You, sir, are one patient man. I've seen other content creators post videos here, but the individual videos seem to exclude the entire process. It seems to be more laborious than standard reloading. More power to ya for not only reloading 22 LR but also instructing it.

Nice to see some information on reloading the .22, but I don't thinhk is was necessary to go through the full 13 minutes on resizing the cases and nothing else. Bummer

Reminds me of that quote "this is an exercise in futility" That applies to reloading .22lr😊

You could try to relieve the opening of the shell holder with a Dremel tool. May allow a little more room for warping of the rim

There’s another KZbinr who has a successful method for resizing the rim also. Traffer is his name.

Theres a zip tie hack where you face your shell holder the the left and ajust the zip tie to kick out the shell when you push you handle up try it i did it for 45 and 9mm

*For a cheap primer that works 100% of the time just use good old fashioned 'Corrosive Primer' Chemical (Sodium Chlorate, NAClO3 59% + 39% powder sugar and 2% virgin battery acid). The acid carbonizes some of the sugar and makes the NaClO3 more volatile. (Note: Don't use Potassium Chlorate as a substitute for Sodium Chlorate!) This makes a good working home-made H-48 type compound in the simplest way possible! Much safer than making Lead-Azide plus NAClO3 , Sugar and battery acid are all soluble in water! (Don't forget to put a squirt of WD40 down your gun barrel after shooting to prevent rust but its an overrated problem useless you plan to store your gun for long periods of time.) Just make sure your home made H-48 primer is VERY dry before loading any gun powder in the shell, like sitting a few days in the hot summer Sun on a black tray! (150F. for 48 hours!!!) Also you can remove the flat spot on the rim by machining a hardened steel rod that fits the diameter of the .22 casings ID. Place round on a 1/4" sheet of tough **#75D** rubber, insert rod and smack rod firmly with hammer. No more strike mark on the casings rim! (If end gets too dome shaped flip casing over and gently strike on domed end with hammer to flatten, done.) You can reload these about 20 to 30 times before cases get too weak and split.* Note: Before starting any of this tumble your brass for 2 days in a bed of #9 bird shoot or until its very clean!

I think Zincperoxide and sulfur would be an good primary and it would be less corosive. Any infos on that?
@johnslugger8 ай бұрын
@@Preyhawk81 Zincperoxide is a bitch to make! Sodium Chlorate can be made at home with some salt water, Platinized electrode (anode) and a battery charger for DC power.

I really like that Hornady Unique case lube. It also works great for case forming. About priming mixtures - do you know if Tannerite can be used for that purpose? Scraping cap gun caps tends to get a bit tedious.
@SladeMcCuiston3 жыл бұрын
I don't know about using tannerite, but I'd assume that's dangerous.
@joearledge12 жыл бұрын
Some commercial primer recipes have included explosives. (TNT, RDX, ect..) these were/ are in nanoscopic amounts and mixed with a list of other ingredients. So tannerite might be viable. I wouldn't think it would be sensitive enough by itself to be set off by the firing pin 🤷♂️. I could be wrong though. If you experiment, please be smart, safe, and share your results with the community. 😊

13 minutes of resizing cases with a few good points in the commentary. Would be much better if he used a representative sample of case sizing then on to the next step.

What do you do about the firing pin punch mark on the rim of reloads ? Too many of the punch marks is conductive of misfires due to the firing pin hitting it again.
@SladeMcCuiston3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, there's not a good way to fix the dent. Just load the cartridge to where there old dent is at least 90 degrees, preferably 180 degrees, from the firing pin. Easy to do in a detachable box magazine, not easy but possible in a single shot, and not possible in a tubular magazine.
@camm.71063 жыл бұрын
@@SladeMcCuiston why not make a punch that fits down the neck then lightly tap the dent out before putting your new primer mix in? Would help to fix this issue no?

I dont thing Primal is corrosive i use it for my pistol primers
@SladeMcCuiston2 жыл бұрын
Prime-All is corrosive. It's also known as Armstrong's mixture. I have seen where people used it to remanufacture primers, but I don't understand why you would be remanufacturing primers when they are readily available. I've stopped using Prime-All in spent .22LR cases and just found a source to buy primed .22LR cases. It's cheaper and easier than trying to re-prime them.

Only scrubs lube straight wall brass
@SladeMcCuiston4 жыл бұрын
Only scrubs make posts like that. Number 1, these aren't carbide dies. You have to lube the cases or they'll get stuck. Number 2, rimfire cases have a folded case head that is inherently weak and can easily fail. You need to use lube or the case head can fail. I don't use case lube on straight wall pistol cartridges with carbide dies, but I do on everything else. Go troll somewhere else.

*Somebody has more ambition than common sense....Fired 22 LR's are notoriously difficult to prime and powder charge consistently. About the only time this is worth the effort is if you're going to use them in a single shot firearm or/if/and there is absolutely NO OTHER OPTION, and even if you get it right, if you inadvertently load the reloaded shell with the previous firing crimp in the same position as the previous firing, you will get a mis/non-fire for your trouble. Even now, 6 years later, post goofballs hoarding all the ammo they can get their greasy prepper fingers on, phase, 22LR is not that expensive.*
