I realize starting from scratch in these kind of projects is part of the fun but a few afternoons spent soaking in Raf's and Bill's shows for the brand + the doc Dior et Moi would have really help you to speed things along, for example: literal mini cushions under the basque beside the horsehair canvas (as opposed to just horsehair/crinoline) pad stitching or how dramatically shaped the panels should be. It also seems like your original collar just needed more fullness Overall: a fun and solid effort

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. I do think all of the fun was starting from scratch, although I have also seen Dior and I many times, and I got a re-watch in the background while pad stitching. The shape of the collar was also informed by a mid 00’s behind the scenes atelier KZbin video. I did do my homework, but that doesn’t make the translation from seeing it to being able to create it any less of a challenge ❤️.
