why do we need cutting Branches ? Give me the reasons?

When the mango orchards becomes old,the fruiting capacity of the tree decreases and so in order to regain the capacity,the cutting (pruning and training) of branches is necessary so that in the coming seasons the orchard can bear more number of new healthy branches and flushes that will help them to get good amount of fruiting loads on it.

I have two three suggestions for you 1. first give a cut from bottom 10% and then cut from top. so that there should not be splitting of bark 2. chain saw has its own direction and speed. you have to give full speed and just give direction. it will cut very smoothly. 3. Take a spray of chloropyriphos to avoid attack of stem borer 4. give suitable season in your area. 5. you can cut at height of 10 ft to develop canopy. sometime cutting at lower side resulted in shock to the tree. Use the three cut method to prune heavy branches to prevents the splitting of branches. you also will not have to support the branch if you use this technique. first cut - make an undercut 10 or 12 inches away from where you want to cut the branch, the undercut should be about half of the branch's diameter. second cut -make the second cut about 1.5 to 2 inches away from the first cut, cut from the top side until the branch breaks or splits. If it splits the first cut will stop the split from reaching the main trunk and the branch will fall down. third cut - cut the remaining part of the branch.
