I’ve gotten misunderstood in the hospital once it was really bad because I’m autistic I was screaming out for the nurse she wouldn’t come in all I needed her to do or get one of her colleagues to do was just sit with me for a minute so I can calm down and go to sleep because pain medication can only do so much for me being autistic being in the hospital is such a gamble

Here in the Philippines, usually, people dont give nurses a dignity. They treat them as nannies, maid, and secondclass citizens. They say "i can buy you" and other derogatory terms. I think they need help here. And also, 1 nurse handles 20+ patients.

There is always patients rights. The question is, is there any equal rights for the staff esp for those who are combative, abusive and rude patients and to its relatives

You seem like a sweet person… And I can’t foresee you as being a rude nurse to patients. How do I deal with rude nurses as a patient? I struggle. Please help

You are always welcome to speak up and say, “hey that felt rude.” “Did I do something to upset you- it feels like you are being rude” OR you can ask for the charge nurse and tell them your feelings ☺️

@@nursemeg3896 thank you…. I hope you are well. You made me realize something that may be beneficial but I guess I’ll have to test the theory. I have bad RBF. And I am a frequent flyer with medical professionals. However if I am medicated ,,,, can’t say that I can very well control this. And I think a nurse may take offense. However it carries on because if contact is needed, I’m going to be dealing with the same people that now I have a bias. There’s my rub. life is hard For everyone however I feel like we should be nice to everybody we come in contact with especially if you’re in the position of patient care because you have to be a true humanitarian and Let things that bother you roll off your back. My line of work also involves customer service. So dealing with difficult people can’t happen but typically not ones with manipulation in mind.

@NurseMeg oh I wish my HOD or charge nurse will able to help me with this kind of things.. in fact they'll just let me handle it myself.. today shift was very terrible bcs I have 1 new pt admitted to my ward with complaints of nauseated but no vomiting & epigastric pain. So the doctor diagnosed the pt with other acute gastritis & commenced on medication iv nexium, iv maxalon, iv buscopan, tab ganaton, syrup gaviscon & iv drip nacl also blood investigation but then got one of the patient relative suddenly raised her voice at me why we need to do all this thing on her mother, why does her mother getting this much amount of medication? Why does the doctor need to give her the iv maxalon & iv nexium? Why need to take blood again? The pt relative also stated that they have taken a blood test recently on January. Then I explained to her that dr prescribed the medication based on what patient complaints of as she stated that she's having epigastric pain & nauseated and regarding the blood i explained that the blood investigation result will not be the same with previous one as we need to take a new blood investion bcs we need to rule out any other causes for the pt to have this kind of things so that better treatmentcan be carried out. Then she asking me to not give the medication bcs the medication can cause death to her mother & ask me to inform the consultant that she don't want the medication to be administered to her mother.. about the blood investigation she also refused bcs she doesn't want any pricking on her mother. She even holding and scanning the medication and the iv drip. I really need someone help me with this kind of things. I going back home after shift keep on thinking about it the whole day where is my mistake then to make myself comfortable i remind myself that customer always right. 🙃
