Map idea: Relic race, similar to relic nothing except every 5 minutes (or whatever time is more appropriate) the person with the lowest amount of relics in their monastaries gets eliminated. You can use military to attack enemies and their monasteries. Win by being the last man standing with the most relics. There is potential to add kings for regicide or even a KOTH aspect to provide other ways of winning

An idea for a map: Gaia military buildings being the only way to produce units. Say each base starts with a Barracks nearby, and then a semi-random pattern of other military buildings are scattered around that can be captured like a wonder. Until they are captured, they are immortal. Once captured, they can be destroyed and when they are, a new one appears under the control of whoever destroyed it. I feel like this would be an absolute horror to create, but it would make for a few interesting matches atleast

Training Nothing... Units are advanced at certain number of kills... Militia becomes men at arms with 1 kill, men at arms becomes long swordsmen with 1 kills, LS becomes two-handed swordsmen with 1 kill and THS becomes champion with 2 kills just as an example of how units becomes more experienced. Also in the case of spearmen, archers, skirmishers, knights, light cavalry and unique units. Maybe they are created for free... The better microer will win or the best healer or whoever values their units life.

Map ideas: (I don't play this game so I have no idea if these are even possible.) King Nothing= Everyone starts out with a king. There are no resources on the map, but a garrisoned king will generate each resource much like a relic does gold. You can purchase additional kings at a high price OR you can gain additional kings for every X amount of enemies you kill. Regicide. Mobile Resources= There are just a handful of each resource on the map (say 16 stone piles, 16 gold piles/relics or both, 16 trees and 16 farms) each source is unlimited and they all run away from players at ram speed. Village Idiots= All villagers explode on death, but only do friendly fire damage. Dune= A desert map with some solid ground at base locations for base building and farming, but resources are only found in the desert. A countdown timer warns players of impending worm attack. When timer reaches zero, multiple non-resource desert tiles will be randomly selected and any unit or structure that happens to be on that tile will be destroyed. The cycle will continue to repeat, selecting previously specified tile types, until the game is decided. Jaws= Like Dune, but an Island Fish Nothing map.

At some point, it might be better to ignore the relics of your enemy instead of building new monastaries. At a market price of 1000 gold per 100 wood, you need 1750 gold to create space for 10 relics. 10 relics is 5 gold/second, that means at least 6 minutes in-game time until a full monastery pays off (350 s + some seconds to collect the 10 relics assuming you already have the monks). Even more time is necessary if you bring the relics to your own base. With the same amount of wood, you could build 2.9 farms = 1600 food on long-term if fully upgraded = 27 paladins. For teutons, it is even 4,4 farms or 40 paladins.

Some kind of hero based mode would be cool: Each player gets a hero (Buffed special unit for their civ) and maybe it can have a few other powers like heal surrounding units, or act as a worker with extra speed, etc... All civs have different hero unit, but same abilities to add balance. You don't die if your hero dies but off setting the loss will prove difficult. Maybe have an in game based timer on health/ attack so that it's not full at game start - which would reduce just imbalanced hero rushing at start of game

I think portugese Feitoria would work out well, just because with a severe lack of food, wood, and stone, those resources would be exceptionally useful to be trickling in when the market is blowing up.

A relic generates 30 Gold per Minute and Feitoria generates 48 of food and Wood + 27 gold + 15 stone per minute. On average players gathered 80 relics ( 30Gold/min x 80 = 2400Gold/min or 40Gold/sec) at the later stage food and wood both cost 1000Gold per 100. With relic generated gold one could buy food/wood every 25 seconds.(100 resources) With five feitorias a player would generate (48food/wood per minute x 5 = 240/min or 4Food and Wood every second). It takes 25 seconds to generate 100 of Food and Wood (200 resources). Without the Gold generation included. The problem here is: 1. 100 Population space 2. It becomes only worth it with ridiculous market prices 3. One has to play Portugese 4. Becomes obsolete with relic dominance 5. Farmers are more efficient for Food (20 Farmers vs 1 Feitoria: Farmers generate 0.44food/sec with walking x 20 generate 8.8food/sec and 100 farmers would generate 44food/sec vs 5 feitoras with 4food/sec) (In the same 25 sec 100 farmer generate 1100food) I believe that the feitoria is just a waste and only useable on maps with no gold and wood left and no trade possible and only 5 relics and no other paranormal resource gain. Sorry for bad english though.

You're wrong about the feitoria. Orange didn't die because of the feitorias not being good, he died because he couldn't answer the pressure from blue due to lack of early military. A couple of feitorias might have easily won him the long game due to the massive costs of food, wood and stone on the market.

Teutons for the conversion resistance team bonus. Would be very useful in diplomacy. "Oh, someone is monking all over you? If you tribute me stone for my castles I will ally you." Keep your teutonic knights in the castles once you get crenellations, making you unappealing to attack. Your monk healing range bonus also gives you a good diplomatic tool when fighting breaks out. Essentially your tactic with teutons should be war-profiteering.

Feitoria nothing: each player starts with one and the map is full of them. You can smash the feitorias or you can convert them for more income. So you need to balance when to have them and when to delete the ones you have for pop space. It might be fun as a king of the hill type game.

Just below me Ranger Cado said something similar, but my idea has a twist.Gaia buildings are all over the map; markets, barracks, lumber camps, mining camps, mills, etc. Buildings can't be destroyed, but players start with a monastary, and a monk. They also have the tech to convert buildings. So the only way to destroy someone else's buildings is to convert them. The only buildings not on the map are Universities, Castles, and Town Centers. Got to build those.

