I know this may be more in depth then most want to get but they do make different sized large circle punches. Depending on what size ring you need you could buy a punch for the inner hole and one for the outer hole.

Yes, you got it. Using a 1.25 punch for outer and a 5/8 inch for the center hole and it is pretty much identical to the factor disc. V.4 final will be out soon with fast easy, clean reloading.

You could. A bit thick, but I think would still work. V4 reload will be out in a day or two. Trying to keep it to less than 4 min. Will be final one. Uses thin paper like tissue or tracing. Is fast / clean. V1-3 were really brainstorming with viewer suggestions. 👍🏽😁

Have you tried just like wetting the salt to keep it in? I would think that you could just lay them down a nice flat surface put the salt in with a few drops of water and it should desolve enough to hold them in no taping or anything

@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
Yes, wow. How do you even know this stuff. Does look like a possible match. I actually used magic tape on this one thinking it would be fast application and clean up. Application was fast but clean up was a pain. I have a final reloading video coming out based on viewer feedback that is pretty fast efficient, easy cleanup and low cost. Can do multiple cartridges a minute. Plus the early reloading videos are a little embarrassing. The shredder was brand new and we were all curious if we could even reload it. So a lot of brainstorming which generated a lot of feedback. 👍🏽😬

That would probably work. Ended up using tissue/tracing paper. cut outs, and school glue (for easy clean up). Kosher Salt is heavier per grains, but lighter than the whole load of table salt. Give it a try. I'm subscribed and waiting for it. I also missed the 1st order but on a waiting list.
@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
That sounds like it would work great. I am posting a new video today. V3.0. I didn't try the kosher salt but sounds interesting. I have returned to the fly on poop shot which shows some pretty massive devastation. This is done with the regular table salt. I think that is a great suggestion and will put that on list for future video, maybe kosher as well as other potential projectiles.

Question, with the crossman vigilante since the cartridge is kinda similar can you pack them this same way and turn it into a salt gun as well?
@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
Great question. I have one on order so that I can do some testing. Another viewer had commented that he had ordered shredder cartridges and was using them in his vigilante. I am assuming you can load vigilantes the same way. The shredder loads are actually less expensive than the vigilante 3 pack cartridge. (I don’t recall what they call them) so it may be economical to purchase a pack or three from bug a salt regardless. I would recommend if you fire salt through the vigilante, to maybe fire a couple of lead pellets through the barrel afterwards to clear salt residue. The vigilante description says it has a steel barrel, doesn’t say stainless. So I would worry about corrosion/rusting with prolonged salt use.
@DiverStain3 жыл бұрын
@@justanotheravgjoe1314 hope you put out some videos of you testing it because I’m interested in seeing how it performs and how it compares to the shred-er.
@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
@@DiverStain Yes, I am also interested in seeing how it does in comparison. According to other viewers statements it works, just curious how the dedicated salt shooter does in comparison to the pellet version. A side by side would be interesting as the Vigilante sells for a bit less.
@DiverStain3 жыл бұрын
@@justanotheravgjoe1314 yeah that’s why I’m debating between which I should get and how well it would work for me. Also as a side bonus with the vigilante, you could have the shred-er cartridges and the pellet cartridges to alternate between having a salt gun and pellet gun.
@jasonm.73583 жыл бұрын
So, my aunt collected “salt cellars” or “salt dips” when I was a kid. Some of them have a tiny little spoon that seems like it would be perfect for this. I also love the idea of the kosher salt, but for maximum effectiveness a mix of table salt, kosher salt and perhaps a dash of cornstarch would give you maximum load. You could mix in some of the powder from a desiccant packet would be helpful if you want to keep the salt powdery. Hmmm. Setting the loaded cylinders with one side open outside for a few days… you might could make salt slugs. Now THAT is going to destroy a wasp. If I had a centipede or a scorpion, I’d be game to Give it a try.
@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
I like the salt slug idea, but the shred=er has a plastic pillar across the barrel opening, that I am guessing is to break up any clumped up salt.

Comparatively less expensive, an Umarex TR50 revolver might be able to load this way. Fewer shots per cylinder, but .50 cal vs .177 is a LOT more salt per shot.
@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
I have actually been messing around with my buddy's TR50, trying to figure the loading, the cylinder walls are very thin between chambers so trying to figure the best way (or anyway ) to retain that much salt. Also I have to figure where to shoot it, don't want to destroy my growing spaces.👍🏽, Maybe Sand or Corn cob media, might be better.
@jasonm.73583 жыл бұрын
@@justanotheravgjoe1314 or perhaps walnut shell abrasive media? It’s soft enough it shouldn’t hurt the barrel. To retain whatever powder (sand, BBs, whatever) I’d be tempted to try the aluminum tape, like they use to seal water-heater and furnace flues. Stuff is crazy sticky, but not terribly tough. Might be helped by a pinhole in the middle of the front and back, but it should shred instantly when the CO2 pressure hits it. If I knew what adhesive to use, like on masking tape, I’d use cheap aluminum foil stuck on. Incredibly flimsy. If you find there’s tape you do not want to stick, add a smidge of cornstarch. Tape with cornstarch on it won’t stick to anything. Hmm. Aluminum tape on front, dust w cornstarch to make the tape unsticky in the cylinder, fill w media, add cornstarch, dust top of cylinder to allow tape to stick, tape on top? Might keep tape from sticking in the barrel.
@frobozz19953 жыл бұрын
Ya, I thought about this too, what ya need is a .50 'shot' cup like a shotgun shell, keep the salt (or sand) from touching the barrel. Would not like either in the gun anywhere, so would need some way keep it in the cup til fired. Probably work on mice even with the sand? Barn cat gets most of the mice but I can see having a cylinder of this loaded up.
@Fokkkker3 жыл бұрын
there has to be another tape that is thinner than the magic tape, so that your shots are more consistent.
@justanotheravgjoe13143 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I bet there is, some of the tapes are just have too good an adhesive though. I keep looking there are probably many ways to do it better, I have been trying to use the products most of us already have around the house. I used the magic tape primarily for after shooting cleanup and re-use. Some of my earlier attempts with different glues and tapes just left a lot of work at the end. I wish I had had the time to film a few more takes with a fresh CO2 cartridge, the reloads had been working perfectly during my previous test fires, The CO2 at the time of filming had already been fired 50 -60 times, I hadn't changed it because , well, honestly I was being cheap and thought I could squeak a few more cylinders out of it. I haven't tested it to see how long the CO2 lasts.
