I can't imagine the pain of losing people because you are functionally immortal in comparison. This is why elves have such a hard time making friends, and tend to be aloof. Endless cycles of watching your friends grow old and die while you stay seemingly forever young because you age over centuries rather than years. It's hard for other to realize this at first glance, when you see that elf rogue in cute outfit, appearing to be in her late teens or early twenties... you're actually looking at someone who has already lived longer than you ever will, and has an eternity to go.

In this world, my current adventure is navigating a sibling who got his name on as sole beneficiary of all my (92yo) mother's cash assets right before she passed last September (Smaug). But i have allies: two sisters and a "fair maiden" i call Wife & Goddess. It's delightfully intense experiencing this world through the lens of the other. ​@@maple121 he said he went into the forest for wood as usual but decided to go a little deeper and found a section of the forest he never knew existed, it was filled with trees he had never seen in his life but felt the forest was weird as because it felt as if someone or something was always watching him but choose to ignore it and decided to chop a tree in that area that was on a small mound . As he was coming closer to the tree ,he the tree's branches began to shake in a unnatural way , as the axe got closer to the tree more of surroundings tree's branches began to shake unnaturally and as soon as his axe hit the tree a ear deafening screech came from the tree which startled himand he him fell back ,he turned around to leave but felt the entire forest had changed its shape as the surrounding area felt different to when he entered,he turned around in confusion to witnesses something horrifying,the tree he was about to cut , it's shape wasn't the same,as if it had turned around, as he crawled back facing the tree the tree started twitching and the roots were surfacing, no voice came out of his mouth as he saw the tree uprooting itself and moving towards him , as he felt death approaching he made a mad dash into the shaking forest hoping to find the exit and next thing he knew ,he was infront of the cabin and immediately went to the city guards and the adventures guild to inform what had happened and even guided them but they could not find that area as if they were not allowed to, roxan bacame terrified of the woods and decided to shift to the town centre with his wife and children using all the money his family had saved for generations and became a baker at his friend's bakery. even now he sometimes screams in the middle of the night about how the trees are coming and how he need to burn the forest down
