I started flipping clubs about 6 month ago Simon because of your videos and have done really well from it, so massive thank you 🙏. I also started refurbing as well, bought a buffing machine and repairing paint chips, scratches too with big resale upside from doing so. I started using testors model paint and a toothpick for driver paint chips from another KZbin vokey refurb video, works wonders or you can use Tamiya paint too. Good luck with it all, love the content.

If you take the head to a decent motor factor they can scan the paint and supply you with touch up pens and spray cans. A bit like colour matching at B&Q
@TheLukesweeney94 жыл бұрын
You can get t cut in different colours which have paint pigments in them that'll help to fill in the bigger scratches. Might be worth looking into

Love the refurb series. I keep nicking the Mrs nail varnish for infill till she brought a few for me. Get some autosol on irons and putters that aren't coloured. For worn-out grips lightly sand then clean with soapy water and leave to dry.

Hi Simon, Halfords Aliminium touch up pen is a very close match to the M4 paint. I'm currently in the process of refurbing an M3 driver and will will post some photo's of the finished club head.

Another great video. I’ll use T Cut to sort out the scratches on my woods. Looking forward to your next video.

For tee marks and other blemishes not through the finish, a magic eraser pad works amazing. Also great for golf shoes and cleaning staff bags.

I bought a set I found online and I didn't notice the driver had a chip/hole on the top of the face. I was wondering if I can fix it or if it's just a total loss for me. Thanks for all the great content, you have given me confidence in buying clubs online even though I messed up on this purchase.

I have an M6 3 wood with sky marks, might try sort it out after watching this! Coincidentally, my driver is also a Rogue. Be interested to see if that is equally as easy to buff marks from. Keep up the great content!

I bought an ex demo M4 last year. I don't use T cut instead I use Brasso polishing cloth. It comes in a tin like Duraglit. Figured if good enough for polishing metal surfaces without scratching it should do the same on the M4. It did and without the high gloss that t cut leaves. Give it a try.Can also be used on irons Also use Marky pens to touch up black.. Stay well. Thanks.

As I mentioned last time, try some rubbing compound, it will be quicker than T Cut, but less brutal than sandpaper, give it a go.

To speed up you might like to look at a small polisher. I sometimes detail autos and there are small polishers for tiny spots. But honestly it looks great by hand. 👍🇨🇦💯

I’m probably one of the few, but I hate that white/silver front on the Taylor Made clubs. I think that re-sprayed gloss or matte black would look infinitely better... actually thinking about giving it a go.
@dp4auburn4 жыл бұрын
I’m with you there. Taylor made makes cheesy looking stuff. Too many finishes and materials clashing.

Had this idea during lockdown one - bought second hand, tired sets of irons, got hold of a grinder, metal polishing blocks and gryptonite golf club paint. Takes me a few hours to get the shine back on the irons, but have doubled my money on every set I've sold on!

You need to get a polishing mop on a battery drill and this will speed up the process also you can get different grades of scotchbrite this will leave a Matt finish , liking the content

That is some great work! When you finish the putter it would be good to compare how good it is Vs before you did the refurb. Is the performance improved or is it just looks that are improved.

Could you use a black sharpie to touch in the scratches on the base??? I know from experience that using paint to fill in scratches (or stone chips on a car) is a very tricky exercise.. although there are great walk throughs of the process on Ammo NYC KZbin channel including tooling syringe vs makeup cotton bud stick
@budbeaird70984 жыл бұрын
I use mothers aluminium polish to remove marks on all parts of club heads, including the face. To remove the gloss, you can clear coat with a mat finish or wet sand with 2000 or finer grit sand paper. Just be careful not to rub/sand through the paint.

Put some masking tape on the back of the crown, which you want to keep shiny, and take rest down again with some sandpaper.

On iron faces the grooved part is like a greyish colour apposed to the rest of the face. Is it a different material or just paint. I want to refurb some old clubs but don't want to damage the faces in a way that they rust or become useless

Do you know if This would work on a Ping driver?

Just found your channel, you're a pretty funny dude for a Wish version of Jude Law. How does someone get their driver in that condition? And did Taylormade have an affiliation with BMW back then? Same colours as the BMW M series.
@christopherclarke59784 жыл бұрын
You could use a 1500 grit then tape up the face and clear lacquer the club again. You could even tape the silver off and use mat Clear lacquer. You also need a buffing machine.

I have an idea for a video if you're interested 🙋🏻♂️. Working out a way to re-black clubs that were once black, say Cleveland Black Pearls. The reason I suggest this is because I want to re-black my Cleveland Black Pearls and don't trust other youtubers. 😂

Buffing wheel. You gonna start doing this a lot then its gonna make your life a lot easier... No sand paper....buffing compound comes in different abrasive strengths you just apply to the wheel. Watch any knife maker on youtube or someone creating stuff using epoxy .
@golfmonkey81833 жыл бұрын
don't use sand paper use wet and dry paper and some water you can keep the matt finish and its finer than sand paper if you sand it you create heat and it can ruin paintwork

You need a bench mount buffer polisher and you will knock these out in 5mins
@stevelegge33074 жыл бұрын
If it isnt a DA polisher and its rotary, there is a real chance you will burn through the paint, unless you are experienced in polishing and understand heat dispersion you could end up ruining the club.
@mattchiles76314 жыл бұрын
