"If you never say your name out loud to anyone, they can never ever call you by it." That line hit me like no other today. It's funny how you can hear something dozens of times and never even realize that you don't understand it. And then one day you just...do.

@@soltantio people can have interpretations but the way I interpret it is that people can't help you if they have no idea that help is needed. Someone can't call out to you if they don't know your name, you have to tell them, or *someone* your name
@symphorose
@symphorose 2 жыл бұрын
@@soltantio I agree with @IDon'tNeedAName. If you don't reveal your feelings (sadness, pain, even love), nobody can know what you feel; if you keep hiding yourself, nobody can see you as you truly are. Pain is a private feeling, I think, but that doesn't mean we have to go through it alone. We can choose someone to share it with and allow them to make us feel better. Better, at least a little.
@desireetacbas7867
@desireetacbas7867 Жыл бұрын
I can interpret that line as, sometimes we complain about how people around us doesn't truly know us. However we sometimes ignore the fact that we also do not allow moments or situation for other people to get to know us better.

PROTIP: If you never ever say your name out loud to anyone they can never ever call you by it.
@samparler840
@samparler840 4 жыл бұрын
From a poetic standpoint this may be true, but from a strictly logical point of view, it isn't. For example, suppose your mother called you by your name and a neighbor overheard it and repeated it within earshot to quite a few others. Also, this statement implies that it is a bad thing for someone else to call you by the very name you call yourself: Unless your fear and loathe yourself- your very being and essence- and how you know yourself, why would you dread this?
