Regeneration of Diseased Kidney

Led by scientists at Duke-NUS Medical School and the National Heart Centre Singapore, researchers in Singapore and Germany have found that renal tubular cells, which line the tiny tubes inside kidneys, release a scar-regulating protein called interleukin-11 (IL-11) in response to kidney damage. This leads to increased expression of a gene that arrests cellular growth and promotes kidney dysfunction. In a preclinical model of human diabetic kidney disease, the scientists showed that turning off this process by administering an antibody that binds to IL-11 led to proliferation of the kidney tubule cells and reversal of fibrosis and inflammation, enabling damaged kidney cells to regenerate and restoring impaired kidney function.

They're developing a medication starting from this past September 2023 ; but its still in clinical trials to be done on volunteers for 53 weeks ; that means a year of research ; so i predict that it can be available in like 2025 to 2026 firstly in Europe and then to rest to the world after that @@mdyeasinpaikbari

I would like to contact the doctors of this study and would like to enter my cats into the study. Here in America veterinarian studies in CKD are primitive and barberic. The only solutions offered are starvation of the cat from proteins. And Hoping to inhibit phosphorus into the blood. @Tulpar well just hold on a little longer. If you and your mother can hold on for 5 years i think there's a good chance this will be available. They said they will start human trials this year and they estimate that it can be brought to public in 3 years. And many can avoid dialysis. Honestly, idk why governments don't pool resources into researching for things like this. CKD reversing should be one of the top priorities.
