Dreamonoid's No probs. I’ve never bought a turntable before and want to buy my first one. Im 45 yrs old. I want to sit and really enjoy the sound. I really do not know whether I’d be happy with the p2 or regret it and wished I’d purchased the p3. I hear the Exact cartridge is pretty good so I may get that right away. I’m not too interested in buying a base unit and over time upgrading it.

Hilux Jase we have a couple customers who have the exact cartridge and rave about it. Just last week we sold a P3 with an exact and I set it up and was impressed at how cohesive the combination was. The pace, rhythm and timing all just comes together in a very high end way.

joey lopez phd Thanks mate. I think you are helping with my decision. Pace, rhythm and timing are things I don’t know if I could tell the difference with. I’m no audio file but I would like a good soundstage and to feel like the music is live and present. So I guess with that said would the rega 2 with Elise cartridge make me happy or the 3 with exact cartridge?

I’ve an audio technica LP3 and looking to upgrade to a Rega , wanted one since the 80’s. But have limited budget , Doubt I could stretch to the p3 but the p2 is a possibility. Is the difference that much between the two

If you can the P3 is the stretch I would make just because it’s a major leap in sound. Also you have more options for upgrading in the future. It’s a long term investment too. I’ve had customers with P3’s for decades.

Now I like the red. But I also like the white rega 3 which I now own, don't like my cartridge elys 2 in blue. It will go with any room decor but still stand out. Not liking the black as hi fi gear mostly been boringly black for milleniums. Enough about color though it sounds great.
