Seeing the way that Ladybug treats Cat noir (she feels annoyed and she get mad because he ruins her plans, plans that she never explains to him) she treats him like a fool, not like a partner. And then the way that Marinette treats Cat Noir, they had deep conversations, and they have fun, but she forgets almost in a second everything she discovers about Cat Noir being Marinette and still keep him in the dark and treat him like a fool.

Tho Kagami too gets a similar treatment, as she too is turned into a simp queen for the main OTP. Also the new Felix + Kagami plot feels like coming out of nowhere, to me. The only other time the two met was in "Gabriel Agreste" (S4) in which the angrily glanced at each other for 1 second. NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN he's madly in love with her. He basically kidnaps her, and even if she's got enough common sense to call him out for that, she still falls for him..? 🤨

I always felt like Luka was a bit older than everyone else. He was designed bigger and wiser than the rest of the gang and I never really noticed him at Juleka's school (why would you put your twin kids to different schools). Not being Julekas twin would also make it more understandable, why Jagged was thrilled to see Luka all the time, but not Juleka. If Anarka was still touring with Jagged while they already had their first child but got fed up with the lifestyle after getting pregnant for the second time and left, then Jagged would have remembered interacting with Luka at least as a baby and have no connection with the not-yet-born Juleka. Making Luka older would also explain his maturity and why he is so chill. It would also be a good reasoning as to why Marinette had a crush on him. He was in control of his life, which is what she lacked in her own.

Luka was originally written to be older. In an old tweet from 2018, Thomas Astruc states Luka is two years older, but I guess he must have gotten backlash over the age gap, so he changed him to being Juleka's twin. I think he deleted the tweet because he got outed, but there are screenshots available on Google.

The worst part for me was how horribly Luka has been written out. Somehow Monarch managed to read his mind to find out that he knows the superheroes' identities, but he had no such questions/ability when he nearly akumatized Marinette at least twice from what I remember. They didn't even bother explaining how it's different this time, but if this is a new (unexplained) ability, this means Marinette can't risk showing a negative emotion from now on AT ALL, otherwise she risks him learning about her identity. Really unhealthy for a 14 year old in particular :/

There was an explanation but it was half assed... Mari was "fine" cuz she focussed on her positive emotions (kinda toxic tbh) to break her connection with Monarch (easy for her cuz she never was fully acumatized before and Hawk Moth didn't know how to connect to her yet. Luca had not 1 but 2 identities to protect. Hawk Moth already knew how to get to him. Once he would resign control to hawk moth there would be no stopping him from going after Mari and Adrian, afterwards everyone close to them (since he knows most other identities too since Miracle queen). Acumatized Luca with all his knowledge (and potentially Sazz's powers) would be unstoppable. Silencer almost beat them, combine it with the power to erase mistakes... Luca was and has the potential to permanently claim MVP status without doing anything

The way Luka and Marinette's brief relationship ended, and it's aftermath, was so much less realistic than the fall out and rekindled friendship between Adrien and Kagami, Luka and Adrien should not be so amicable, I'm not saying they should be antagonistic towards each other but there should be a bit of awkwardness considering Luka is Marinette's ex who was headover heels with her and Adrien is the guy she loved during her relationship with Luka Also, Marinette asking him about relationship advice was as weird as the time she tried to get him to not be at HIS birthday party. Kagami is presented as being socially inept but the way she expressed her feelings was so much more mature and direct.

