Reinhardt Needs a Rework In Overwatch 2

Reinhart being a relic fits his character tbh, buff his damage by fire strike causing firedamage and buff melee damage. Not saying him being a relic fits his character so don’t rework him.

All he needs is a second tank partner, him and bunch of other ow1 tanks weren't designed for 5v5 at all.

Rein simply doesn't have enough in his kit tbh. He has a rough time getting/staying on targets because he has no speed like Ram/Queen, no range and ability to damage/mitigate like Zar/Oris, and his charge is farrr too unreliable and predictable not to mention insanely high risk . I think Rein as a hero just needs to be updated to even remotely compete with the other tanks. Also once his shield breaks he is useless. he should get speed because simultaneous damage/mitigation or range is not part of his design. He should either slow people slightly with firestrike to help him stay on specific targets he selects, or gain speed as his shield decreases. Good reins can hit those slow inducing firestrikes making it better for higher rank Reins and not so good for lower ranks. The other option being speed as barrier health decreases could add nuance to enemies going against him. You wouldn't want to necessarily shoot his barrier because then he becomes more lethal, so Rein wouldn't take as much focus and CD's as he is now. Theoretically at least. his charge should just do more damage or have a faster animation before moving. I like the high risk but the reward is super dogshit rn. especially with increased hp and mobility creep across the board.

I feel like rein just needs either a speed buff somewhere or a larger healthpool (in exchange for less health to shield)

Rein has a positive win rate in all ranks just let him be a beginner hero

i suppose i can see why he would benefit from a rework but at the same time it would kill the feel of reinhardt to me, and he is one of the very few things that remain from old overwatch. Which is why i dont think i want him reworked

That’s literally the issue, none of the original tanks were designed to be in a 1-2-2 comp. That’s why every tank except sigma needed a rework when OW2 came out. They just forgot about rein. Theres one statement that’s always been true since OW1 came out. If rein is good, the game is good.

Reinhardt definitely needs a rework, he's still set up for the double shield meta of OW1, & even playing him feels stale & old now. Definitely would LOVE to see a rework thrown his way.
