Thank you Neal, this makes so much sense. I can't tell you how many times I've been recommended to do these 'chin tucks' and have never felt that it helps. Thank you for confirming this, especially so I'm not working against myself. I hope I will have the pleasure to work with you directly someday but in the meantime I am so grateful for these videos and everything you share. 🙏💗

Your descriptions of postural problems have had a profound influence on how I exercise especially with improving my left heel strike. Your explanations of the connections made by the brain have been a game-changer. I am finally sensing more and more layers of my body and the process is ongoing.

Thank you so much for your videos. Your videos led me to the PRI website which led me to my local PRI certified therapist. Learning diaphragmatic breathing gave me an almost immediate relief from my life-long chronic shoulder pain. I'm still working on my hip pain with my therapist but I'm feeling very hopeful.

Interesting. I've been dealing with pain in my left rhomboid/shoulder blade area near my spine if that makes sense. Massaging here gives me some relief. Do you think it's related? If it is related when will temporary relief turn into permanent relief? Maybe if I do this massage everyday it will rhomboid pain will go away completely

Hey Neal! Love your stuff and have been on my own healing journey. Hypermobile, but it is not genetic. I have a theory that hypermobility can develop epignetically and is linked to atlas/axis misalignment. I think this would fit in nicely to your exploration of deregulated nervous systems being the u darling cause of various health issues. Misalignment at the top of the spine affects the nervous system greatly as well as the structural posture of the entire system which can lead to upregulation/downregulation of collagen in such a way that can lead to non-genetic hypermobility. Very curious if you have any thoughts on this and the role up upper cervical care along with postural restoration

@@nametabekul You could say that all of PRI comes back to the O/A joint. So if someone is “stuck” at the O/A joint due to “cranial issues”, for me it was vision and my jaw/teeth, that can lead to autonomic nervous system dysregulation. In PRI it’s called “patho”. One individual may get really tight while another becomes “stretchy”. It depends on the individual. So yes, the OA joint is of extreme importance for autonomic nervous system function.
@nametabekul2 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the thoughtful reply, Neal! The individual response to this systematically, whether whether it be becoming stiff or stretchy is so curious to me. My intuition suggests that it has to do a lot with how individuals develop emotionally in response to their life experiences. Is there any research out there? You might be able to point me to that suggests novel theories about why some people become stiff and some people become stretchy
@NealHallinan2 күн бұрын
@ Could be early childhood development, trauma…it’s all autonomic nervous system activity. Vision can play a big role, also.
@nicolaslouis96715 күн бұрын
Regarding vision, you have to take into account the light intensity but also the sensitivity to color. I feel it particularly by installing an extension on the browser for example, which allows me to select any color. Green or yellow give me a better perception than blue for example. The effect of the 'sharpness' of the vision is done quickly. The fact that the eye sees badly is also a cause of the jaw shift. To see what my brain perceives, I use 3D glasses, and 2 rectangles of different colors nested one inside the other on a black background. If the glasses have a red lens and the other blue, I have to find the right red and the right blue of the rectangles that must appear or disappear depending on the open eye that looks through the blue or red filter. We dissociate the eyes, so we see how each eye acts live. When I blink, I know that I have a lag in my left eye to come back to make the single image with my right eye. So I see a rectangle that comes out of the 2nd and slowly comes back, so it doesn't facilitate 3D vision, therefore spatial perception. I also have a problem with image persistence, which means that when I read, for example, a black text on a white background and I look elsewhere in the room, I see black lines for a few more seconds in the shape of a staircase, as if the text read was imprinted in the eye.

Hi Neal, I have a question. If someone does have an underbite and crossbite, are you saying that none of the techniques will work unless that’s addressed? I’ve had the worst jaw pain for two years which I’ve fixed 100% just with focusing on diaphragmatic breathing which was life changing. However, I am also dealing with a lot of front of the neck tension that you’ve explained so well here and it’s very hard for me to relax it. I’m realizing all these other things in my posture that need to be addressed but I’m worried that my underbite/crossbite might make it impossible to treat on my own. I’d be very grateful for an answer 🙏🏻
@NealHallinan2 күн бұрын
@@juliakow222 What I can say is that a crossbite will generally prevent an individual from getting PRI “neutral”. From a PRI perspective, that will prevent a PRI program from working. Since what we are dealing with is tension, there are many ways one can learn to reduce tension, but whether someone will get full resolution with a crossbite, remains up to that individuals brain. Hope that helps.

This is really a "chicken or the egg" situation. If your feet aren't stable, your entire body will be affected. I have worn "normal" shoes all my life, and my hip flexors and quads were so tight I had a SEVERE anterior pelvic tilt. I'm on the fence about barefoot shoes, but we should all be in zero drop shoes with a big toe box. It just makes sense.

I'm missing 3 bottom right molars(5, 6, 7), for like 15 years now. I've been chewing on the left side only this whole time. Over the last 10 years I developed a horrible SI joint/hip/leg/glute/groin pain on the right side, TMJ issues on both sides. Absolutely nothing is helping, even painkillers, no stretches or exercises ever helped either. I'm in the process of "regaining" lost teeth via implants, but would that actually help anything or am I just cursed to be in pain for the rest of my life now? It's not like I'm implanting any removed nerves back, it's just a titanium and composite prosthetic to get TMJ back into sensible alignment. I am also hypermobile. If I can't restore any kind of balance with implants, would it make sense to also remove 5, 6, 7 on the left side then and replace with implants? lol

Hi, i found this channel today and it made many things about myself and my scoliosis click, I searched right away for an online consultation but the price is just too high for me, almost half of my monthly salary, I know your time is really valuable and it is really likely that you are someone who actually went trough something similar to what I deal with right now, when you explained the conection with the jaw, and bu looking ot your face and crooked nose, I'm hopeful honestly, so I just want to be able to contact you and see id you can help me by at least giving me a couple of consultarions more by the same money, or something like telling me the imaging you'd need and everything so I can get a lot of value with just one meeting, becouse even if I save for the first one, it would take at least 3 moths of saving to pay for the next one. Please just let me know if there is any way in wich you'd be willing to help me, but regardless, I'm gonna start saving for this inmediatly
