Relaxing My Natural Hair After 10 Years! FAIL!

In this video you guys will see me relaxing my natural hair after 10 years of being natural! This is not a drill! I really did it. Lol I will explain why I decided to relax my natural hair and show you how I apply my at home relaxer. Spoiler alert: it kind of ended up texlaxed instead of fully relaxed.

I love it like that, you basically did a tex lax which is putting relaxer in under the recommended time. Some people put in relaxer for 10 min or less to achieve that result. You should check out videos on people who tex lax.

Yeah! It was basically a tex lax. I put it in for the recommended time but for it to be more straight I think I should have gone with the super strength. But I loved how this turned out instead!

When my mother was relaxing my hair it was thin and always the same length for all those years (I didn't know my natural hair until I cut off my relaxed hair) and after taking care of my own hair my hair is so long after just 2yrs. Every time I cut it is at 2yrs and it'll be so long yet I had relaxed hair let's say all my life and it never retained length... I'm so thankful I'm a do it myself type of person.

Yes same here! I realized it’s because they were applying the relaxers wrong and leaving them on too long. Your hair is still supposed to have a bit of texture after a relaxer (not like the way I did it though 😂) and my hair would be BONE straight when my mom did mine. It has no strength at all smh

I like how it turned out! Just make sure you don't get the roots straight when u touch it up, so it's all even. Keep it deep conditioned and well moisturized. Maintain protein moisture balance n I think you'll be fine.

That's why you need to ease with the protective styles and learn to do ur hair while wearing it out...I literally had to forced myself to,it wasn't a fun process ...even if it's just a protective style using ur natrual hair only it's a step in the right direction

If you don’t take care of it yes! From my understanding as long as you give ample amount of time between the treatments it’s fine. Not the healthiest, but fine

depends on if it's permanent or a rinse... Rinse is fine but permanent/ bleach is not.

I've been natural for 6 yrs and I'm the same, I cut off my hair or do something every 2 years because at that point I become bored. Not that my hair wasn't growing or unhealthy. When you're doing things like this I get wanting to go according to the instructions but the instructions doesn't specify to the amount of hair on your hair so sometimes your hair doesn't even have time to fully straighten everywhere.. take it with a grain of salt. A little wiggle room. Your next relaxer is your true test because since your hair is technically texlaxed it's going to be different textures all over.

I hope this is not really relaxer. Relaxer is a professional product, and should be applied by professionals as per EVERY SINGLE relaxers recommendations. Now please do not relax your Virgin hair like this. Its hard to maintain hair that has a mixed texture.. but its VERY hard to maintain a head full of mixed textured hair that has been chemically altered. Each type requires a different amount of moisture and care.

@@reesepieces92 it's hard work because a lot of people doing too much, and have the wrong expectation...I wash and condition every 2 weeks and put a little grease in...place in 4 big flat twist...wear for 7 days...take out spritz with water and a little grease...flat twist again...also take iron
