I know everyone is sayin the same thing but these are-reactions are genius cuz Nas music is not made to catch everything on first or let alone 2nd listen… too intricate. Appreciate what’s do; Salute fam 💯

Especially Nas but good music period needs to be soaked in over and over again. With my old head hat on I will say that even the notion that music can be listened to and all of a sudden next week it's old is a direct result of how today's music is produced and conceived. The fact that Kendrick Lamar is receiving grief because he takes his time between albums used to be the norm but I'm a firm believer that real artist need time for life to present material and inspiration...let that man cook in peace. We will benefit because of it. This microwave society got us asking for the next album as soon as we finish the first listen " oh Yeah this a classic " type shit and ain't heard other certified classics or caught all the gems off of what they listening to. Shit its some stuff from the 80s and 90s from certain artists that I still catch stuff from time to time even if it ain't nothing but a sound or a drum kick in a certain place. Marinate on all your new to you music youngblood. That's the only way to truly appreciate it.

IT WAS WRITTEN is my favorite Nas album. to me it's the best lyrical rap album of all time. the amount of content he put in that album he was on a whole other level. I remember having the cassette n cd of the album and inside were all the lyrics to each song and it was like reading a novel. thank you for taking me down memory lane! gotta check out Nas "Life Is What You Make It" "Wanna Play Rough" "Nazareth Savage" and for sure "Who Killed It" 🔥🔥🐐🐐

One day you need to do Take It In Blood Part 2 just to see how almost 10 or so years later he was still on it and in some ways even exceeded Part 1. The Message is some of the smoothest delivery and the confidence levels were unreal. When you remember that most of the track was a "friendly" competitive set of jabs at **The Notorious B.I.G.** for the #1 spot in NYC at the time, you just immediately realize that son was a different breed raised in a DIFFERENT different era. I think he was about 22 when this dropped btw. Edit: Come to think of it, new suggestions are Take It In Blood Pt. 2 & The World Is Yours (Remix).
