fun fact! when they were revealed, reapers were the only high ranking nobody with no corresponding final fantasy job! this was retroactively fixed when final fantasy 14 added reaper as a job which obviously also used a scythe!

If you look closely, you can see that the berserker doesn't actually ever attack you, he is attached to his hammer, and gets flung around whenever the hammer itself moves and attacks. It's honestly pretty unnerving once you notice, since the nobody itself is almost completely lifeless, as if exhausted from being forced to obey the berserking claymore. Interesting design detail that I learned from Janice Dublin Animation.

To this day, I still cannot understand why they don't have a more apparent method of displaying elemental weaknesses, despite how simple it would be to implement it. One other good reason why it's necessary is because most of the enemies in KH games don't have an appearance that makes it obvious what harmful to them; i.e. I would have never guessed that Soldiers are weak against Blizzard just by looking at them. Anyway the conditions to seeing them would be to either defeat said enemy or hit them with whatever elements they're weak/strong against. I'm pretty sure this would encourage players to actually make use of their spells instead of just wasting their MP on Cure 😢

Maybe it's because I kept the video on for background noise and it's been a while since I played through KH2, but... When has Sora controlled Heartless? I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything. Are you talking about Anti-Sora and Rage Form? Because I figured those stem from Sora regaining his form without Roxas being slain, therefore meaning Sora was a Heartless until Roxas rejoined with Sora. (Although with Roxas having his own body now, does that make Sora a Heartless again? If it does, is it technically or just straight up? Meh, questions for a different topic.)

@ There are several reaction commands where Sora either influences a Heartless’ actions or straight up hijacks a Heartless for his own purposes. This is also displayed in KH3 during the Raging Vulture fight.

Sora has to physically take control away during combat, which... well, is fighting. It's not like Maleficent or Ansem SoD where they can actually command the Heartless.

I didn’t say “command.” I said “control.” …and Sora *physically* can control them; and the Heartless are *powerless to stop him.* Take Sparkle Ray for example: - There is no such thing as friendly-fire in KH, but Sora says “Yoink, kill your allies for me.”

It's not something big like how Maleficent and Ansem made the Heartless act on their will. The only comment they could really make is that Sora's gotten smarter in combat, especially since the reaction commands aren't limited to Heartless, they apply to Nobodies and the non-heartless/nobody bosses too.

Great Compendium, There are some Elemental reaction/Trivia you miss. - Earth Core's Moving sand is immune to physical attack, but elemental magic can hit and stop its sand coat. - Large Body/Helmed Body red berserk mode can be dispel by Ice element attack. - Hitting elemental weakness on Prismatic Melodies will destroy their sigil, delay their attacks - Pole Cannon will get stun paralysis when in Shock status effect. - Winterhorn's Ice horn can be destroy with Fire attack, which I think make them unable to use Air Assault, and funnily enough, use Ice element on it restore its horns back. - Dusk and Reaper has Revenge Value like Humanoid boss, that's how they break out of combo. But in Dusk case, only Physical attack add to RV, Elemental and even Non-Element magic attack will add 0 RV, so you can combo them comfortably with Magic, Blizzard Claw/Blade, Shileds, etc. - Ninja will only use Reverse Thunder when there are 2 or less Ninja left on the field.

Just want to say the way the water core resists lightning is cool, not only does it go against common video game type matchup logic, Pokémon is the biggest one, but it’s accurate as pure water has zero conductivity and unless darkness is a conductor the resistance makes sense

Alright, BBS unversed compendium next Pat. And I’m pretty sure every time I’ve ever played. PBS, I’ve had to use a guide to get certain item drops. When your command melting, finding the right crystals is super annoying, so that video could be really awesome.

I've always felt like this game somehow has less enemy variety despite its obsession with scale and throwing around large mobs. I'm not going to go back and count out exactly how many different enemy types are in each game, but I guess having a handful of enemies that are literally just visual redesigns and others that are dedicated almost entirely to mini-boss encounters really dilutes the pool.
