I needed to see how to put the bearings back in place. Thanks!

I have the same type screw driver but with the verapac battery that is no longer available, I used this screw driver for 10 years on daily basis, I haven't used it for 18 years. After watching this video, I'm now thinking of modifying the battery so I can use it again, most likely cleaning the old grease out and regreasing as the old grease hardens and drys as you have seen above.

Can you still use the original charger for ni-cad for that new battery?

Hello, can anyone tell me the dimensions of the gear on the motor shaft?
@raymondmucklow37936 жыл бұрын
I was about to tear mine down noticed directly inscribed right by the U clip it says do not remove can not be reassembled, only remove for recycling the batteries. (In other words only take the U Clip out if your gonna bin the thing). The lettering is painted on the thing, so if you use yours the warning will just rub right off.

The screwdriver still gets the job done. It was about to go in the trash. So opening it, regreasing and changing batteries has given it new life and it is still going.

What's that diode used for? I replaced the ni-cads with an 18650 - much more torque and retains charge longer. Charge with TP4056
@bwack8 жыл бұрын
Do you have a protected 18650 ? I mean the ones with undervoltage-overvoltage protection board built onto the end of the cell.. ? I googled some more. Seems the TP4056 boards, or boards with TP4056 IC rather comes with and without undervoltage protection. Confusing as usual with boards that don't have a part number.

Thanks for the datasheet. That's just the chip and no data about the board it sits on. I've ordered boards with tp4056 and undervoltage protection. www.ebay.com/itm/221793404637 I have a few projects and spare cells I can use. Thanks for the tip.

Received the boards today. They are small and awesome. Will make a video about them sometime in december. Thanks again for the tip.

are you going to make the video?

I would likr to make it too! Have you put the charger inside the driver or you dismantle it every time to charge the cells?

I have done the same thing to one kc9018 that i found. I don't know if it's because of the batteries that i used (not so new) or because of the charger (i don't have the original one) but it's very slow...The amazing thing is that is made in England!!!!I have found in internet that the production of kc9018 ended in 1994, these years China was still undiscovered by industries...

Nice job. What have you used to clean the contacts?
Using a pencil eraser is like using very fine sandpaper, but the eraser won't take of the platting from the metal. Use the alcohol to clean the residue from the eraser

Hi,great video. I have the same screwdriver,but I have lost the original charger. Can you tell me what type of charger do you use to charge the batteries? What model is the original charger? Thanks
@bwack4 жыл бұрын
I use a hobby charger. Imax b6. I open the screwdriver to get to the batteries and charge them one at a time. Not ideal, but I don't have to do it often. Maybe once per year (I'm not using the screw driver very much).

Wow that regreasing really helped.
@bwack8 жыл бұрын
lots of friction and heat.. regreasing helped it indeed.

Hello, the built-in battery was an NiCd right? The original charger worked to charge this new Ni-Mh battery?
@bwack6 жыл бұрын
The charger is long gone, but I think it would work with the Ni-MH even though it is a Ni-Cd charger because it is a trickle charger it should be ok. The screwdriver is still in use 3 years later :) I have only charged it two times.

You clean the thin metal with a pen(?)...What kind of pen is it?
@star9785 жыл бұрын
He just used the eraser that comes with the pen.