He looks at her, a bit surprised but his expression otherwise unchanged. She shuffles away. "That is why i always ran away, why i lied to you, why we had to break up. I couldn't keep hurting you. You deserve so much better. And despite it all you are the only person I can tell, you are the only one i feel like i can trust." He puts a hand on her shoulder. Therefore he solves the love square cuz how tf did he not grow tired of it. Also, Luka solves the season 4 finale. The moments Marinette appears with the dog user Luka actives his 2nd chance. "Ladybug, who is that?" She gets defensive, saying how she doesn't want to reveal her teammates. He raises an eyebrow. "The moment you say so i delete this moment from time. But if i know you right, then this is not who you think it is." "Luka, what are you talking about?" "You wanted Adrian, didn't you?" She stumbles backwards. "How..." "That isn't Adrian. He wasn't on that train. I don't know who that is but someone already impersonated Adrian once and hurt all of you! I am not allowing that again." Chat noit steps forward. "Felix?" The dog boy stumbles backwards. "What? What are you talking about?" "Felix. Cousin to Adrian. Once you put on his clothes and ruffle through your hair you look like him. And you took his world tour with Lila. Because you can refuse his family." "What? How? Those accusations are lies! Ladybug, believe me, you know me. You can trust me." Luka laughs. "Guys! this is the user of the dog, his name is-" "Felix. Adrian's cousin. An imposter. A miraculous isn't suited for him. Get whoever used it last time. Trust me." And thus Sabrina returns, the day is saved, Felix gets grilled at some point in time to reveal why he lied to LB, the sentimonster story is revealed, Gabriel never becomes Monarch and is instead defeated. LB gives the peacock to Felix, trusting him to protect himself and everyone like him but to never use the powers to harm the innocent. He is still angry but gives in, thanking her and turning a mew leaf. Adrian and Kagami are still shaken up by the reveal but Luka takes care of them, convincing them they are real people, no matter how they came into being. That they deserve to be happy. That their hearts have a tune like everyone else. And that Mari and Master Fu were right to trust them. Kagami falls for him in that time and they leave to travel together while Adrian goes to Marinette, confesses to her that he loved her since she first allowed herself to be free, that she was who set him free from all the pressure his father put him under. They kiss and as they part all their friends as couples are around them, celebrating. A bit apart from them stand Kagami and Luka, his eyes meet the pair in the centre, he winks before leaving with his girlfriend. His mission is completed. Everyone he cares for is on their right path and his path is next to him, rambling about all the things she wants to try. He listens and makes a mental list for her, smiling.

I remember when Luka was Juleka's older brother before Thomas and the writers reconned it them being "twins" which made no sense because you could clearly tell he was older than her. But in all seriousness, they basically pulled a "Poochy" and had Luka "go to his home planet" so they didn't have to that pesky intrigue and just revert things to status quo. That's why (I believe) they had Gabe get the rest of the other Miraculouses so they can just have it be Chat and Ladybug trying to defeat Gabriel (which since it's practically confirmed Adrien is in fact a Sentimonster) which most likely could end up like either Chat Blanc or the season 4 finale where Gabriel SHOULD win because it's basically a fore gone conclusion at this point (but I feel like the writers will pull something out their asses so that miraculously won't happen.)

I adored Luka's character and I really liked what he brought to the table, only for them to kick him out two episodes into the new season and do absolutely nothing of value to him. He leaves to "protect ladybug and chat noir" but then comes back in the finale as one of the guardian's disciples? WITH ZERO EXPLANATION. I kept wondering if I had missed an episode somehow but no, it really happened out of nowhere. The writer's just keep fumbling the bag over and over.

There's another thing that bugs me. The nature of Luka and Marinette's relationship at a certain point has been shamelessly RETCONNED, from "they both felt something for each other" to "he was in love, but she only ever saw him as a friend". Seriously, this is what we're told in "Crocoduel": the canon is suddenly altered and the audience is gaslighted into thinking that the romance had always been one-way only. ...THEN more recently, in S5, Mari at a certain point says that "with Luka, it didn't work out", which is another 180° turn: either she was never in love in the first place and friendzoned him OR she was interested but it didn't work out. PICK ONE! (Also: the reason she dumped Luka in "Truth" was SOLELY bc she had a secret she could not tell him. In S5 she resumes chasing Adrien and ultimatively manages to get together with him... she won't tell him her secret either... but suddenly this is not an issue anymore!) 🤷‍♂️

