marriage is a sanctuary for both, and if there is enough understanding and giving it can be the most beautiful relationship.

This is how I always understood this topic, without ever consulting books - just by reading the Qur'an, the Prophetic tradition and using my 'Aql. It's a shame that the Muslim world now understands it backwards - treating women like animals.

@RedEyeOf Jupiter looool, he literally just commented he's against treating women like animals, and you project your insecurities regarding polygamy onto his comment. He didn't even say he thinks polygyny is wrong. Rather from his comment it seems hes against the practice of men abusing the permissibility of polygamy. Just like many men abuse women even if it's their first marriage. There's nothing wrong with polygyny provided all the rights are fulfilled. But at the same time there's nothing wrong with a Muslim man in a monogamous relationship.

I disagree on what the shyak said that “women can do everything that a men can do workout baby aboard”. There is a reason Allah swa created men with Y chromosome and women with X chromosome. Technology can reduce some of the differences but cannot eliminate these differences. This type of mentality harms the upbringing of children as it takes a way from motherly roll of a women.

what is halal remains halal and what is haram remains haram whether one dislikes it or not.. Polygamy is clearly stated in the Quran as legal for muslim men. what matter is justice between wives period.. that justice remains to be observed forever by the man, and there also needs to be a social justice structure to ensure men fulfill that justice needed between the wives.. this is all that's needed justice.. but no one needs to preach otherwise only to appease western audience or western feminist societies.. afterall ALLAH stated by starting with "two" women for every muslim man to marry.. out of possibility for injustice among wives, then ALLAH later commanded one wife if any husband cannot guarantee that justice. With maximum respect for sheikh hamza but I disagree with his explanation of Polygamy in this lecture labelling Polygamy as Harmful or trying to deter its practice by muslim men.. that's totally wrong and may ALLAH guide us all.

It is not correct to say that nowadays women are cable of doing what men can do. Some office work, yes but it's the men who have the know how and the solutions of humans needs. Do not allow yourself to be influenced by the present feminist movement and the agenda to undermine men's place. Creativity, problem solving and physical strength are what made this beautiful world. And without men, it wouldn't happen. Men can do everything without women. But can women do everything without men??? Ney! One must understand the Nature of this planet. The moment you try to play with nature's rules, you have a major problem to face it. This does not mean that women are useless or incapable of doing anything, women are the mothers who gave birth to this 'unique creatures (men)'. Women are part of men, and men are part women.

I like shaikh Hamza but sometimes I really feel he rambles and isn’t very concise on the topic. Secondly I do feel he tries a bit too hard to appease certain groups and diaspora such as the western audience which also has the association of feminism incorporated into it unfortunately. To really make polygamy look this “harmful” as he puts it, in such a dark light is really not doing any service to Muslims and it does not win him any brownie points with the non Muslims or western audience as he tries so hard to pursue.

I like shaykh hamza yusuf, but it just seemed like he was waffling most of the time in this 4min clip. If a 2nd, 3rd or 4th wife was harmful then why would Allah SWT allow it? This is tafseer from Tahfeem Ul Quraan of surah nisa and on verse of polygyny i.e. permission to have 4 wives: Muslim jurists are agreed that according to this verse the maximum number Of wives has been fixed at four. This conclusion is also supported by traditions. It is reported that when Ghaylan, the chief of Ta'if, embraced Islam he had nine wives. The Prophet (peace be on him) ordered him to keep only four wives and divorce the rest. Another person, Nawfal b. Mu'awiyah, had five wives. The Prophet (peace be on him) ordered him to divorce one of them. (For the relevant traditions see the comments of Ibn Kathir and Qurtubi on this verse - Ed. So there you go, even sahabah kept multiple wives and in these instances as demonstrated above, even Prophet SAW advised them to keep 4!!!! Yes 4!!! Not 1 or 2, but 4!!! Unfortunately, some shaykh are being poisoned by the western feminist agenda. However, we men won’t fall for it. Well marry up to 4 wives as this is allowed. For those talking about fairness, fairness is subjective. For example, a house may be meaningful to the first wife but an apartment maybe meaningful to the second wife and if the second wife agrees to this, then there is nothing wrong in this in the shariah. Also, Sawda RA, gave up her night to Aisha RA so that she could spend this with the Prophet SAW. For those women stating men only get married for the wrong reasons ie lust and desire. Yes, 100% we do and this is the main reason. It’s in a man’s nature / fitra and Allah SWT has created him polygamous in nature, a man wants a variety and not just one woman. It’s the high testosterone levels and the way his been created. Do you have a problem with Allah SWT creation? If a man gets married for lust alone this doesn’t mean he can’t love or care for her as the first wife. A man can love more than 1 woman. Let’s take it one step further, concubines we’re allowed during the time of the Prophet SAW? Yes? Allah SWT could have told the men at that time to just pay and support the women? But they were allowed to have consummate? What extra benefit did slave girls provide men that their Muslim wives couldn’t? 😊 How many wives and concubines did Prophet Sulaiman AS have? Just google it and you’ll get the jist. So for those women who are still having trouble understanding this issue, please go and talk to a scholar in your area We don’t care about your emotions. Emotions don’t override facts or what Allah SWT has clearly mentioned. Men will continue to have multiple wives, in fact, I think men should set this as a standard so this eventually becomes the norm Anyways so there you go 😂

Zina is both, choice and mistake...how could a weak person like that would manage 2 families? Never ever doubt on what have written in Quran...its Allah’s words. The rules is not a mistake but the way man apply it in their life sometimes create another sins. People like to make use on what rules/sunnah said by doing it in a wrong way. Dont choose it just to escape from your own weaknesses but on how you going to fulfill huge responsibilities from it.

Syeikh, you should not put your own words in the verses of ALLAH, na'auzubillah...Quran clearly make it permissable with conditions of being fair, it's hard but it's doable since if it's impossible then why won't the verses just straight out say it's forbidden. Quran is nothing but confusion and it's only become confusing bcoz men who tries to add and put their own words on it.
