Thank you! I bought this pattern years ago, and now I feel more confident about making it. I'll need a full bicep adjustment, hopefully that is possible with a 2-piece sleeve... Mmmm, maybe it is time to join the Patreons...

Do ing a notched collar lesson would be great! Any technique you do is always welcomed. It helps us to be better sewers.

This looks amazing on you! I wasn’t too impressed to start with, but in the end it looks so great! I have been saving a wool Pendleton piece in camel for 30 years now. I just think the color will wash me out, but I love it with the red. I’m rethinking a coat now.l

Beautiful jacket, Karina. I've admired that pattern for a long time.... dare I try it? Yes, I'd love a tutorial on the notched collar.

I am at the level of sewing experience where I could sew a lined blazer, but that notched collar execution usually wrecks the look of my blazer. It never looks smooth when I do it. It’s up there with the shirt collar bumps. Love the blazer and that crisp notched collar ❤ will give it a try. Even like the muslin 😂 The pattern work is pure gold. Glad you are happy with life and sewing. We’re happy that you are sharing this with us. Thank you 🙏

There is an easier way to do the collar and lapel that I also like. When I film this I’ll Show both :)

Love your Heather Blazer, Karina. This is a lovely blazer and is fairly easy for a beginner, I agree. I made one in a denim fabric and fell in love with it. I need to make another one for spring. Thanks for sharing your modifications and styling 😊.

That is absolutely lovely! The shaping adjustments you made to it definitely improve it. It looks perfect with the blue clothing options. Caramel is one of my favourite colours too. Makes me wonder why I don’t have more of it in my wardrobe 🤷🏼♀️

As we are coming into coat season here in Australia I would love to see a video on the notched collar. I am making a few coats and jackets this season and think that a video would be helpful. I am an intermediate sewer but have never sewn a coat or jacket before. The jacket looks stunning over the long weekend dress. Thanks as always for sharing your expertise with us. 🌸🐨🌸

Several years ago I took a lined blazer workshop with the pattern maker. It’s been a long while since I’ve made one, however, you’ve piqued my interest to try one, again. As always, I pick up so many additional tips from your tutorials! What type of interfacing do you use? It looks like a knit tricot?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
I buy unbranded interfacing here. It’s not knit interfacing. It’s non stretch and it’s super light weight.
@valeriepatterson77998 ай бұрын
You can use a Hong Kong seam finish to if you want to make an unlined jacket. The inside of the jacket looks very tailored.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
Yep. That would be the plan :)

I need to go back and topstitch or pick stitch my heather collar. It just not as crisp as I would like. Mine also doesn't seem as long. I wonder if it's different for the plus sizes?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
I used the XS-2X draft and that’s the length. I found it super long. I don’t know if there’s a difference with the other draft.

Karina I really value opinion. If you wouldn't mind, can you please answer this question? You do a lot of pattern manipulation, would you ever use a projector to cut your patterns? Thank you♡
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
NEVER lol. I’m just never going to use a projector. It won’t serve my needs at all.

I assume if high bust is subtracted from full bust, this determines cup size. Is 3 inches B cup?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
3”’ is a C cup :) 2” is a B cup.
@helenwood31998 ай бұрын
Why does an under collar need to be cut on the bias?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
Allows more flexibility when it’s folded over. Not every pattern has it this way, but lots do and well made RTW garments have it on the bias.