Let me elaborate: Mari was portrayed for a long time as being in love WITH BOTH. There was absolutely no difference - other than your own personal preference for one of the ships - that could make you tell "oh, yeah she only has feelings for one but she's def in love with the other". The only big difference was that she was able to talk to Luka, but that in and of itself doesn't mean it couldn't be genuine love: just that he was able to put her at ease. I also stand by my statement that the sole reason why Mari and Luka broke up in "Truth" was bc of her secret. Nowhere in that episode we get to see that she somehow realizes "oh this isn't real love". We are presented with a series of scenes in which the two seem the happiest couple in Paris, they can talk about anything and always have a good time... they were about to kiss in the cinema and it didn't look forced. Literally, the ONLY obstacle to their relationship in that episode is her being Ladybug, and Gabriel seemingly being on an akuma-frenzy which basically prevented Mari from being able to have time for Luka. She wasn't even thinking of dumping him: it was Luka who felt she was hiding something from him, and that made him feel unconfortable. He thought she was still thinking of Adrien, and she explicitly denied that. They do not break up bc she somehow realizes that Adrien is the one and only: that never happens in "Truth". They break up bc she has a secret, which is seriously getting in the way of their relationship, and Luka isn't OK with that. She never indulged in thinking of Adrien for one second in "Truth". This leads to Mari undergoing a personal crisis, as she realizes she won't be able to be in any relationship bc of her duties as hero and guardian. Later in "Crocoduel" this is simply retconned: there is NO MENTION of the secret as an obstacle to the relationship, not even in private dialogues between Alya and Mari. That issue is simply neglected as if it never played any part in the breakup. Mari just states that Luka is in love with her, but she'll never feel the same. She is only in love with Adrien. Now, since you're convinced it's a matter of text comprehension, please let me know at what point in "Truth" Marinette finds herself thinking about Adrien. I went through the episode script one more time, she mentions Adrien once and it's merely the recurring gag of her having his photos in her room and being embarassed by that. She does call Luka "Adrien" once in the scene, but again, it's part of the gag. She does not think of Adrien when she's about to kiss Luka at the theatre or during any other of their dates. I'll give you one thing tho: I'll admit she doesn't exactly *immediately* go back pursuing Adrien, I probably fast forwarded that part in my head.

Yeah, I agree with you. It would've been cool to see more of Luka at the beginning of season 5 till Migration, especially after what happened in Wishmaker when learning Ladybug's and Chat Noir's true identities. As you said, he could've been a mentor for them secretly. All that, and it would've been more interesting to see a Lila and Luka interaction, with Lila trying to lie and manipulate him only to be shocked that he isn't buying anything and sees right through her lies, especially if Lila mentioned Marinette's actions when they were dating to try and break Luka and get him to hate her only to backfire as Luka knows the truth and isn't that easy to manipulate. And for Luka to be Adrien's friend at the beginning of season 5 would've been cool to see so that Adrien has someone who knows his secret identity and can keep it a secret (sorry, Nino, but you can't do that) only to leave and have his life spiral out of control. I really wish that the writers did more with Luka. I wonder what his role will be in season 6, then.

I have a personal headcanon that Luka did tell Adrien that he knew he was Cat Noir off-screen, like you suggested should have happened - that would explain why Adrien doesn't seem surprised or concerned when Luka not-so-subtly shoves him in a closet alone after saying that they need Cat Noir, why Adrien seems completely comfortable confiding in Luka despite them barely interacting before Wishmaker, and why he doesn't react nearly at all when he tells everyone he knows Ladybug and Cat Noir's identities at the end of the episode. I agree that it would have been really nice to see that relationship develop on-screen though. Truly a wasted character. On another note, I will now be quoting "To be a Luka fan is to suffer, and it's been that way since day one" on a daily basis, thank you very much.

Sass was also portrayed like a leader among kwami's. He learned about both Ladybug and Chat Noir identities. In season 5 finale we saw he and others got trained by Suhan during their travels.

I still think Luka forming an unlikely friendship with Chloe could be a good chance to set up a final redemption arc for Chloe. Have Luka become an unlikely confidante to Chloe -- he is Jagged Stone's son, they could bond at some stuffy masquerade or something. Then Chloe starts to spiral out of contral once she sees Adrian & Marranette get together. And then Chloe sinks even further after her father gets sick her abusing Zoe and chooses Zoe over her. Then Chloe falls under the influence of Lyla whom uses Chloe as a pawn against her war on everyone. Lyla also isolates Chloe from Sabrina so Chloe has absolutely nobody left who cares about her. She is completely alone in her missery. This is where Chloe hits rock bottom. She is akumatized, takes over Paris and betrays Monarch (Chloe stings Monarch with the power of the bee) all according to Lyla's machinations. Luka is taken hostage because he knows who Ladybug & Catnoir are, but instead of giving up the info he talks to Chloe and is finally able to get through to her. Chloe rejects the akuma, turns on Lyla for using her and turns herself in. I know this is all a tall order, but I honestly think that Luka's laid-back self-help guru vibe makes him the only person who can get through to Chloe. The dude has the patience of a saint. Spend some time developing his relationship with Chloe at the start of the season and rest should fall into place. Then the Luka/Chloe ship could become an endgame thing.

