Reiki Healing with CIHS President Jeffery Martin

Jeffery Martin, PhD, is a social scientist who researches personal transformation. He is a Reiki master and is the author of The CompleteGuide to Reiki. Jeffery is currently the president of the California Institute for Human Science. Portions of his research on power of thought and non-symbolic consciousness are also available in the popular fiction book series, The Fourth Awakening.
In this video from 2017, he describes how his mother’s illness prompted him, at a young age, to seek training as a spiritual healer. Reiki is a tradition that originated in Japan and is generally attributed to Takao Usui, although there are antecedents. It entails channeling a spiritual energy source, rather than willfully endeavoring to direct some form of healing process. He describes how he was able to use Reiki to successfully heal broken bones. However, he notes that healers seem to have individual specialties. He also notes that research studies have, overall, failed to find a significant effect following Reiki treatment - even though this is not consistent with his own personal experience.

Mr Mishlove I would like to thank you for all the knowledge and information you have provided over the years. That was another great interview. I am a Reiki teacher and practitioner, so I would like to share with everyone that Reiki is definitely a spiritual experience, a type of Healing Magic. The healer uses energy, sacred symbols with their names while he's invoking the Reiki flame for healing. In recent years many healers have been working during the Reiki sessions with higher spiritual beings, archangels, guides etc. Greetings from Athens 🌟

Interestingly, it bears mentioning that the description of Reiki healing as described in this episode bears many, many similarities and parallels with the LDS’ Church (Mormon) Melchizedek Priesthood’s art of healing & blessing through the laying on of hands.

Shouldn't this video be titled "CLASSIC REBOOT"? Regarding the forms of spiritual healing (channeled , volition, information (Energy Cure (Bengston), etc)... how would you classify : Light of Johrei , Seiki Jutsu , and Science of Mind (Ernest Holmes)? BTW, Yogis (Rohit Arya, Sadhguru) suggests that Reiki attunements may inadvertently cause the practitioner to take on some of the negative karma/disease! Would have liked to have heard if Jeffrey Martin has ever had this happen? Maybe it was behind the talisman / brown-thumb incident?
