I’m so glad Relient K is still a band. I’d be really sad if they weren’t. The world needs them. They actually sing with more of a purpose than just for enjoyment and musics sake.

I’ve listened to Relient K since I can even remember. I’ve heard every song they’ve ever made (or at least I think) I’ve loved everything they’ve made, but this song, this song is one of my favorites of theirs and just in general. This song is so beautifully composed. I know this is 4 years later but I feel I needed to say all this. I love all the instruments, but oh man that sweet sweet piano. I also man because of the piano. But this song, it’s just so beautiful.

I see this song not really being a romantic song but more like it is describing a concept in a poetic way. Awesome!

To think that this could be a tribute to a wedding that didn't happen, makes this song even more heavy-hearted to me.

@@crudesketch8051 Forget and Not Slow Down was heavily influenced by Matthew's breakup. I like to think of this track as a sad retrospective on that time.

Helllo whoever reading this. I don't know why I am doing this, maybe to set a little pin that will remain a long time... Relient K is my favourite band, their discography, covers, ideals, the feelings put in each song, and how they demostrate the love not only for themselves, other persons, but algo to God. But this song, i had literally listen to this more times that I can even wonder, and it feels so bad that it is soooo underrated, that even the band have everything to be more famous and gets to millions of people, like those bands that will be in the podium all life long. But it doesn't... Is it not totally, but almost the opposite of what they truly deserve. They are so small in a certain way, but so great, to compare to a little heaven. If you are right here, reading to this, if you feel the song, furthermore of others of the repertoire, if sometimes you feel like anything has sense and it is gruesome to keep going for whatever thing, well... Think about this little piece of heaven, think that from all the possible places, times, situations, etc... You are here, you might not known that famous person who died long time ago, or to live when everything is perfect out of illnesses, conflicts or whatever; well, you are here, with the opportunity to listen to this bands, to feel the warmness of your lovely persons, between other things. Make all your desires, likes, actions and whatever that defines you; to be worthy.

I picked a flower and I named her... She withered away A heart like a locket but I'll find a way in Oh, but beauty has to fade Oh, I don't know, God I don't know Just that I want to love somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody I will never kiss your wonderful lips I'll never tire of dreaming of it As I drift off to sleep Listening to chimes ringing clear as the morning I’ll set my soul free I felt my heart sing and my spirit soaring Was this whole world made for me? Do you hear wedding bells? Do you hear wedding bells? Because I want to love somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody I will never kiss your wonderful lips I'll never tire of dreaming of it As I drift off to sleep on the water I think about everything else And I know that I must love myself 'Til anyone other than me Can look and then see what I see And sense where the harmony dwells Do you hear wedding bells? I picked a flower and I named her Watched her fade away A heart like a locket but I'll find a way in On an island in New York today Do you hear wedding bells? Do you hear wedding bells? Because I want to love somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody I will never kiss your wonderful lips I'll never tire of dreaming of it As I drift off to sleep on the water I will never kiss your wonderful lips I'll never tire of dreaming of it As I drift off to sleep on the water

It seems like he is speaking of beauty as a concept like, a flower could be a heart or soul that seems beautiful at first but then beauty has to fade and things have their dark side , the world can be beautiful and dark same as your heart, and then he sleeps on the water that pulls him away from such beauty in life so that he must find beauty in himself.....

I'm going through something I've never experienced before. Heartbreak. I always thought people exaggerated what it really felt but man was I wrong. This is the worst thing I've ever gone through and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Kallie, I don't know why your feelings changed. I thought things were going so well. I'm going to miss you more than words describe. You were the most amazing girl I've ever met in my life. I know God has a plan but I'm unsure of what it is and I thought you were a part of it. I hope you find happiness elsewhere, and if we're meant to be in the future I'm praying God will let us pick up where we left off. Goodbye 💔

@@hannnniya very well. I got listening to air for free today which led me to this song... Which eventually led me back to this comment section where I poured my heart out almost 5 years ago.. you know it's absolutely crazy to think about how much has happened since then. I didn't understand it at the time but that relationship ending was the best thing that could've happened because it led me to my wife. Yep. Now I'm married, I've been married since Tuesday, march 24th of 2020. God works in mysterious ways, but I'm thankful for the experiences and lessons I was taught on my journey to finding my favorite person on earth. Life's beautiful, tough, and sometimes heartbreaking. I've experienced many other trials since leaving this comment. Trials brought through Covid-19 causing havok on my career and even losing one of my closest friends and coworkers as he passed away in his sleep unexpectedly at the age of 27. If anyone is reading this comment and is struggling or discouraged due to heartbreak or loss, believe me, I understand. It sucks. Life just sucks sometimes. But you have to keep moving, you have to have hope. There is always hope. :)

_Air For Free_ is a microscopic fraction in the shadow of _Forget and Not Slow Down_ . That being said. They are both masterworks of the highest class. I have (and still do) listened to them for literal weeks on end.....repeat repeat repeat....without tiring. They are gorgeous pieces.

@@rhettgedies7467 Not quite fair to compare anything to FANSD, everything RK up to Collapsible Lung was absolute perfection, Air For Free & Collapsible Lung are merely great albums. No one can maintain absolute perfection forever. but i sure hope Matt & Matt keep trying

@@SorenKk I really disagree. Air For Free and Forget are their best works to date. Five Score is classic and Mmhmm is also gold. Two Lefts and Anatomy are nostalgic and Relient K......is Relient K. This song meant nothing to me when I originally heard the album 6 years ago. I loved Cat and I learned Air for Free on my ukulele. This year I heard this song again on my phone and I feel it so much. I am sad so often after the death of my friend and his family. I have a long term relationship I'm not sure what to do with. I feel so much of the "what if" this happened? What if life had been good? I'll dream of it.

_CL_ was intentionally written as a shallow pop album with an emphasis on the dark side of romance gone sour. With that context, it's a decent piece of production. It follows _Forget and Not Slow Down_ as pt. 2 in a really emotionally tale before turning positive in _Air For Free_ .
