... not easy.

I understand the apple tree. A few years back I had a wonderful friend after having been married to a man who never talked to me and was never fun to be with. He'd often say hurtful things to me. I had been so lonely, being married for 28 years to that man. We moved a lot, so by the time I'd make a new friend we were having to move again. One day he left, and I was glad he was no longer in my life. Several years after he left I met a guy who was so sweet, so kind, so thoughtful, so loving, and so much fun. I felt my prince charming had finally been sent to me. But after a few years he met some other women and he started to forget about me. Now he doesn't talk to me anymore... he's so busy with them. It broke my heart. I began to feel like the apple tree. Now as I go forward in life, I tell myself that God is watching over me and caring about me. I kinda would like to meet a new friend who would be wonderful in my life, but I'm a little jaded!

When I was younger I had so many friends that I think I took to many for granted. They all seemed to be genuine and Real. Looking back I think that I should have been a more caring and tolerant of them. Now that I'm in my early 60s I live alone with my 18 plus year old Cairns terrier.i have a handful of ( Friends) but when I think about it do. Any of them really care about me. I lost my very best friend on August 6th 2018. My Mom, I know she cared since she passed I haven't spoken to my younger brother, or sister. Tried to make amends with my younger brother a couple of years ago, I told him I'd like to let bygones be bygones and I love him couse he's my brother. He looked at me and walked away without saying a word. They reason he won't talk to me is , when we were at the funeral I got really drunk and said that I would pay for everything casket, plot, headstone etc. when she passed away, my little brother jumped on a plane and flew down to fla . While my older brother and I drove down. Gee I wonder why he wanted to get there so quickly. My mom left both him and I enough money to cover all the funeral costs. When we returned home I started thinking about how caniving he is . I know my mom gave him a conversation van. Well he turned around and sold it to me for 10,000. Dollars . When I asked him to at least pay for the headstone that I put on my credit card. He refused . So I told him I would cancel the Stone. Of course I wouldn't have. But he didn't know that. He had me meet him at a bank and fill out paperwork saying he payed the twenty five hundred dollars. Out of the money that she left for her final expenses. He wanted to pocket the whole amount. Unbelievable! He won't talk to me because of that. What a piece of work. The funniest part is that I love him because he's my brother , but I don't even like him as a person. He's an asshole. What a clown. Back to the friend thing. I have one friend, and two sorter friends. But like I said I lost my only real friend when I lost my mom . Dam I miss that woman. Well I guess that's all I can say about that.

I agree with your wisdom and also put alot of thought into how and why life actually works. About 15 years ago I wrote a small book about what really drives life here in this world. My conclusion is that everything here is driven by the engine of Karma. Relationships included! If one doesn't have many friends or relationships, one should think of themselves as lucky because they also don't have too much Karma debt. Looked at closer, there is alot of stress, responsibility, loss of freedom, financial weight, etc in Relationships, especially marriages. Be happy you don't have to deal with all that stuff and enjoy aloneness. If one can do that, then "loneliness" will never show up. Two different birds!

Fair play to that 71yr old person. I thought l was the only one. I fully understand what you mean by the way you were raised and early experiences. I went through the same thing and by the age of 8yrs, it was all over for me and I didn't start school until I was 6yrs. Between the madness and the bullying at school I was just an outcast but I live away in my own world. I'm a woman and nothing rises me more than a click of women together, (all stories about everybody and whispering). I could never take that. Thank God I'm alone and you too Sir. Mind yourself. May God watch over the weak. The Holy Spirit is the even spirit of truth. That's what the Bible calls him in the book of John. So true, I've experienced it in my own life since I became a Born Again Christian. The Holy Spirit never lies and he speaks to my heart by thought.

My best or at least somewhat more peaceful relationship are with people much older than me who are more like mentors or parental over me, because we’re not spending our days trying to one up each other, put each other down, steal people from each other or other shit “friends” do. Maybe cause my whole family, my parents and my brother, are slightly narcissistic. And having even a brother who isn’t brave enough to stick up for me and instead joined on putting me down, I trust no body but especially not people my age. A friend woke me up many years ago and was desperate to visit her dads grave we went she a good cry, I lived in this town for 4yrs. On leaving the town I found out that her and my husband were having an affair. That does shatter a person faith in people. This experience and many more like this happen all the time, its not just me. So I understand how hard it is to trust again. stay safe, enjoy Chrissy and the New year

I'm 35 and have absolutely no friends. it's quite boggling, to be honest. i often find myself quite depressed due to my lack of satisfying relationships in life. i don't know if it's because of the changing times, or because im getting older, but I've found that finding and keeping friends around is not only extremely difficult but very exhausting as well. about 2 years ago, i noticed i was the only person keeping any of my meaningful (to me anyway) relationships in tact i.e. the only person to call, visit, etc., so i decided to stop reaching out and see who would actually reach out to me.... well i have no friends now, lmao. I've been trying to get on being alone, and find solitude in that. instead of investing in other people, i've invested in me. it still really sucks, and i would love nothing more than a loving family and a couple decent friends, but its not looking like its in the cards for your boy. ill be damned if i disappear into the shadows without being seen, though. the person i was 2 years ago to now is unrecognizable, so i suppose i can hold my head high with that fact.

I feel you. I’m a 37 year old guy here and this is pretty similar to my situation. When I do try to reach out to people they are toxic and use me. Even family and I’m over it. So I started just doing me. I tried meeting new people, but it’s like I’m a magnet for people to walk all over me. So now it’s pretty much just me. I have one friend I’m holding on to, but thinking about letting her go because she likes to get jealous and make snide comments. I do feel deprived of intimacy and socializing and having a sense of community. Im an introvert even, but still miss the human interaction.

Maybe something deeper will form, maybe it won't but you can still just enjoy the stimulation of interacting with folk. @@lucidevlin I’ve tried meeting up with family that I’ve never met before, making friends and even dating at one point. They all are crazy lol. They become jealous and controlling and all around toxic. Like I have 1 friend that I’m holding on to, but honestly need to let her go. She likes to make jabs like “my car isn’t as nice as yours” or “It must be nice that you get to go do that”. It’s always snooty and that’s how they all been. It really makes me sad because when a friend of family member tells me something exciting about them I’m really excited for them and happy. It’s like I can’t be happy about my achievements around people or happy about anything really without them getting jealous or ignorant to me. Sometimes I’m like was a cursed damn!

You can be your own best friend and never be lonely. It doesn’t mean you avoid people, you enjoy them for what they are and enjoy their company more because you don’t need it. To do this, you have to begin to look for your worth in your reflection in the mirror, not your reflection in other people’s eyes.

The bitterest pill one ever swallows is the one where one learns he/she meant nothing to those who meant everything to him/her.

@annaarmstrong6956 Well said! Just another reason not to invest too much of one's self in a relationship unless it is w. Jesus. ...Even Jesus knew betrayal and suffering. ...is it any wonder we do that very thing to eachother?

@@daisydriver5877 Besides my son and a couple of friends, I also have nobody but Jesus. My daughter checked out too. Dad died so now everything is my fault. She had a privileged childhood, so I don't get it. She had far more than her younger brother, yet he is my caretaker (endless years of Lyme disease) after their Dad died. So now I know who loves me and who doesn't. My daughter must be psychotic. Everything she accused me of have more to the story, and even my Mom didn't understand any of it. So you can't count on your kids, either. Life is strange.

I love being on my own. As an artist I never feel alone. I don’t feel I need company.