Then taught him how to defend himself from akumas, and protect his mind so monarch wouldn't feel it. Also should have had Luka become Adrian's Alya, as a friend who adrian could confide in even as cat noir. I mean Alya knows Ladybug is her friend, but Adrian has NO ONE. I also still think ephemeral should have been an inverse of Cat Blanc, with Marinette being the one akumatized. Where marinette wanted to speed things up between the two romantically, Hawkmoth abuses that, SUCCEEDS in akumatizing her, she reveals her secrets to him, has her message Cat Noir using her miraculous. Luka manages to save the day as before, or Bunnix does the same thing.

You know what would have been great? If Luka was the one who told Kagami and Felix about Marinette's identity. Perhaps he was counseling them on their situation (Luka does have a reputation of being a mature person who gives useful advice), and he decided that telling them Ladybug's identity would be useful because it was important to finally bring Monarch's reign to an end. It would show that Luka has good judgement - he kept Ladybug's secret for a long time, but he finally revealed it when it mattered the most and Monarch was about to strike.

I wasn't even interested in the character in the first place, because he was literally created just to be a second love interest for Marinette, considering he ticks all the boxes a generic love interest should have, like being a musician, looking punk, always knowing how the character is feeling at the moment. Not to mention every appearance this guy has, he is always thinking about Marinette. Like in Silencer, his entire band is plagiarized and he isn't akumatized, but the second someone threatens Marinette, that's enough reason to akumatize him. Like bro, your entire life's work got stolen in front of you, but you get mad when someone threatens your crush?! And it's not like it's both as he states it was because someone hurt Marinette. However, I completely lost fate in the writer's handling of the character in Season 4. So we spend 1 a season and a half building up the relationship between these two, have an entire season where Marinette can't decide between her two crushes, have her finally decide at the end... AND BREAK THEM UP IN THE FIRST EPISODE OF THE NEXT SEASON!? And if that wasn't enough, Luka finds out a few episodes later about the secret identities. Ya know, THE ENTIRE REASON THEY BROKE UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!? So instead of having Luka talk with Marinette about it and possibly get back together or having Luka be sort of confidant for Adrien like Alya is for Marinette, nope, they do absolutely nothing good with this.

I don't think she experienced genuine love ever and, episode 25 spoilers, I felt really bad for her when stopped at Sabrina's contact and cried. Gabriel on the other hand, is just a piece of shit who justifies putting innocent people's life in danger, destroying the city and MURDER, just because he wants to reunite with his dead wife. Ridiculous. I heard that Marinette as a character is a reference to Astruc and his highschool crush's imaginary daughter. That's why Astruc is giving Marinette all the spotlight, that's why SHE is the savior of the day. And since Chloe has been her bully for years, Astruc now just straight up hates his own character. How can someone hate their own creation?? Instead of stopping being a simp and trying to be a good writer (just give Chloe her redemption arc for fucks sake) he introduced a new character, Zoe! Chloe is a much better character than Zoe. Chloe has better backstory, not better but more personality, played more role in the series and has a lot of potential. I've seen comics and fanfiction were Luka finds out Ladybug's and Chat Noir's identity because he can hear people's inner melody. That would have been interesting if he knew all along. And if someone ask if he can figure out who Hawkmoth is. Well Gabriel doesn't really go out much as himself or villain. Plus I don't think Luka would get close enough. Then with him telling Adrien he knows. I've read a couple of fanfics (a thing from the miraculous ladybug fandom that is better than the original.) And there Luka does just so and is there for Adrien. Ecspecialy in one were Adrien almost. Well makes himself bite the dust. And I wish they could have had him be a support in the show. But Ofcourse it's only Marinette who's the main protagonist. Even if she and Adrien are suppose to be the two main protagonists together. Luka's character was waisted. From going from a side ship to just being there. Heck Kagami got more development. My guess is that the writers didn't know what to do with Luka and just forgot about him. And later wrote him out to make it easier. Luckily we have fanfiction that can help us calm down from the original.

