I feel like you were a minute away from what feels like a clear revelation by tying the end to the beginning: The goal with Fox seems to be to make it feel like you're playing as an Arwing in all aspects. He has the lasers, the reflector, the rapid maneuverability, the boost, and is rocket propelled. When you tie his moves together with his style, consider his quick speed, his high weight, and his strong aerial ability, he's just... an Anthropomorphic Arwing. This ties everything together in a neat little package, without having to comment on things like "he's in the military" or "maybe he was designed around his legs," and it brings back his specials in to neatly combine with his move style.

Plus, in Brawl and Smash 4, they both look like they're wearing boots instead of prosthetic legs. The 64 Fox and Melee Fox/Falco definitely look like their legs have been replaced with the screws in the clearly metal boots. However, in Brawl and Smash 4, you can see the straps around their boots. Their designs were updated from Melee to Brawl to likely reflect this as well as a bunch of other things.

I reckon Falco has a more flashy, show-off moveset with the spins mainly because he's a bird; they're known to be graceful and articulate in the way they move. Also, birds don't generally weigh much and would be less confined by gravity; hence the aerial spins and successive, articulate strikes.

Bayo isn't the easiest Top Tier to play; Cloud is. Once you can Smash DI reliably, she's forced to react much more often, making her BS combos not at all guaranteed. Cloud on the other hand is just so good at controlling the stage with his massive sword and high speed. He also isn't light either, so unless you gimp him w/o Limit, he's not gonna die early. Plus, he has 3 Spikes to get early kills as well as Limit Cross Slash.

Agreed. In 64 and Melee, he sounds a tad too old while in Smash 4 he sounds too young like he's going through puberty. Brawl had the best voices for both Fox and Falco. Melee Falco, much like Fox, didn't sound right. I much prefer Falco's smug Italian Brawl voice than his pompous English Smash 4 voice.

What I miss the most from Melee Fox and Falco is their designs, specially Fox. His face looked MUCH better in Melee than the dorky StarFox Command inspired design they went with in Brawl onwards.

Hard disagree with the face. He looks way too awkwardly stern and stoic. He looks grumpy not in the sense that 'I gotta be mature and serious' but more of 'I still can't get over my middle school confiscating my 3ds' look. I've also never seen that melee design emote any more than that mildly angry expression, nor I can imagine him being able to.

@@sonton2042 Shulk Monado Speed in Smash references a characters agility. Monado Shield increases Shulk's defense, but in Xenoblade it creates a barrier. Monado Buster increases Shulk's attack state at the cost of Knock back, in Xenoblade it increases damage to machines. The rest of Shulk's Monado Arts were made up for Smash.

I main Samus and was once faced with Fox in one on one. Oddly I didn't have too much trouble by just poking at him with Samus's Ftilt kick and maybe down tilt explosion. Maybe I caught him by surprise by being a Samus who doesn't spam missiles or something. I forgot if I won though, I might've given into the temptation to fire a charged shot without a safe punish.
