Your Mega Drive pad probably just needs cleaning. They're extremely easy to take apart. IOnce dissassembled clean all the plastics with warm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly. The rubber membranes can also be cleaned in soapy water. For the PCB use a cotton bud with some isopropyl / isopropanol alcohol. Dip the cotton bud into the alcohol and then gently rub the contacts on the PCB with the cotton bud. This may need a few applications. Once everything is fully dry then put the pad back together. It should then be like new, assuming none of the parts of the pad are actually damaged. Hope this helps you to resurrect the MD pad!

awesome to see you give the Reflex Adapt a spin here! I helped test it for nearly a year before release and it is an absolutely killer adapter for so many of my favorite controllers! Hearing you so excited to use the SNES controller on the core in MiSTer is exactly how I feel when you get the "right" control type for systems you played a ton of back in the day. Even switching it up and using something like the genesis/saturn controller for NES and stuff can be a very rewarding experience depending on the game since all these controllers have their strengths and weaknesses. For the JogCon on PS1 for stuff like Ridge Racer Type 4 you definitely want to use SNAX to get the full force feedback as it's completely transformative there and there really is no other way to get proper force feedback for the intended feel without it. Fake spinner mode on the JogCon is also great for so many different games. I put some examples on my youtube and will be adding more over time. cheers!

Nice, absolutely love the Reflex and I'll be trying SNAX next. I feel like I've gone down a rabbit hole, I'm gonna be gathering up some more old controllers.

Jogcon is fully compatible with games such as Ridge Racer Type 4, V-Rally 2, Pac-Man World and the Playstation version of Breakout (video game). If the Jogcon isn't working like a force feedback steering wheel then it isn't working correctly. It should spin all over the place when the car goes out of control.

Gotcha, it may be better to use SNAX with the PSX core as Reflex Adapt does not currently support rumble. Thanks for this, I've got more incentive to set up SNAX now 👍

Got a reflex it’s amazing, snes, nes with zapper, have a n64 controller it’s just perfect. I have a jog con and a blisster hdmi but you need a the ps1 adapter from mister addons for it to work so I now have order one or 2 as I have the Negcon too. Thanks for video and thanks to Mr Addons for his creation.

Can you use the NEGCON in a similar way to the JOGCON? Twisting while having access to the face buttons might work better on those rotating stick games?

I’ve had mine a month or so now and it’s great! I bought it for the Jogcon too so I could play forgotten worlds and eco fighter. I initially had a few problems with the setup as I couldn’t get the dial speed right, it was turning too slowly. I sorted it in the end and it’s awesome.

Good to hear. I absolutely love it too. The jogcon will definitely take some getting used to on my part. I loved playing SNES with it, it just took me back to being a kid.

I was watching the twitter posts from Mister Addons about the Reflex Adapt and I must admit it looks very interesting. Great to see it in action. The bulk of my controllers are 8bitdo and I have a bunch of various native-to-usb controllers that I use for the native retro sensation but it’s a mixed bag and some don’t have the best latency. My first console was an Atari 2600 and when I first got the MiSTer I started hunting down original controllers so I could play cores with the original controllers and it’s amazing how it brings those memories back. Thanks for another awesome video. Keep up the great work. Cheers! 😊

@@PixelCherryNinja make sure you don’t get a new reproduction one. I bought a set of two from a Chinese seller - the plastic work is perfect but all the switches are super loud and clicky - way too loud to use. EBay was my friend. Found local sellers with genuine old controllers. Look for ones without scratches. They are easy to disassemble and clean thoroughly.

Its likely really late in the day but the N64 Core has had some interesting updates including an unstable MiSTer nightly build to increase the controller stick accuracy again. Hope you get some time to try it with Reflex and see if that helps it work with those other controllers that have enough buttons for it ;)

This sounds great but with no rumble this is not gonna replace my PSX SNAC adapter for my MiSTer. And there's no lag with SNAC.

Reflex has *according to tests* between 0.0007 to 0.003 seconds of latency. That's no lag for all intents and purposes.

On the Megadrive controller look for a button replacement kit the kind that are new rubbers and contact pads. it usually takes the hard press only after its a bit too worn out. Its an easy fix.

Yesss, I love this device! I'm surprised there hasn't been more coverage online because it's amazing. My only complaint is that I couldn't get it recognized by Steam when it came out--not sure if that's changed with newer firmware or not. I also had to clean the contacts on a bunch of Saturn controllers because they were a bit finicky!

I didn't try it on Steam, but Steam does have a bunch of Controller compatibility options. I'm confident there'll be a way. I went RetroArch in the video, as I wanted to try original systems, Steam didn't come to mind.

Might be a good alternative for dual RAM setups where you can't use SNAC due to the missing I/O board.

I can't deal with extra dongles and proprietary cables in my setup, and no disrespect to MiSTer Add-ons but using OG controllers with minimal lag was hardly a problem to be solved. Import taxes on top and honestly it's a super hard sell for me.
