I am fortunate enough to welcome Rob English to Health & Care. He is a researcher, medical editor and the founder of Perfect Hair Health where he focuses on evidence-based options for slowing, stopping and even reversing hair loss.
📸 Instagram ➔ / dradamfields
👍 Facebook: / dradamfields
My main interest is in his natural approaches. However, Rob is versed in alternative and conventional hair-loss treatment options. Rob’s story of androgenic alopecia as a youngster is compelling and has shaped the trajectory of his life. He has spent much of his life researching male pattern hair loss and female hair loss. In that research, he looked deep into peer-reviewed science on medications like Minoxidil, Propecia (Finasteride) Rogaine and treatments like hair transplants, low-level laser therapy, light therapy, Biotin, baldness supplements, platelet-rich plasma for hair loss, growth factors, stem cells and a plethora of other therapies.
As a result, Rob began to do his own research and has published five peer-reviewed papers on androgenic alopecia. The topics have covered the pathology of androgenic alopecia, an experimental treatment option, the methodological concerns in scalp biopsies, and two articles that were systematic reviews. He takes this topic very seriously and has become an authority on the subject of hair loss.
I know you will find this interesting and, if you have a full head of hair or not.
You can reach Rob English for free information or his paid service to help you with hair loss at www.perfecthairhealth.com
Dr. Fields is a practicing chiropractor in Northern California and can be reached for in-person appointments, as a team member on your health journey via a Telehealth consultation, or for speaking engagements at www.fieldsfamilychiro.com.

The Right routine for good hair and managing hair fall and dandruff. 1. Massaging the scalp 2. Brushing using a comb made of neem wood 3. Avoid tight hairstyles 4. Avoid too much heat styling 5. Sun protection 6. Stay hydrated 7. Balanced diet 8. Proper sleep 9. Hair Mask. After oiling, keep your hairs in a warm towel for a while 10. Applying warm oil on the hair and frequent cleansing with herbal oil and shampoo cleanser from littleextrra cocoonioon 11. Yogasana with inverted positions that promote blood circulation and stimulate the hair follicles.

I have found improving the water used for washing my hair made a big difference. Due to the extremely hard water in my shower, I invested in a shower filter that removes the impurities and calcium in the water. Since, I have seen no more hair loss.

Great share thank you. I relate to you as I have been reflecting on water PH for many years but I never experiment to see if it makes a difference. Until this summer, when I was in Portugal, the hair breakage stopped even though I washed and wet my hair almost every day because of the beach and swimming pool and it was almost no breakage. I am eager to find out if the shower filter works so I have been looking at a few shower filter on Amazon. However, it would be better to buy one that someone can share their experience. Which shower filter do you recommend?!

Into a small empty plastic bottle I filled one fourth of the bottle with baking soda. Then on top of that I filled the rest of the bottle with shampoo. I mixed the two concoctions together until thoroughly mixed. Apply as you would any shampoo and use finger tips to massage into scalp. Rinse immediately after, Do this twice a week only.

What about women and DHT? we make DHT as well, don’t we? I know they do blood tests for DHT levels, however, testosterone testing are designed for men. If I were to be tested the levels may not show or will be much lower than that of a male. However, my testosterone may be too high (possibly) for the average woman. Does that make sense? Anyways, I cannot trust the testing so, I will be checking into the Saw Palmetto and Micro-needling. Vitamin D and K taken with Magnesium is also helpful w/ hair growth. You can have your D levels checked and your dr. may prescribe the amount (ie., 5,000 IU, 10,000 IU, etc.) Helpful tip: When taking Vitamin D, ALWAYS take with a fat (olive oil, coconut oil, whole milk, etc), as Vitamin D is FAT SOLUBLE-very important. Be SURE to take VIT. D, K (k3), and Magnesium for better absorption & they compliment one another.

59:30 What if it's both? The average man with a decent head of hair has similar levels of DHT, but less constriction? The balding man essentially has a less healthy follicle due to less bloodflow, so they're more vulnerable to the ravages of DHT. Of course, with varying degrees on that sliding scale.

I am confused. We use Botox in my neurology office it does not relax the muscles but actually paralyzes them. That is why some patients can’t raise eyebrows or squint their eyes for some time after the injections. That is how it was discovered it works for wrinkles.

@@dradamfields No, I don't think so. No real supplements at the moment just multivitamin, saw palmetto, and protein shakes. I changed to .5 and get more of what might be considered pinpoint bleeding. The bad side effects from finesteride happened several years after starting it in my mid 30s. I took it for about 18 years for elevated PSA. After I suspended it, the bad side effects didn't go away. I'd caution anyone interested in this to really consider if they're willing to play roulette with their sexual health. I wish I hadn't, but I felt like I had to take it medicinally.

@breakingthemasks Yes. The side effects can be gradual. I can't say no side effects, but they weren't terribly problematic until about when I hit 50. I suspect that it is related to the drug accelerating natural testosterone reduction as we age.

Rob, I am a woman who had so much hair when young that I could not use most clips sold for pony tails…..now I am 80 and losing my hair rapidly and my hair has gotten fine like the dolls you buy in cheap stores. I do not dye it, it is gray and white, a little darker in the back….I cannot afford expensive therapies either….
@micaonyx5301
@micaonyx5301 7 ай бұрын
You're suffering from a nutritional deficiency. It can be expensive to get checked if the doctor will do it in the first place. Think back to when it started, did you start taking a new medication., which could be the case. Next try taking a good multivitamin and minerals, vitamin D3, vitamin C, and zinc. Vitamin B1 and B3 can help as well.

I have male pattern baldness. I found I had a severe zinc and iron deficiency. Do you have white spots on your nails? Saw palmetto is good but it mainly helps with vertex balding and not your hairline or corners. Pumpkin seed oil seems very promising. I'm taking saw palmetto, inositol, pumpkin seed oil and thorne multi mineral and bone broth protein from paleovalley

Oh and I take turmeric and I just ordered the irestore pro red light therapy. I'll tell you that when I started taking zinc.... I soon saw new hair growth in my corners. If you have white spots in your nails then you are very deficient and you should immediately supplement
