My neighbour has a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Regular Cab Short Box for sale with a 6.0L LQ9 with Stage 3 Tooley Cams HD Springs and Guides, LS3 Intake, James Hatfield built 4L80E, 3600 Yank Stall Converter, 3:7:3 Trutrack Posi, Caltrac traction Bars, Stainless Ceramic Long Tube Headers into 3 inch Stainless Exhaust, High Vol Fuel Pump, Beefed up Driveshaft with HD Joints, lowered 4 inches in the front 6 inches in the back. Thinking of buying it and putting a Garret Ball bearing Turbo on it… it’s already sitting at 450HP at the Wheels, hoping to get about 1000hp to the wheels after the Turbo.

I’m in Texas and found my Silverado short bed in Illinois through CARMAX. What’s funny is it was originally sold new in Texas. 😆 🚘 I wanted one because they are cool looking. Very easy to park.

The one thing I like about my Silverado extended cab is it’s a good weight distribution between the bed and cab and it rides smooth for a pickup truck. I feel like a short bed regular cab is the same thing because the bed doesn’t hold as much weight as a long bed. It’s too bad gm doesn’t make these trucks anymore. Now all gm makes are just regular cabs long bed, crew cabs and double cab with a short bed.

I have a regular cab, short bed RAM 1500 HEMI truck and I LOVE IT! I looked high and low for this specific model for almost 9 months and finally found it on CarMax. Why did I buy it? Because regular short bed trucks were part of my youth, growing up in rural Ohio way back in the late 60's. It's a body style I've always loved, always wanted and I consider it my own personal two-seater "sports car". As far as I'm concerned, It's much better looking than those "family, four-door truck whose owners don't carry anything but worries, anxiety and false pretense, and very few other people have one. It's almost exclusive and I LIKE that. Besides, I don't want a whole bunch of other people in my truck...except for my wife.

I just recently bought one from an older friend of my dads, similar configuration, v8, z71, and i love them. The stance is perfect especially for a fun hobby truck to have a lift kit even though people always say they are "useless" just because it doesn't have a rear seat

You can now order a regular cab short (regular) bed GM truck starting with the work truck then adding extras and colors. It only comes with the 2.7L turbo engine.

When I purchased my current truck back in 2004, every option seemed to cost $2k (including extended cab). I only paid for the air conditioner, automatic transmission and that was it. V4, No power locks, and no power windows. And I still own it and use it every day. It kills me there are no more 2 doors. Thanks for sharing.

I drive an 18 wheeler at work. Dont want to drive a gigantic vehicle after work. I just searched toyota tundra regular cab on autotrader. There wasnt a single one in the whole nation. The next thing coming is a 3 row suv like a sequoia or expedition with a truck bed on the back. I hate the double cabs. People suck for buying them.

The problem with trucks these days is they don’t make long beds anymore because parking lot sizes are getting smaller and it’s all the rage to have a crew cab or king cab..so you get like a 5 foot bed.. what’s a 5 foot bed for?

Love my black 2006 silverado rare regular cab short bed V8 5.3L Flex Fuel Z71. New England truck its whole life started life in Plymouth Massachusetts. Sometimes i get complicated on my truck once 3 times in one day..which was a shock because iv taken it to several car shows/ cars and coffee people don't even bother...so rare no one knows what it is. 17 year old fun truck still looking good, getting work done, pulling trailers and crusing around even keeping up with average drivers in new cars and trucks on the highway. Ill be keeping this truck on the road for as long as i can maybe another 17-20 years.🤘👍

I had an S-10 Xtreme regular cab for years, finally sold it and upgraded to a Ford Lightning but then I had to sell that as well because California. I would love to get a GMC Sierra somewhere around 2016 to 2018 regular cab short bed but as you said they are extremely rare now & the 5.3L V8 is now super expensive even more than the extended & quad cabs...

Facts! You can build a WT decently equipped. You’re limited to the 2.7T and 5.3V8, but that also keeps the price reasonable. 2022 gets a nice exterior refresh as well as the 2.7T gets a nice bump to 420 ft/lbs of TQ.

I have a 2008 Regular Cab, short bed. Only way I will get rid of it is if Chevy makes the same configuration again. It is the perfect length for me. With the snow plow on I can back it into the garage and close the door. Anything longer and it won't fit. Best thing about having a pickup is my wife will not ride in it. I get to play the music I like and it is fun to drive too.

Yes. Short bed is a bit of a misnomer because the “shortest” box was available on the crew cabs, I believe. For the regular cabs, I think this was as short as they came. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Your pickup today is still probably what you paid for it new or almost real close to it. Single cab pickup is and always will be a street pickup or a z71 4x4 off road either way it is the move then and even today. That 1986 is and always will be no matter what year a GEM 💎 even in 2099.
