Don't get me wrong, it's a very good game with good memories, but pretty sub-par in comparison to newer titles. The only thing with newer titles is that the player expects to experience the original nostalgic moments, but in reality you will never ever experience those emotions again. But perhaps also, nowadays people have lives and back then you were like 10

If he spends 1 minute in the entire process of entering the world, waypointing, teleporting until level 5 of tower, killing, closing the world and entering back... In one minute, it means he can only do 60*24 = 1440 runs in one ENTIRE day without sleeping. It means this "process" if based only in IST runes is meant to be in at least 14 days of non stop gaming (not eating or sleeping). Even an entire month is low time if the player do not play much hours per day. x.x

Hmmm maybe not. I pick up every (and I mean every) rune that drops. I have cubed 3 Ber, 2 Jah, 2 Ohm, 4 Lo and 1 Cham. It takes time and patience and a bit of insanity, but not everyone has good RNG luck and has to work hard to get nice things.

Because it's a little hard to justify spending 30 hours of mindless grinding to get something you can buy for less than $2. Trading isn't any different, the trades wouldn't be so cheap if people hadn't bought the runes, probably nobody would ever trade HRs at all.

Ive been playing D4 and while its fun....at the moment, I can see that wearing off very quickly. They throw you legendary items at low levels and crazy drops all over the place. Part of the charm of D2 is that you had to work your ass off good drops. While I wish that normal difficulty gear wouldnt drop off Nightmare Baal when you're trying to farm high level uniques, Id still take D2 over D3 or D4 any day. D2 is the game that all other ARPG's are compared to. Its pretty much a flawless game imo. Great grind and awesome vid!

Not quite flawless, mage builds are as boring as they are strong, and there's almost nothing to do once you have an even semi-end game build. You just farm faster for stuff you don't need, or play the most broken PvP known to man. D2 at it's peak was unmatched though.

the 259 keys of terror is 43 Ist runes, a Ber rune trades for 7 Ist runes. The keys of Terror could have got you 6 Ber runes with just those keys alone. Add all the low low runes cubed up to Ral and Sol, 20 of those each are in Ist rune, 7 Hel runes is an Ist rune. 10 Perfect Amethyst is an Ist rune, 20 perfect ruby also an Ist rune, 40 perfect gems outside those ones also is an Ist rune. So the keys of terror, Ral, Sol, Hel runes, and and all the perfect gems, you should have something like 30+ Ber runes. after all that running. You did this for the fun of it and was fun to watch, but knowing the economy it was way more interesting to watch. 🧐

Man, I remember last ladder I got an SF Enigma by level 87. I thought my luck had peaked when I found the Jah rune, then my luck peaked when I found the Ber after making a game to trade a charm for one, then found my 3OS AP later that day. First Sur rune I found was also while running Countess, feels good man.