Some ideas: Arena nothing: Map played on ludikris, you get your normal arena base in that base is forest nothing, outside you base the map is fully made out of fully upgraded byzantine walls. Berrybush nothing/Food nothing: Map full of berry bushes, you start with market aswell. Don't know what your everything nothing is. But here's mine. Everything nothing: You base begins as forest nothing then after a good while you get a ring of berrybushes. After the berry bushes you get a ring full of degraded stone, and finally after the stone, in the middle of the map you get FULL piles of gold ( bit like gold rush but moar! )

The teutons have actually two insane bonuses for relic nothing: the farm discount in HUGE when it comes to producing food. 50% more food from the same amount of invested lumber(gold) is quite significant with those kinds of market prices.

If I was playing this game mode, Heresy in the tech tree is a must. Buramese would be amazing if it wasn't for that because even if a relic is moved, you still have line of sight of it's starting position, which is practically the whole map in this game mode. Honestly between the full monetary tech tree and the resistance to conversion, I think teutons are the best choice for this map (assuming aztecs are banned of course).

I think theocracy is a really important upgrade on relic nothing. It makes your freebie monk army actually effective. For the same reason, you want to go into high attack, low defence, glass-cannon-type units. Like scorpions. Because you don't lose as much from them being converted. Probably also means you want to prioritise attack upgrades over defence upgrades. Because again, conversion bypasses conventional defences. The more defence upgrades you buy, the more valuable your opponent's monks become. This in turn, coupled with the lack of stone for defensive structures, will make relic nothing meta very ridiculously unstable. A lot can happen in a very short space of time. I don't think there's anything wrong with spamming monks the entire game. This would be a very good strategy for Spanish with Inquisition tech. Burmese isn't good for this strat because the monk techs cost gold, and slavs are no good for it because the monks are too easy to replen to bother with armour very much.

IdleNothing where you have Regicide and the kings always move, you can only control destination and as soon as it gets there it moves off in to a random direction unless you redirect it. And no garrison allowed.

1) Fish Nothing. From the start every player have 1 dock, 1 vil and market. Vil can't build TCs. Only land on the map, it's starting islands for each player. Everything else it's water full of deep fish. Islands not very big, but have enough space for 40 houses and other buildings. 2) Wonder Nothing. Can be any map, like arabia. But every player start with Wonder. Res and setting is standart, player colors random. I understand, player1 will win it, if no one kill him first, but that's why it's fun. Every one know who should die first, but next will be p2, etc.

Relic Nothing? Vikings. Good eco bonuses for the start, keeps your villagers upgraded. The monastery techs are very perfect for this, ensuring anyone with a monk civ can't just convert you. And Berserkers, simply gold and food, are very affordable. And their upgrades are so strong, with their passive healing and mobility. The lack of counters to them due to other resources being harder to get highlights them. They're also very mobile.

Guys, what about this idea: No villagers, fishing ships, feitorias nor markets. Everybody starts in imp with a certain amount of buildings and resources (that are obviously extremely high) and has to make use of it. This way, when a building gets destroyed, it is more drastic, since can not be rebuilt and if it is a house or TC you lose pop space. Obviously no elite petards..

I do think the feitoria could be very useful in this mode. If you are not dying when you start buiding them. You get a small wood income with will allow you to build farms without bying wood, then you have a virtually infinite gold and food income. With the tricke of stone you get you can build castles and bombard towers, if you get to that point you will be very hard to beat, the problem is that you need to be left to your own devices for long enough. You also get bombard cannon wich counters both rams and trebs wich would be pretty much the only way to beat you at that point, and at the same time you can just spam heavy cavalry forever.

There should be a team game in a nothing map that is divided into 8 zones. In the middle for the teams and and the area for each team is divided in 4 regions, each with only one kind of resource. Also I'd suggest to make a unit called "the drill" that can be in siege workshops that is a modded siege ham that can destroy mines and to make the onagers able to destroy barry bushes.

Sheep nothing, players can train sheep at the tc for 25 food. Farms disabled, no fish. Limited wood lines. GO!

Market nothing... Each player starts with ten trade carts or so. There are a few indestructible markets (say 5) scattered around the center of the map and those are the only markets players are allowed to trade with.

Cool nothing ideas: conversion nothing- (only 7 player max) start with only a few monks, has to convert p8's stuff in order to do anything. No ability to create units except monks, have to convert everything military. Units to convert spawn around map periodically.

.....just an idea, don't know if it is doable. Queen has the special ability to forcibly eject king from a garrisoned building if there is no queen in it. It would definitely make the queens useful units for both attack and defense.

I wasn't paying a lot of attention, but was it mentioned that the Teuton's farm bonus would also be a big help on this map? Franks could be good too: good cavalry, cheap castles, free farm upgrades.

Feel free to go ahead and ally Blue Coffee he could be trusted, just make sure you start trusting him by surrounding his kings castle with bombard towers to protect his king even more than with just his base.

Tower nothing, vital resources are locked behind bunch of watch towers, guard towers, keeps, BBT and walls. The more important resources and the further they are from starting areas those resources are heavier defended. Towers would produce 1 pikeman every 15 minutes has passed. Such map would require propably to make it only 7 player since gaia is convertable by players walking nearby so 8th player must be AI controled to take care of the towers, however the pikes should not be moved by AI arround, they arejust there to defend from cavalry, rams and early vill rushes.

Aren't Burmese just seeing whole map here? I mean, they're getting life feed of all locations where relics where at the start of the game and it's WHOLE map! So maybe players haven't chosen them because it felt cheap in game mode where intel is so important?

Fish nothing, everyone starts on the same island with TC, Habour, 3 vills and 3 fishing ships. Some wood in the center but except for that it's all coming from fishing.
