After several failed attempts, the Reform party leader has finally been elected as an MP.
Mr Farage took Clacton in Essex from the Conservatives with almost 50% of the vote. 21,225 votes v Con: Giles Watling 12,820.
He steered Reform to four seats so far and the third-highest share of the vote.
In his victory speech, Mr Farage called the result 'truly extraordinary' and warned Keir Starmer that he's coming for Labour next.
Jeremy Vine on 5 is on television every weekday at 9:15am until 1:30pm on Channel 5.

@@myoldtapes9187Tories are too far left now anyway. They are basically the same as Labour. That has been shown over the last 14 years. It's the left that worry so much about PR as they know the system would then not be corrupt in their favour. Labour got about 2% more vote share than when they lost to tories in 2019 yet ended up with about 2/3 of the total seats. Reform got about 4 million votes and 5 seats as now has been counted due to the miscount in Basildon but Lib Dem got half a million less votes and ended up with about 65 more seats. It's a system that doesn't properly represent the people. Anyone that denies it is simply down to the fact that it's in their favour.

Reform has every chance of power after the next General Election. Reform must build a well managed efficient party in touch with the wishes of the British people. We are tired of uncontrolled borders, of British people seemingly taking second place to the interests of others. We are tired of a lack of pride in who the British are, our values, our history and the lack of an excellent vision for our future and for our young people in particular.

I don’t mind the country having a proper left wing and a proper right wing party. I personally hope we get a proper left party with economic policies that will benefit the vast majority of the country. We should have proportional representation so people can vote for policies they actually want instead of voting for social issues all the time. The media is a huge pain this country. Look at this show. They have Reform on here all the time but hardly ever have the Greens on. They have the same number of MPs!

The greens got no vote share and looking at the demographics of their ‘candidates’ it’s probably a good thing and no they don’t reform have 5 mps which much much more vote share, the greens are an Islamist proxy that shouldn’t even be allowed in England. There’s no such thing as left wing policies that ‘benefit the vast majority of people’…..it’s communism and that is forced mediocrity at best and destitution at worst…but it’s ok because at least we’re all equally poor. I think we should support keeping the First Past the Post Electoral System. But advocate for Proportional Representation for 10 or more additional UK wide MP seats.

green party should be in the media more. Its such a stain on our country that all parties do not get the proper coverage!

The party will disappear soon. On average farage partyys disappeared after 5 years. Now in parliament people will realise what a mistake

The chairperson does not read. Reform says essential immigration is allowed such as doctors and nurses.

He was only a serious candidate one other time and lost to a campaign where people went to jail trying to stop him. Why do they keep bringing up campaigns where he had about as much chance as the monster raving loony party?

His policies don't add up. They are the only ones that do and he wasn't allowed to get involved in Brexit. It's the WEF that's the problem

Labour say Reform are only a small party 🥳 well they are right but shoe on the other foot with 4.1 million voters & 1st past the post removed how many seats would they have then 🤔? Mmmh alot of seats 😂😂😂 lets look at it a different way we have to respect what Reform uk have achieved & their voters express this to labour or conservatives that they have had enough 😉 of a vote thats anchored by just labour or conservatives the UK 🇬🇧 cant progress with just these two party choices we should then be giving Reform uk a standing ovation for their courage & success i would be very happy that Nigel Farage is PM & proud of Reform UK being our government then lets see what they can achieve for the UK 🇬🇧 we then have a choice of a 3rd party to bring back a second term if they move the UK to a better place I base Nigel Farage from his achievements as an MEP he was the voice of UK and very successful at this he isnt a nobody he has proved his professionalism over the channel for us we are stuck in the dark ages with our system as it is. We all need to think of our children growing up they are our future lets give them choice. we might be able to move away from the racism word being used everytime someone isnt happy its so negative so insulting we are all equal we are all human beings lets all learn to respect each other learn from each other & show the world how it could be if we learn to live in peace its not difficult if we just try & stop some people using religious beliefs as a weapon where extremism can grow into society and blurring the lines in society to the point of lunacy where there becomes death and destruction that is not how we should learn to live, sickness or terminal illnesses are the things we should all be fighting against not each other. All of us deserve a good happy life so live it 👍
