This is so cool! After watching last night I did it on my mare today (in the pasture, no halter) she immediately started releasing. It went on for quite a while! She must have really needed it. I will continue to do it every day and it will be interesting to see how her releases change. Thank you!!

Great video! My horse has a lot of tension in her jaw and poll and it's giving her terrible headaches, to the point where she's lashing out at other horses... I've been working with a great equine physical therapist and trainer, but this is a great technique to do myself!

Thank you! I’m so sorry your horse is going through that. You’re and amazing owner for listening to her and working through the tension. I hope this method helps! I will be posting some other videos similar, hope you subscribe!

@@freespiritequestrian She's tensed all over, sadly... She was imported less than a year ago and I'm her fourth owner (at least) in this country. Poor thing has been moved around constantly. I just came back from the barn and tried the jaw tension release. Good god, I have never seen her yawn and lick so much XD She was a lot easier to groundwork with right away!

That's cool. How did you put your hand in your horse's mouth without getting bit? That's also amazing.

How do you do the tention release without the horse biting you?
@freespiritequestrian3 жыл бұрын
Hand placement, if you put your hand in front of the molars and behind the incisors you will not be bit because there are no teeth in that area. Plus trusting your horse etc.
