Lee is a comedy legend here in the UK. He's 60 now, been with his wife since they were 16, married at 20 - so 40 years of marriage now. He retired a decade ago - made millions doing stand-up and just rode off into the sunset to enjoy it with his family

It's actually on record that it wasn't Norman Wisdom at all. It was actually folks like Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. They were a couple of heroes for sure, mine too. Norman Wisdom is a sure fire legend for me too. Growing up watching him was wonderful.

Saw Lee Evans in Manchester he came out did his set, went off stage, came back on and did another hour, went off, back on for bohemian Rhapsody, off and back on for an encore all in all it was 4 hours, so ridiculously giving for the price of a ticket.

Yeh I remember seeing him for the first time live in Nottingham in like 2002 I think it was. He did a 2 hour encore and it was him basically talking to the audience and making up jokes on the spot. It was so magical.

Lee Evans was my favourite comic growing up and still is and there is nothing that makes me smile more than seeing someone watch him for the 1st time. My favourite comedian of all time. He was so unique and no one else will ever be like him. He was so good at taking normal things we do in life and making them so funny. You would see people in the audience looking at each other and laughing because they can relate. The very best and an absolute genius comedian. All his movements and sounds with the faces. Just an incredible on stage presence and he would sell out arenas in no time. Such a legend he really is. I have cried with laughter so many times over the years. He makes my head hurt laughing so much 😂

You have just discovered the rabbit hole that is Lee Evans as a comedian. The guy is crazy,, high energy and absolutely hilarious. He plays in front of huge crowds in enormous venues and there isn't a dry eye in the house. He is so energetic that he needs every square inch of the stage to perform on. He just never stands still and at the end of his performance his suit is soaking wet! He must be spending a fortune on suits! The guy is just incredible, and the rabbit hole is way deeper than this.

I'm probably biased but I believe UK comedy is the best in the world. It tends to deal with the more relatable things in life that most people have experienced themselves. A lot of our comedy from the 70's , 80's , 90's and early 2000's was incredible , the woke pc brigade have done their best to dampen our comedy now though , just incase it offends 0.001% of the people who might be watching it !! I always remember being 16 and my mate telling me about this incredibly funny comedian and putty his VHS tape on, I had tears rolling down my cheeks in minutes, seen him twice live in small venues, I'm 44 now and still find him as funny as 28 years ago!
