I think I have been living with mild/moderate hearing loss for most of my life, but only found out officially through a hearing test 4 years ago. Hey there, I'm 25 years old too, and found out via hearing test as well, around 8 years ago. Same thing, it's distressing especially I'm working in the film industry. It's degenerative and doctor says there's no cure. Life's been so hard but glad (and sad) to hear that I'm not alone. I hope things will get better for us soon. :) Hang in there!

My father has that. It was just diagnosed. No blood going to the small capillaries that feed his ear. Helichrysum Oil - Two Questions: 1) Can I put it in my ear? And 2) Are there a few brands you recommend? I lost full hearing in one ear as a child after getting my "wellness check" vacc inn es at 7yrs old. I started taking piano lessons as a child at 5yrs old and I could play extremely well by ear even at that age. This has affected me all my life, and especially in music (as well as situations where there are lots of noises and I need to define certain ones for some reason - case in point, a busy street corner in Chicago where my safety is at risk in several ways). I would give the world to regain my hearing in that ear if at all possible. Two Questions: 1) Can I put it in my ear? And 2) Are there a few brands you recommend? (I cannot afford Doterra or Young Living. I'm already living penny to penny, but I will do Doordash to afford a decently priced Heli oil if there's the chance it might help me regain my hearing.)

Same as mine... Damaged by unprotected shooting at Ukrainian border guard training. Instructors were complete assholes, they had hearing protection only for themselves, and said "fire, nothing will happen after 40 rounds". It did happen: 20% hearing loss and terrible tinnitus - ringing in both ears, no improvement after treatment, already 7 month.. My hearing is damaged forever :(

@@pavlovezdenetsky7824 I fired over 400 rounds of 22lr pistol ammo in rural outdoor target practice with no hearing protection and over 200 rounds of 9mm pistol ammo. I had no idea how loud they get and I thought nothing would happen because I do crazy fireworks close every year and never had ringing. Maybe I already had hearing loss before I started target practice. But doing it ramped up the damage. If I knew the decibels went up to 160 I wouldn't have done it that much and used ear plugs every time.

Hello my friend. The humming itself will not damage your ears. Its in fact the brain that is making that noise, not the ear itself. I have Tinnitus, and was told this by my audiologist.

First find out why you're deaf. Get a CT scan and MRI. You could be disfigured in the ear.

Maybe close to exactly that? The inner ear may be so sensitive that loss of hairs, or hairs that start to lose healthy hair quality, may affect the overall ear 'interpretation' of tones. I wonder too if it could be hair length changes as well as we see with age (think eye-brow hair lengthening in old age).

This probably will not happen for a decade or more, so do not get too excited! you can help yourself in various ways, if you have some hearing. Big companies should, with all the automation, put out the message at beginning of phone calls - if you have difficulty hearing press ????? Then a simple `press button or number push should allow greater amplification, or at least someone sympathetic to your needs. You yourself in the meantime, ask the live person on the phone to speak up and speak slowly. Why isn`t it acceptable for `hard of hearing` to wear a `necktie statement` saying something like I AM HAPPY TO CONVERSE - PLEASE SPEAK UP IN A MEASURED TONE THANK YOU! Obviously the actual wording needs thinking through but this `badge` could be tucked under your coat to `flash` when needed. I know we do not like to broadcast our disabilities but the lesser of evils is to be able to `fit into society`.
