I don't get the "dislikes" on her material. It may not be to someone's taste but the thought and craft she puts into her songs should be respected. There's no throwaway stuff from this lady and that's unique.

She’s such a good songwriter that even if you strip away all the production and just listen to a bare bones version of one of her songs, you get just as much out of it. Her first album had tracks where it was just her and maybe one or two instruments accompanying her and it sounds better than some artists accompanied by a full band, with fancy overdubs and vocal effects. I honestly kinda wish she’d do another album like that.