While I don't ship him with Marinette, or anyone for that matter, I think Silencer was definitely one of, if not the best episodes he was in, it showed he was seriously concerned about something he loves, and he stood up for it, as he should, and they haven't done anything with him like that since.

They treated him right tho, no one knew that he knew so until there was a villain Who forces him to tell It he keps It secret because he knows no one has to know. i'm glad he didn't tell neither of them until It was necessary, still i agree they used him a lot less than they should have

i honestly wanted to quit the show there. they messed up not only luka but chloe as well i don't know where they are going with the show. THEY NEED A NEW WRITING TEAM!!! How th is luka leaving the gang and just out of the show but kagami now knows as well but still being able to stay and be a character. luka the support character that everyone needs. Everyone there needs therapy mostly marinette and sadly adrian with his father cause it going to go down hard

I didn't think they actually do that cause omg SHE A TEEN!!? The whole episode felt so out of character for her, she just following lila around listening to everything she says it like ok chloe who don't listen or follow anyone and make her own rules please follow the girl who lied to multiple people. The whole episode was just trashing on chloe it insane just wow. It felt like a personal attack on chloe as a whole. When i mean chloe makes no sense i mean

I would have liked to see Luka start off ok but not as calm and perceptive, and over time we would see more of his story and how he's growing and getting better with his emotions until he gets to the point that we see now. It would also be interesting to see him a little upset about his father's revelation because it's going to be a big change, and as Luka always puts others above himself this would be the moment where he would reach his limit and need some time to process everything instead of just accepting Jagged in the same episode he discovered the truth.

I mean this kinda ties back into how badly used Adrian is given the plot line revolves around his family. Everything Marinettes has, Adrian should have picked up by now including a Secret Keeper, either Nino or Luca. Hopefully season 6 actually gives Cat something to do in this series? maybe he can solve a Ladybug problem.

I was so socked when the episode aired, i couldnt believe they straight up just removed him from the show! Im still so pissed, i really liked his character and back when he was first introduced he was a very needed change from the usual dynamic. Kagami got a cool new storyline, and maybe they wanted luka out because of felix? Either way we got robbed 😔😔

yeah, I'm probably not going to be taking opinions from a youtuber, especially after realizing that biased opinions are not the best sources of information. Seriously, I started checking all the info people like smarty pants claim to be true...its not. Luka's character wasn't ruined, absolutely no one knows what they are planning to do with him, and of course he had to leave Paris, did people really expect him to just go around doing something his new info when he knew Monarch was always on the hunt to figure out the heroes identities? Luka had to lay low, and when he was discovered, he had to leave for his own protection and everyone else's. Honestly, why do people keep making a big fuss over this when its so simple to understand?

Our only hope now is that because Luka knows and Adrienette is officially cannon he could start dropping hints at who's who. Like he could drop hints indicating Chat Noir and Adrien are more similar or vice versa. Luka could also work as a support like the way Rena Rouge was for Ladybug. Another However knowing our luck that may not happen. One can only turn to the fanfic at this point.

I agree Luka is one of my favorite characters in Miraculous and got butchered so badly he had so much potential to move the story forward how are you gonna let Luka know the identities of two of the major heroes but then write him off and then keep Kagami? It sucks because he's not the only character that's been butchered all of Marinette and Adrian's friends have so much potential to move the story forward but then they're only introduced to be akumatized villains, to be drooling puppy dogs to Lila's lies, or just help Marinette and Adrian confess their feelings and if they do get an episode about their self it's always minor and it never helps moves the story forward that's probably one of the most wasted things about all the characters in miraculous.

i wish they would give Luka more emotion character development screen time and more development in his and Mariettes relationship example he could have shown more emotion when him and Mariette broke up and actually started out healthy by them being friends at 1st like Adrian and Mariette and actually given him and Mariette more relationship screen time for people who don't ship Mariette and Adrian same with Adrian X kagami and given Luka more time to fall in love with someone else in the series and actually started going through the results of a break up too for more relatable character ya know?
