Korea don’t have any discrimination laws for foreigners which is why it’s so easy to reject and be rude to foreigners (I’ve lived in Korea), so I understand their pain. It’s difficult. Wish they could highlight this issue more in the show because it’s something every foreigners who lives in Korea for a long time faces.

It's so silly that they have to get "naturalized" to become a Korean citizen. Their mom is Korean. They should automatically get Korean citizenship. Also the fact that they speak fluent Korean and have made an effort to be Korean. In America, if you have a parent(s) that is a US citizen, you are a US citizen. And of course, if you were born here, you're a citizen.

Korea don’t allow DUAL CITIZENSHIP if they got Iran or foreigners’ citizenship, Korea don’t recognize them as Koreans. But if koreans abroad but have foreign citizenship want to traval to South Korea, there is a visa special for them if they can prove 1 of their parents or grandparents hold a Korean passport, they can easily enter Korea.

In the US and Canada a Korean could sue for being discriminated against at work or if they didn't get a job because of race. However in Korea they only want foreigners to be teachers, maybe restaurant workers, and possibly laborers...that's it. And there is no law against discrimination. It's very ignorant, wrong, and hurtful that many Koreans think foreigners can't be doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, or CEO's in Korea. Even though in other countries many Koreans hold these positions. I love a lot of things about Korean culture. However this is one thing that I find to be a turn off. And makes me not want to visit or enjoy the culture like I use to ☹️.

It’s been a growing concern for many Foreigners living in S.K. Many opt to leave the country entirely after just a few years there. But the discrimination or (foreign labor issue) has spilled to many sectors in the country and is something the Government would have to really look into in fear of looking completely biased, losing tourism and so on.

If you do a comparison to US and Korea it is EXTREMELY rare to see a foreigner working at a hospital. Now think about it a hospital is huge and has many employees but not one is foreigner 🤔🤔🤔?? Not one Dr, nurse, or clinical person. Not in the cafeteria, janitorial service? But an American hospital. I have been to plenty and guess what...I've seen diversity in all areas. And for those who want to say 'oh oh its because they don't speak Korean (Hangul).' We know that's not true because plenty of foreigners do speak it. So no sir I respectfully disagree. Yes, races sometimes get discriminated against in the US. But definitely much less in comparison to Korea. And at least there is something you can attempt to do about it if does happen. In Korea you can't do anything about discrimination. With all of that being said I still enjoy many things about 🇰🇷 culture 💙.

Both of them are so pretty, and a government employee and flight attendant is a very realistic and stable job, good to know that they want to pursue something more obtainable. I wish there were more laws passed in Korea to not discriminate employees based on race, gender, age like America as long as they can perform the job, but korea is so behind in equality even in the workforce.

@@charmander777 Yes but there are plenty of jobs, some people cannot be flight attendant since you need to travel all the time especially if you have a family. A government employee involves exams and interviews, and there are many fields you can go into depending what you specialize in. Also not everyone would want to work for the government but for a company with more prestige and pay.

@@vivianwhee Koreans call their country hell joseon for a reason. I often fly in korean airlines...their flight attendants are top notch...it's very hard to get a flight attendent there. Most young Koreans want a government job that's secure. High competition. Same for getting a job at Samsung

@@charmander777 since she knows both korean and iran, she can work in AirAsia, Asiana, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, etc, flight attendant is not a high paying job and she is more than pretty and skilled enough. government job is way more competitive with civil service exams, like 2% rate out of millions, but the old will need to retire eventually. there is always small and mid-size companies out there with foreign relation opportunities.

South Korea is to good to be true when you are a foreigner or even a half korean. Working there would not be easy unless you'll be taking jobs that south koreans dont like example are factory work & menial jobs that doesnt require a degree. Because of the risks of these jobs koreans will find someone else from other countries to work. It's really good to see that the reality of like is being shown here in this youtube channel. Koreans will discriminate against anyone who is not fully Korean. The child of my professor got bullied for being half Chinese. The bullying started once they heard him speaking Chinese with to his mother. They like western features but getting married to a westerner and having kids with them is frowned upon. Just look at most mixed race Idols. They all share the same bullying story, but now people love them for their looks. I couldn't take longer living more than 5 months in that country. Being a black person you receive more discrimination and unpleasant looks. I feel so bad for anyone with a darker skin competition living there because they will never really be considered part of their society

To be a gouvernement employee you have to be a citizen for some years I think. But still I hope she succeed. She is beautiful. Sadly Korea, Japan, China don’t allow dual citizenship so it’s hard to succeed in the naturalization process.....they want to make sure you integrate into the country well. Korea and Japan are stricter on foreigners since they have a small land with big population already....

I agree they should allow dual citizenship because many mixed kids or asians who were born or grown up overseas can love their 2 nationality or identity. And it’s easier to travel and keep family ties. I’m fine with them limiting their immigration quota since they have small land and don t want too many immigrants to avoid overpopulation.

I get it that South Korea is a bit strict on becoming a citizen, you don’t want it to be like the US. I live in Switzerland now and here when you’re born here with one parent from Switzerland, you have to live here for 10 years + do a language test and then you get the passport. I am happy that they didn’t make it too easy. If both parents are foreigners and you were born in that country, you don’t get that passport from the country you were born in, you have the wait until you’re 18 again and do a test.

That’s how it is for African Americans if you don’t sound “white” on the phone, if your name isn’t long or sounds “ghetto” to the employer, or for females if we are not wearing protective hairstyles like we can’t wear out braids in most jobs still; that is why most of us wear wigs so we can be socially accepted into society because it’s still that stigma about black females and our hair smh. И до сих пор есть негласное правило " не брать нерусских" на определенные должности и места работы.Что-то не видела,чтобы у нас кто-то рыдал. Мама меня учила всегда держать удар. Быть на порядок выше по достижениям. Кстати, в Корее нас называют русскими. Для хангуков мы все равно недокорейцы. А корейской крови у нас 100 процентов. Меня это не волнует. Я принимаю себя такой,как есть. А светлая кожа у меня от природы,в России в моем регионе нет столько солнца. Я без единой операции вполне нормально выгляжу. И мне все равно,что думают остальные. Для меня загадка,почему в Корее не смотрят на профессиональные навыки,ведь для работы это важнее. Зачем тупая красота? Тем более это относительная категория. Корейцы называют красивыми людей,которые с моей точки зрения выглядят обычно,у нас такие по улице ходят. И симпатичных называют страшными. Где логика? " Что есть красота, сосуд она, в котором пустота,или огонь мерцающий в сосуде?"

Unemployment rate among Koreans themselves are high, you're not entitled to a job or your dream job just 'cause you're a foreigner. Respect their law and don't whine about it.
