FINALLY a new 20min relaxing song.^^ This song was again very much inspired by the artwork, this time by Stephen Garret. I started imagining the village, the people in it and the surroundings and while I composed the music the fantasy became more and more fleshed out, until I could literally take a walk through Ohori Village inside my head and knew the faces and names of the people living in it. The name Ohori is a fantasy name I came up with btw, I thought it fits the character of the village.^^ I found out today that Ohori is also a Japanese family name so there's that. xD
The musical themes of the song kind of automatically adopted a fusion between South American, Pacific Islander and South-East Asian styles and instruments (with an underlying classical structure), which I don't think I've ever achieved before, so this song is quite special to me from both a musical perspective and an imaginative one.

This entire song is bursting with imagination. That sounds weird but I'm trying to find the proper words to express what I feel when I listen to this. It's so interestingly varied and evocative, from beginning to end, it sounds like it's the real product of some foreign culture or a high fantasy game/movie background score. I can hear some kind of story when I listen to this song, and I'm a fan of coming up with stories, so music like this is a gift from the muses for me.

13:50 The drums here remind me of last Christmas break when my family went on a vacation to Mexico. We visited the cenote Suytun. Coming from the dark staircase down to the cave was the sound of drumming, giving it an eerie atmosphere. Swimming in the cenote was so fun and relaxing, I'll remember that experience forever.

Years of traveling, and fighting, through treacherous swamps, blizzards, and storms, i could barely go on any longer. Yet, I had found somewhere I might be able to stay. A place I could call home, at least for a few months. A beautiful seaside village, named the village of Ohori, with everything one would need. A perfect place for a warrior to rest, for the time being.

Beautiful, I love the calm relaxing foundation upon which a lot of different variations are built. The flute with the chorus effect around 4 minutes and the additional instruments that join it after a while is sublime. The percussive bits around 8½ minutes are excellent too. You've taken your own style and embarked on a journey through some new instruments, which was a nice experience for us all!
